Black Cat is kind of the same way. Just her powers are more magical than a mutation, like Domino's. Black Cat has the ability to cause others around her to have a spot of bad luck, like a...black cat. It isn't a large field of influence. And it doesn't always work. Still, on the level of Domino's power. It is a bit of a joke. As Domino could literally affect the odds of a whole planet, if she wanted to. Pretty much throwing everything into Chaos. If anything. She should be called "Lady Luck". Be a goddess worshipped by Gamblers the world over.
Domino doesn't actually have luck. She drains luck from everything around her making her the most lucky by proxy. Which is why everything around turns to chaos
@@Dyne191 No that's actually how her powers work. The Luckier that Domino gets the more tragedy happens to those around her. Remember her first scene in Deadpool 2?
@@omega-xk4gj but she doesn't drain the luck of others it's a power that happens subconsciously, that one teen titans character drained luck or something to that effect
@craigalston2208 99% of comic characters were created when 99% of television was YT those times are over. Bringing the characters to the Big screen 99% would be ALL YT times are different now that's why they change a few so the Movies look more like the REAL WORLD
The extent of her powers depends on the extent of her imagination and creativity in battle.. she can literally always take risks with 110% confidence, her power is trippy asf lol, and clever for whoever came up with the concept.. she’s one of my favourites.. I loved the Deadpool version as well
Her luck is overpowered. In the comics, When being hunted by several Sentinels during a bad thunderstorm, Domino or her ‘luck’ made the lightning hit the sentinels. And we all know how random lightning strikes are.
Luck based characters have always been a trope I’ve really enjoyed. I understand it’s essentially just plot armour but having played a monk/bard DND character who revolved entirely around divination magic and luck (rerolls through hero/luck points) it was a lot of fun to see how far I could push it. He was a gambleresque charismatic kinda guy based roughly on X-Mens Gambit, one of my favourite heroes, who was honestly rather apathetic towards his own luck and the constant shenanigans he was constantly pulled into. During higher levels it was revealed that luck herself, this cosmic being, was smitten by him and would often force her sisters (kinda based on the Greek 3 oracles) to rewrite the tapestry of time to ensure his survival.
@@jeremiahbecker4761 On my 3rd read through the series, on Crossroad of Twilight atm. Probably my favorite series of books and, at least IMO, one of the best works of fantasy fiction to ever be written. Robert Jordan is a master at his craft. I generally dont think of Mat Cauthorn when I think of the trope, although i do understand it fits him. The characters are just too diverse for me to want to label.
@coleking2632 I wasn't specifically thinking of Mat, although, luck is talked about most regarding his character. I like how Robert Jordan basically takes something we generally call plot armor and makes it part of the story with the Ta'veren idea. Which is manipulation of luck.
@@jeremiahbecker4761 Honestly didn't think about them as a whole. It's largely something out of their control and doesn't just affect them. There's plenty of instances of like people tripping their neck or equally negative things. Mats the only character that constanty ''plays with fate'' or tests that luck really pushing it. One of the things i enjoy about his writing is how there doesn't really feel like there's plot armor. So many encounters the protags survive by a thread and in a natural way, not a cheesy way.
In what way? It’s not like she recieved those powers half way through the movie so that it all just works out or something, the entire movie was written with her in it and with those powers from the beginning. By your logic any character with sufficient power could be labeled plot armor..
And in the Comics its one of the Sadest Characters because hir luck is everyones defeat, no matter if enemy or family, so she lost everyone she loved over time to hir abilitys.
A combination of really pushing her luck power, because she can control it sub consciously, and her actual combat skill. Then there's the size difference. The various Hulks have been shown to have had difficulty with much smaller opponents.
The issue is they made her more powerful than the character actually is, her power is luck, good and bad, if she uses her power too much it starts becoming a henderance, and becomes a problem, so she has a limit
In deadpool when the break's damaged she littery said "bad luck " , it wasnt powerful , lots of bad luck happened around her ppl died and blow up cars etc etc ,
I read a comic where she got killed and the bad guys peeled her skin off and graphed it to there own skin so the X-men defense system would think they were mutants not human.
Idk about her mutant abilities but her looks and personality abilities are off the charts. She’s so beautiful and funny. She’s top 10 hottest in the game right now
I like that live action Domino is more of a player 2 look and that she saved money and time for makeup. See Titans Starfire and her race for more of this budget saving loophole.
What Crazy is.. Scarlet Witch power before he combat upgrade was simply being able to increase her probability of things being in her favor much like Domino.
Domino has psionic powers, she is also a markswoman, very good in hand-to-hand combat, and has probability alteration which she cannot control but it becomes active once she enters into danger or makes a decision to be active, lastly, she can calculate odds of any scenario she is active in.
Her powers very wildly from iteration to iteration. But the very basics of what I’ve been able to determine is she Has to be able to see the danger coming in order for her power to kick in. There are instances where her abilities kicked in without her noticing. However, every time she’s knocked out it’s because she didn’t see it coming or any other time she gets hurt it’s because she didn’t know it was coming so that must mean that her abilities, somehow trying to her peripheral or direct, Vision.
Domino is a Delta level mutant. This class of mutant powers are completely passive. Meaning she has no control over her powers they just happen passively
Hitting Red Hulks pressure points with a hammer is how Domino defeated Red Hulk in the comic. Domino says "The human (or hulk) body is an amazing thing! There's a whole network of interconnected nerves...connecting pressure points to other pressure points...making it possible to do this!" Red hulk says "...how?" then passes out
