I watch Rawhide 3 times a day ..i want the dvd set so bad but because Clint is shown as the main star and Eric Fleming in the background or not on cover at all, i refuse to get it..Fleming was the star and best actor on the show.
Eric Fleming who was the Star of Rawhide led such a horrible life from birth, he overcame it to become not only the best character on the show but the best written.
My dad was a real loyal fan of "Rawhide." Consequently, I viewed almost every episode of this sitcom...growing up watching that show. "Wishbone," was my favorite character on Rawhide as well as the theme song. The theme song I can probably sing even today, after all these years.
Jim Quince (Steve Raines), Joe Scarlet (Rocky Shahan) & Pete Nolan (Sheb Wooley) seemed to be the best horseman on the Rawhide set. Eric Fleming & Clint Eastwood were decent riders as well. Steve Raines crossed-over back in 1996 at age 79. Rocky Shahan crossed-over in 1981. THANKS fellas, you were a joy to watch !
Clint Eastwood as Rowdy is my all time favorite - When i was a kid, I had the biggest crush on him - I never realized what a true actor was until I saw him on tv. the spaghetti westerns, comedies, dramas, and blockbusters! Hes done it all - as a great writer, directior...He is our American treasure and was Mayor of Carmel CA he is still going strong!!! He gets better with age....like a fine wine!!!❤️
Looking back I don’t believe anyone would have predicted Clints level of success. Same would go for others legendary actors like John Wayne, Leonardo DiCaprio and such. Clint certainly was handsome and that never hurt’s. As we grow older in life and experiences we meet many people who also influenced our thinking. All of these influence and change us as individuals. Not sure how we can measure that. Certainly with longevity comes credibility. We should always remember they are people first and had some rather fantastic break’s in life and financially rewarding but Hollywood achievements isn’t exactly finding cures for disease’s or mental illness is it.
There's no denying Clint Eastwood was a handsome guy, w/that incredible hair when he was young; but he has the WORST posture!! When I watched him slouching his way through Rawhide, I just wished someone would tell him to STAND UP STRAIGHT!! But he's proven himself to be a talented actor.
As a kid in the 50s and 60s my folks watched a lot of westerns- Bonaza, Gunsmoke, Maverick, Wagon Train, Wanted- Dead or Alive, etc. For some reason we never watched Rawhide. I have been binge watching it on You Tube and it is just an awesome show! And where shows like Maverick could take place anywhere and include an unlimited cast of characters, Rawhide was limited to what could happen or who you could meet on a cattle drive. It is the BEST!
I love Eric Flemings manly look, deep voice and best smile. Its not that easy to become famous and settle in life for a person like Eric.He crossed all odds and evils and became best acter. He is a best example of best person. Clint is always appreciated. All characters are nice.thanks for uploading . My comments From 🇮🇳 INDIA.
Loved and still love Rawhide and all the characters. But Eric Fleming was one of a kind. At least Mr. Favor will live on as trail boss on our tv screens.❤
I watched it on our national TV last year and now I'm watching the replay again. And I can watch that series day after day from the beginning and I won't get bored. I like the whole cast, the guys are a really good team. Maybe my favorites are Eric above all, but also Sheb who plays Pete and Steve who plays Quince. But I must say that Eric is a very, very special and interesting person who exudes strong charisma and if he had lived, he would probably have reached the top of the stars in the world of acting. This is a person who, in addition to radiating charisma, simultaneously carries strength, reliability, firmness and principle, but also a dose of self-deprecation. He impresses me as a character. He has all that, but he hasn't been very lucky in his life. Too bad, I'm really sorry about that. I think he is a great loss to the film industry. May all the boys who left us rest in peace and watch over us as we watch over them.
Your summation of Eric Fleming is very astute!! I love that he conveyed such a strong sense of honor & integrity. Growing up, I had the WORST crush on him (& James Arness of Gunsmoke). Both men portrayed very strong, moral characters!! Eric's looks were sort of a slow burn, and ohhh, those eyes!! SUCH a gorgeous man!! ❤❤❤❤
Loved the show ❤ watched all the reruns not to long ago great actor ne er make them like that again RIP all those that have passed 🙏 Clint E is still going strong thank God
@@FactsVerse it's hard to say I 😍 😍 ❤ loved them all they were all good how can you pick just one when when you 💔 😔 think of its such a classic show in its time even today when I think back in my life how great 👍 ashow it was like Clint E 💔 that where he got his start he says that himself what more can I say about a great show beautiful actor 💔 💙 love it to this day thank you
I enjoy it. Gil Favor was my favorite. I got a question where is Rocky Shahan and Steve Raines? They was the original casts in the beginning. They were not in your video. Rocky died in 1981 and Steve Raines died in 1996. Where is Charles Gray (Clay Forrester.) And William R. Thompkins (Toothless.)
