I still remember my first experience with Dubai police. “I was searching a shop address at 45 degrees in the afternoon when the shops are usually closed in mina bazaar. I asked the police office sitting a big SUV with air con on. Upon asking the address he rolled down the window and said I will show it to you, he jumped out of the car walked with me for about 10 mins took me to the exact address shook my hand and walked back. I was impressed.
I have been here for 3 years and i tell with my own experience working with police and doing my job...they are friendly more than many countries i knew
Red Ribbon on duty doesn’t mean they know🤣 It also happened to me, Yes they are on duty but sometimes people ask them questions when they weren’t meant for that
Lane changing is not a crime.....it’s when you don’t respect safety road signs, look (check mirrors and blind spots) that’s when it becomes violation. Because it puts everyone at risk.
AKS Carnage I think he is saying that if it’s a crime in Dubai to drive dangerously that means his country people are getting away with it. Because no one is doing anything about it. They are “artists” in that it’s a common practice that people just do and no one, not the police, care to punish them for.
Dubai has major population from Indian sub-continent and without these traffic rules and penalty, traffic will be a nightmare. Great work by Dubai Police in enforcing it.
@Isa Tims Jokes on you. 901 is the number. “The police's toll-free number 901 will receive calls from the public and give out information for free on matters related to traffic, crime, human rights and others.”
I guess it means people who change lanes without using turn signals and they do it in a very risky spot with minimal room to enter the lane. It also means if your in a right turn only lane and make a left turn from the right turn only lane that’s a violation.
People who change lanes without indicators and some people who use indicators but change near the Traffic signals and between 2 vehicles where there is very short distance
I wonder beyond their duty how refine their character is....They really concern about safety human lives that move on Dubai roads... Hats off Dubai police
@Hey Man the Dubai police are doing a great job, who are you to belittle all the effort and resources spent? So what that another country has a better system? The Dubai police and the documentary both never showed any form of boastfulness throughout. Grow up, stop being such a salty pillock.
@Just a mental fellow you are imagining things .. none of us get 80k for doing nothing everyone has a job .. everyone has his own issues and challenges stop this victim mentality it's unhealthy just obey the law and be a good person and you are good to go
Have you been to Dubai? They drive like drunk people over there. No lame discipline at all and half the time is spent between them. The UK is one of the best nations for having decent drivers in reality in comparison
@Jumba Chumba not sure how they’ve come to that conclusion as I have been many time to Dubai and they don’t even drive in the lanes and they are all over the road. If you do that here, you smash into an oncoming car....
@@Horizon301. i've lived in dubai and i could say that what ur saying is quite frankly a lie, the lane discipline there is better than most other countries by comparison since u'll find out u have a ticket when u get back home if u decide to act like an asshole in the road so it tempts u not to do it again
@@mediumpie6150 The UK has one of the best driving standards in the world. That's a fact. Personally, living and driving in the UK, I think the majority of UK drivers are BAD drivers. Saying that, when I drive in the UK I very rarely see something dangerous. The UAE has one of the worst driving standards and especially accident statistics. I lived in the UAE for 7 years and never left the house without seeing an accident or someone doing something that COULD have caused a major accident.
You should see how they drive in Bali....(not sure how I survived the car journey when there, LOL.....and lots of VERY bad drivers in Australia)! UK driving is much better than in many other countries.
@Hey Man there are more dangerous drivers in Japan, streets are more crowded with people, noobs are trying to drift stock Civics, they have special police unit with cars equaly moded to compete with racers. It is easier to pin down a racer on a smaller city road in Japan or chase him/her down the highway. In UAE there are lots of cars on wider roads, it is harder to avoid those cars or pin someone.
Hey Man in dubai they have super cars for police like buggati, bentley, lamborghini tell me any other country that have this kinds of cars for police patrolling.
True.. as an African I've never been harrassed by Dubai police on the contrary they will stop you in a polite way.. great you ask you how you experiencing Dubai culture, ask if they can even buy you lunch I was like wow!! I love this conversation. They dont act like self entitlement police as many West countries. They are human beings first then police 2nd
4:35 They gave that person a fine for jumping the queue, but it was a dotted line ... if you don’t want people changing lanes there, make it a solid line ...
No, this is the most ridiculous dictatorship way to regulate traffic. In civilized countries, you don't need such nonsense because the majority follow the rules. I would never want to live in Dubai when government is so intrusive and they clearly have a control issue
@@abhishekpawar5126 why are you making this about religion, wtf is wrong with Indians. @@abhishekpawar5126 lol, wow, you're deleting your comments. I dont need to insult you or respond back. Deleting your comments means you've realized what a fool you were.
4:39 Is not a violation! The line he crosses is a dashed line, so no violation! Ok, perhaps he avoided the traffic jam deliberately, but he also could have made a mistake. If they want this to be a violation, they have to make the line continuous (full, solid) so you have to make your lane choice earlier! 5:05 Car is driving in the middle lane with no traffic in the most right lane! Motocycle behind him is therefore overtaking him on the right! 2 violations! 5:08 Car on the left in the 3rd lane, should drive in the 2nd. "Our" car is going to pas him on the right: violation because this is not a taffic jam !
I was thinking the same. When you are driving in a new city it often happens to choose the wrong line, especially if your entire life you used to drive in a small city where roads have up to two lanes
You have a good point with 4:39 but I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about the other two. It's not illegal to not pass someone if you're in the left or middle lanes. Those are suggestions to keep the flow of traffic moving, but then the laws also put in speed limits.
Exactly what I was thinking! Maybe the guy was not familiar with that road and waiting for indicators or for the gps to tell him. Maybe he thought there is a straight line option too. He changed the line when he saw the right arrow and the line was still discontinued which is perfectly legal according to international driving rules. There are roads with 3 lines to the left and ppl think there is only 2. They will stay in the queue catching the signal 3 times or more while the 3th line is always empty. You can only see it if u keep the straight line or once u reached to the green light already. I think this was not the best example police could give and one can easily open case in court and win.
The thing is not about bad drivers. But the intensity of the accident caused on high speed dubai roads. Even a small mistake can cause big damage in Dubai because of the speed at which cars move.
05:55 _"Safe distance should be 200 m"_ Are you joking? May be meant 200 ft. Even 100 m gap between two vehicles is way too much to expect during non-peak hours. And, during my last stay most of the cars in DXB seemed to have nothing more than 20 - 30m gap.
@@b4ushout_172 They use metric system there, so he meant 200 meters, especially with crazy speed limits. And yes you need to have that to stop fully and safely. If you're driving at lower speeds so less than 200 is fine! You really have to think about it in time not in distance so you could have enough time to perceive, react and fully stop 🛑, and that is at least 3 seconds. Search for 3-second rule if you don't know it.
@@yourfriend5144 Speed limit for most parts of UAE is 120 kmph for passenger cars and 80 kmph for commercial trucks. At that speed a vehicle would travel 100m in 3 sec. So the question of 200 m doesn't arise. If you watch the video right after that comment _(of safe distance being 200m)_ the Captain himself says that this distance is enough. And, that distance is certainly not more than 50m. Also, the rule quoted by DXB captains themselves was 2-second rule when my chauffeur was fined. A rule that's followed in most parts of Europe as well.
@@user_1abc Well, i don't think there is a written rule about the 2-3-seconds rule, it is just a reasonable time to avoid accidents. And the 3 seconds is not only for stopping the vehicle, but rather for the time you realize that there is an obstacle then react by pressing the breaks (which could take up to one second with normal ppl, ppl with health problems would take even more) and decelerating to 0 km/h which could take even more than 2 seconds, depending on the speed and weight of the vehicle in addition to road, weather, car and driver conditions. (I think 2 seconds is more than enough to stop on Dubai roads, because there is almost no winter lol) The 3-second rule is also known to be followed in most of Europe especially in the winter due to icy roads, rain, snow and fog, and i know that because i live in Europe. So ONE more second as a buffer could save ones life. Good deal! Sorry for the essay and drive safe🌺
We need same system in America Specially in California Some drivers are crazy here of you stop them then they start yelling at you and then basically You fucked up your whole day for stopping someone doing wrong

