I'm by no means a pro golfer. But it seems to me when the ball was on the side of that incline, he would have reduced the problem by striking the ball left to right rather than trying to hit it toward the green.

Too aggressive of first shot, just take your medicine and use more loft. Then compounded that by being too aggressive on 2nd shot trying to get distance instead of making good contact - should have played a gentle pitch/chip shot. Played this like an amateur golfer and it cost him.

Painful to watch. Been in some of those bunkers and felt fortunate to get out when I did, but sometimes the golf gods say “no, sorry”.

The first shot that planted, couldn’t he have just taken a penalty stroke and moved the ball all the way out of the same trap for a better lie? He was able to hit it out of the sand trap the second time, but let’s say he hit it out of the sand trap again and he hit it right back into the side of the bunker. Then he’d have wasted another stroke Would it not have made sense to just take the penalty and move the ball from where it was hit into the grass side of the bunker to somewhere he could give himself a better lie?

greeeed , he tried too big of a bite on 1st attempt and 2th shot was pitiful.... those 2 shots may have ended his career.....bc he will never forget them....

@@zacharyradford5552 why would someone want to replicate something that didn't turn out well? Replicating a shot like Bryson's bunker shot on 18 at The Open would be worth replicating.