I liked anyone that could ride a horse. I remember watching Rawhide from its beginning as we would all sit around the TV. Those times were so simple, innocent and different than these times we live in today. Back then people loved and were proud to be Americans. Nowadays they challenge what you mean by saying Americans. Sad but true.
Thanks, Tom, yes. I think Sheb had a US number 1 hit with "Purple People Eater' (on RU-vid) which he wrote - 'infamously' recorded by Barry Cryer who died recently and which became a number 1 hit for Barry in Finland!
Thanks for making this video! Putting aside the mistake about James Murdoch's time of death, it is very entertaining. My husband and I are watching Rawhide every night on Foxtel here in Australia at the moment. We both grew up watching it when we were kids in the 50s and 60s, and enjoy it even more now! Hard to say who my favourite actor was, they all appeal on different levels. I have just finished reading Death on the Amazon by Eric Fleming's fiancee, couldn't put it down. Great insight into Eric Fleming, apparently a very intelligent man who had little time for the Hollywood lifestyle of endless parties and drugs. He is probably my favourite, but both Eric and Clint could have put their boots under my bed anytime😆😆😆
Just started watching Rawhide on FETV. It caught my attention because of a young Clint Eastwood. Love ❤️ this show. Love ❤️ seeing positive images of strong men. 💙💙💙💙
@@FactsVerse the most memorable is the one with Mastiff (I think 🤔 that was his name). He was an outlaw who beat his stepdad to death. Then Rowdy and Mr Favor found him at a church ⛪️. That was the very first episode I watched. 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Yes iam a Cherokee cowboy and worked with Dale Robertson another Cherokee in 74 years I can't complain got to talk to Clint twice thru his assistant lot of opening scenes were filmed in tucumcari n m Paul brineagars home town sheb Woolley was from around Sayre / Eric oklahoma thanks to all great videos
Remember the episode when Mushy finally had enough of Wishbone's unwarranted and merciless abuse and took a cast iron skillet to his skull making him head cook of the crew? That's my favorite episode.
Awesome show Rawhide with many excellent actors. Vid said James Murdock died in 1950 n his last role was Godfather II Heah ??? Dates don't match up. Looking for ur next one.
I liked all the actors on Rawhide & see it every Sat. I can say my favorite was Gil Favor, then Clint Eastwood. I really liked the theme beginning & end by Frankie Laine. For xmas one year I got the record of it. I even listen to it on my computer, as I have it archived! Thank You!
Shows how good of an actor he really was! 🙄. How did you ask this question 3 weeks ago when it just appeared on RU-vid. I think we are in the twilight zone 🤪
No mention of Ben Colder , And Paul Brinegar last roles were Maverick with Mel Gibson and he had a somewhat recurring role on Briscoe County Jr. Tv series as a Professor.
What I want to know is : how did James Murdock pass away 1950 ? But he had a roll in, Airport 1975 witch was made in 1974. And Godfather part two, come out in 1972.. And the show that made him a Star, Rawhide air 1959. So are you seeing anything odd ???
Yeah.tragic how he died! He was really the star of Rawhide but I heard that Clint Eastwood overtook Eric's star role...Well I would much rather have seen more of Eric Fleming any day! Being born handicapped myself I could idenify.peace May he rest in peace. Also, I can pretty much leave or take lint Eastwood (and his acting)...mostly LEAVE him!
Haha..at age 11 i may not have known what lust was but i do know i lusted for Rowdy Yates...!!!😍😁😘 still LOVE Clint & ALL his movies. Dont care how old he is-hes still handsome & sexy...
@@FactsVerse I found the series on RU-vid last night and watched the first 2 episodes, I was pleasantly surprised how well done the show was, I had planned on skipping the boring parts, but there weren't any. It was gripping right from the get go. And this was back in 1959. The entire cast was brilliant. I forgot how wholesome people were back then.
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
The 3 that stuck out in merit order fr me is Clint,Mr Fleming, and wishbone the cook,,,great show,,Clint thrown into super stardom,,when 1st episode screened course Mr Fleming most popular, but did Clint pinch it as show went on???I believe so,by no means disrespect to Fleming,,,sure he may of agreed at time,no upstaging childish games,,Jim,cvw
I don’t think Mushy was born in 1931 and then died in 1950. That would make him 19 yrs old when he died. Plums how could he be in Godfather 2 when that came out many years after 1950?
i want to travel back in time and marry dawn well as her Mary Ann summer character to correct the mistake of her saying that she has A future husband wanting for her
