The Lone Ranger is my favourite show and will always be. I watch the episodes over and over again and never get bored. Clayton Moore will always be my favourite Lone Ranger.
I watched "The Lone Ranger" from the end of the first season in 1950, (didn't own a t.v. when it started in 1949)! To me, it was the first true television "hit" series! Fortunately, I was able to see Clayton Moore, in person, in 1974, when he opened a new shopping Mall on L.I. NY! I also met Dwayne Hickman & Tommy Ivo, who appeared on the show! The "Ranger" was & is, one of the greatest "role models" of all time for kids & adults!
Mr Moore had the most Awesome voice and I enjoyed The Lone Ranger. Mr Silverheels also had a very identifiable voice and he and Mr Moore were the best.
I played golf with Clayton Moore at Santa Anita Golf Course in Arcadia, CA back in the mid 1970s. I was on the waiting lists and he was part of a twosome so two of us on the wait list played in the same group. All through the round I kept thinking I recognized his voice, but I didn't recognize him. I finally remembered to mention that. He asked if I had watched TV in the 1950s. When I said yes he said I would figure it out. I finally did later. He had introduced himself as Clay which didn't ring any bells. The Lone Ranger was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.
Hi Tim Over 9 million subscribers 😮 Way to go! Just wanted to ask Didn't Moore do an episode of Happy Days? Because Fonzie was a huge Lone Ranger fan Or was that someone else?
I had never seen this show before. It's an extraordinary duo for its time. They covered all the human frailties including racism with grace and dignity and the Lone Ranger never intentionally set out to kill anyone. We never even saw the bad guys being punished, we just knew that had been tried and sent off to jail. I liked Clayton Moore, but was more impressed with Jay Silverheels. He was so cool! And the writers and producers. The even addressed environmental issues!
John Hart couldn’t hold a candle to Clayton Moore! Everybody knows that Clayton Moore was the REAL Lone Ranger. The only disturbing thing about that, is that I have the sneaking suspicion that Clayton Moore actually believed he really WAS the Lone Ranger. 😳
When you talk about Chuck Courtney you keep showing photo of Dwayne Hickman (or his brother) who both appeared in TLR, instead of photo of Mr Courtney? Enjoyed most of the photos.
Not to mention full of misinformation such as Chuck Courtney being Dan Reid in 1958. By 1958 the series had already ended! This idiot doesn’t know shit!
At one time John Hart's agent and his wife were selling stuff from his estate on ebay. I got several items including a silver bullet just like the one he gave Fonzie on that Happy Days episode. I did not have to pay a great deal of money either.
He lost the right to wear the mask over a decade after the show was over. They were making a movie with another actor, and didn't want Moore to wear the mask. He was replaced by John Hart during the TV show, but brought back by popular demand. Read his book I WAS THAT MASKED MAN togetfacts straight.
Why do you use Lester Holt's photographing your bait screen? Are you trying to lend credibility to the sometimes misleading information you call "facts?"
Moore is THE LONE RANGER but I have a guilty pleasure on Hart. His Ranger was darker I remember an episode where he had the henchman all lined up to be arrested by the law and one of the lackeys went to move and the Lone Ranger said MAKE ANOTHER MOVE I’ll SHOOT YOU WHERE YOU STAND!! Moore NEVER say that.
I was raised with the Lone Ranger loved it wish he would have taken me away on Silver loved him an loved that horse. Have a. Picture of him on silver on my wall.😊❤️
When they made that interesting Lone Ranger movie, Mr. Moore couldn’t wear the mask….. So…… He became a spokesman for sunglasses company and wore sunglasses that resembled the official Lone Ranger mask…… After the movie bombed, more got the right to wear the mask again! As for my favorite characters, the only one’s worth taking about, Lone Ranger and Tonto…… Need I say more?
Possibly the worst TV Western I watched only recently from beginning to end. The plot in each episode was excruciatingly predictable. The Lone Ranger always made sure that he stood with his back to the open door so that any bad guy could just walk in and pistol whip him. I often thought that his horse had more intelligence and common sense than he did. Only half way through the whole series was Tanto finally given the opportunity to say more instead of agreeing with Lone Ranger on everything. When John Hart took over for a while, I thought that was like a breath of fresh air... I much preferred him to Clayton Moore who always seemed forced and unnatural. The unfounded insistence that The Lone Ranger is still a role model for young boys is not only silly but also dangerous.
Any fool can speak in our country where kids made the country as much as they could because of watching TV shows like the lone ranger because we listen to the words of wisdom
