Great video, the only question I would have... On yellow stage the descriptions were still inflammatory. Yellow allegedly sees all stages, understands them, uses what works from each and doesnt demonize any of them. So that last description did quite line up for me. Thanks.

How do you comunicate so much beauty? It's Incredible. I just look at it and it brings me to tears. Because I'm looking at it and I'm looking at myself. Yeah you've never really seen spiral dynamics until you've seen it on 5meo DMT. Until you recognize that it's you and that's basically what Infinity is. Sort of like I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you more, I love you more, I love you more. Who can love who more? And whoever can love who more is God. You see that long laundry list of stuff about you that you don't love. God loves all of it. I'm sorry for not loving more, that's the only thing you have to be sorry about. Thank you. Thank You For Love! And at this point you realize that that's it, that's the point. That's the only lesson in life. That's my only job. Is to love. Everything else is idiocy and then what you do is you say I love you. For the first time in your life you say I love you because you really understand what that phrase means and you fall in love with God. But as it throws it out there, it's gentle so he throws it out there but then you say oh I can't love it and then what God will say in return is, it's okay. I love that you are not capable of love. I love that. And when that hits you. That's what fills you with enough love to overcome your resistance to love even that next level thing that you could do. No it can't be love. Of course it's love! what else could it be! It's love! No oh my God this is impossible! Of course it's love how could it be anything else!? How could I be so stupid as to think it's anything else. And God is like of course it's love.

I love this video, however my question is, if Yellow is already 2nd tier, why does Yellow see the 1st Tier levels in a “negative” light instead of being radically inclusive with their worldviews? Aren’t 2nd tier levels supposed to do this by nature?

When you move up a stage you can clearly see the limits of the previous stage that you were in which is why you wouldn’t move backwards. Being tier two yellow is the first stage to accurately perceive the flaws of all the stages before it without demonising any of them. All tier 1 stages lack clarity in their view of lower or higher stages.

This video is Leo’s interpretation of how yellow sees other levels. But each level has its gifts and dangers. Red is reckless and narcissistic, but if integrated it is a useful thug and fun at a party. Blue is rigid and controlling, but if integrated it is stable and reliable. Orange is empty status seeking and materialistic manipulation, but if integrated it is problem solving, evidence based and smart. Green is naive, boundary less and ungrounded, but if integrated it is warm, loving and patient. Yellow is doing the work of integrating in the service of competence. Depending on a yellow person’s own level of individual / social and systemic integration, they will perceive different parts of the spiral as good or bad.

Yellow views all of the colors down the spiral with compassion and respect. After all, they've been through all of those stages. That's the point of yellow: they are integralists. Their goal is to TRY to make all of the colors blend together in harmony. They hold almost no ill will towards anybody. Turquoises, of course, hold no ill will toward anyone or anything.

What level were Don Edward Beck & Christopher Cowan when they came up with this? SD itself was based on Clare Graves' emergent cyclical theory. To say nothing of Ken Wilber's integral theory. These systems are all relative truths, not absolute. This is like saying Reality Transurfing is not itself a pendulum, which it is. Or Carlos Castaneda's work. Or Ra Uru Hu's Human Design System which itself comes from the mind, while the whole crux is to focus on the body.

Colors are an absurdly stupid way to describe or label levels of consciousness. 🤦‍♂️ Just listen to yourself, ‘blue views green’; you sound like a fruitcake. How bout, ‘People with more sophisticated paradigms of interfacing with reality, generally look down upon, and are frustrated with those that less sophisticated paradigms or modes of operating, except the highest levels of consciousness learn to accept and value the others, as a collective rite of passage.’ There, done, could have been a short. Label them for what they are, in essence, like primal, tribal, modern, post modern, or whatever. Colors don’t convey any more nuance or meaningful information than labeling them with numbers or music notation. It’s baffling to me how bastardized this theory has devolved into, since I became aware of it, decades ago. If you’ve commandeered the illustrative aid of the color spectrum as a label, for the sake of political correctness, we’ll that’s just plain stupid.

I'm fascinated by this model. As with the MBTI personality system, it seems to map onto something, even if the theoretical foundations are either dubious or simply absent. My rough hypothesis: both Spiral Dynamics and the MBTI *accurately identify certain categories* (of cultures or personalities, respectively), and can so *describe* the common traits of each category. For example, "T types favour logic, thinking, tangible things; F types favour feelings, emotions, spirituality". Or: "blue favours holy books and absolute moral theories, orange favours the scientific method and the values of the marketplace, etc". However, a *causal explanation* of what creates the categories is absent from either theory. Sometimes a knowledgeable person can construct a causal explanation from their general knowledge (as I think is the case in this video). The danger with "big-picture" theories like this is that it is too easy to explain everything under the theory -- and in a very common bad scenario, all criticism can be assimilated into the theory. "Ah yes, of course you would want to know if spiral dynamics is falsifiable, I asked the exact same thing back in my stage orange days..."