That's illegal and can easily cause an accident. You should decide where you want to go before you get to the line. It's clearly marked. You're honestly an idiot if you think drivers should not be held accountable for breaking the law.

Ok we live in Dubai and live in Abu Dhabi for 12 years and my father hasn’t broken any laws ever since also whenever anybody tries to change lanes my father let’s them change
When the officer says “look! Look! The arrows point to the left on this lane and to the right on this lane” I’m just thinking… what arrows!? 😂 they’re blacked out; how can you expect motorists to obey the laws when the arrows aren’t clearly painted by the state? This is so unjust
Doesn't matter really. What if there is a queue? You would not be able to see the arrow. That is why PRIMARILY you should follow the SIGNS. No excuses.

They should re paint their lane markings and as long as their is dash lane markings and not solid markings you can change lanes on highway so I don’t think those tickets are valid.
@@abdulrahmanjayyar6197 what if you honestly went to the wrong lane and needed to get back to the lane where the long traffic is? Is that wrong change of lane?
mark bustos by law you need to turn your signal and wait until it’s safe to switch then you can go. For me any lane change that will make the driver behind you hit the break is wrong.
@@abdulrahmanjayyar6197 ok, so it's the same thing, you just need to be a smart driver and not a reckless one. Im planning to apply for a license here so need to take note of this. Thanks
4:50 what is considered an illegal lane change in Dubai? In the US if there was a solid white line then that would be illegal but I am seeing dotted white lines here. Seems to be opened for interpretation.
Here in Ontario, lines don't really matter - they are only advisory. You can get a ticket for improper / unsafe passing, but passing on a solid isn't necessarily unsafe. Same with signals - they are only necessary if the movement could potentially affect other traffic, not when you're alone in the middle of no where.
At that moment the driver was in a right turn lane but he rode it until last minute to pass the line and jumped in where he though he could so he could go left. Also It seemed like in the beginning the drivers they were showing were also doing the 'cut off' lane change. And not using signals.
I think that was a lack of aesthetics that prompted this comment. I find Dubai Police uniform perfect in every sense of the word. They look perfectly smart and professional in them.
Progressive policing in Dubai = remote fines and accountability for violators Progressive policing in USA = No cash bail, shoplifting is fine, defund the police.
We need this in Nashville, TN USA. Please send it. Everyday, we have accidents on I-24 and I-65. The Cit of Nashville will be rich just off of lane violations. Sleepy drivers and reckless drivers.
Love from India...I love Dubai very systematic...india should learn something and increase the fine and also before increasing fines they should first develop the infrastructure of the road and should put more signs . I know this will never happen

That's pretty BS. Tailgating and all the stuff mentioned in the video is extremely dangerous, as they said it's the first cause of accidents. Dubai I think has a pretty strong economy and I think police has nice funding (look at their cars) so collecting money is not the main priority I guess.

Probably, it's a right fine. We didn't see him come from the right but let's assume he came from right as you said. Why didn't he put on the left turn signal earlier so that he can mean he wants to go left. But instead what he did was, he went straight close towards the signal from the wrong lane, and as the signal got green, he put on the left turn signal immediately and went into the left lane. From my point of view it's an offense.
I asked the same. Because he is not cutting solid continuous line. It's discontinuous line he cuts. It's permissible if the driver on his left permits. It's not a traffic violation
