So ya, I forgot to record and count the Friend Ball, Park Ball, and Max Repel, but I DID collect them during the playthrough, so there is actually 199 items. As I said, math is hard 😅

Technically you receive it when you participate in the bug catching contest, but you can’t keep it 👍

help ( my omega. Ruby, game cartridge got corrupted recently I was using powersaves last week and before you know, it doesn't read on my Nintendo 3-D XI and even more annoying power save doesn't recognize. I've used it for about a year now with lots of Code being added, and it's only after I got corrupted is now saying unsupported game, even though it's working perfectly fine for months. It all started basically want to add a one Pokemon to the coding and then a couple minutes later, added another code that's when it happened. Please anyone give me a solution to fix this. Is there any place or store I can go to to get this fixed anywhere I can reset my 3DS anyway I can get my powersaves to recognize my cartridge in order to get it back up. Literally anything will help. Please help me.

Fun fact: pokémon were able to start holding items in generation 2. Berries were introduced because it wouldn't really make sense for all pokemon to be able to hold and use spray bottles

You’re mostly correct. Berries have been around since the Spaceworld 97 demo (even if there’s only “berry”). It’s just they dropped it for the reason you said and also redundancy between berries and HP/status healing sprays

Berries would forever change battles in gen 3. First, we start off with the 5 basic berries: Cheri- Cures Paralysis Chesto- Awakens a pokemon from Sleep Pecha- Cures Poison Rawst- Cures Burn Aspear- Cures Freeze * Then we have the two best berries: Persim- Snaps a pokemon out of confusion Lum- Cures all status conditions. The best berry of them all! * What about berries that boost/lower your stats as Attack, HP, etc.? Well, there's quite a bit of them. Salac- Boosts the pokemon's speed when HP is low. Liechi- Boosts the pokemon's attack when HP is low. Petaya- Boosts the pokemon's Special attack when HP is low. Ganlon- Boosts the pokemon's defense when HP is low. Apicot- Boosts the pokemon's Special defense when HP is low. Lansat- Boosts the pokemon's Critiical Hit ratio by two stages when HP is low. Micle- Boosts the accuracy of the pokemon's next move by 20% when HP is low starting in Gen 4. Custap- When the pokemon's HP is low, allows the user to move first. Starf- An E-reader exclusive berry that is absolutely broken. When the pokemon's HP is low, boosts a random stat by two stages! * Now for the stat lowering berries. These berries lower one of your pokemon's stats but make them friendlier. Pomeg- Most famous of these berries because of the Pomeg Glitch/Glitzer Popping. Lowers the HP stat by 10 but makes it friendlier. Kelpsy- Lowers the Attack stat by 10 but makes a pokemon friendlier. Qualot- Lowers the Defense stat by 10 but makes a pokemon friendlier. Hondew- Lowers the Speical Attack stat by 10 but makes a pokemon friendlier. Grepa- Lowers the Special Defense stat by 10 but makes a pokemon friendlier. Tamato- Lowers the Speed stat by 10 but makes a pokemon friendlier.

You can get a gold berry by trading for the Machop in Goldenrod (it holds a gold berry). This is probably faster than the bug-catching contest.

The purpose of the berries is so that your Pokémon can heal or recover from a status automatically without burning a turn. Artificial things like potions won’t do anything if you give one to a Pokémon to hold.

IIRC there's an NPC that tells you about pokemon eating berries if they're a held item, but it would be easy to miss him.

@@Zanelanderberries don’t waste a turn in battle healing your Pokemon, they just trigger automatically. That can be super valuable situationally.

@@Zanelander So are movepools, stats, team synergy, support moves, etc, etc. The normal games can be beaten by spamming one move with your starter, but in challenge runs berries become very powerful.

Rollout and Defense Curl are TMs in Gen II. Those moves go very well together.

I saw this other video where someone was collecting all of the room decals, and they used a glitch to run arbitrary code execution from the computer to collect the decals that were in the game data but impossible to get, like the safari ball here

The pidgeotto isn't illegal, you can catch level 9 pidgeotto in viridian forest on pokemon yellow. It just took him 3 years to use it

What makes Totodile the best Johto starter opposed to my boy Cyndaquil? When the Totodile line cannot learn all 3 water based HMs, which forces you to catch a 2nd water type Pokémon to get through the game. I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses the term "illegal" when referring to a trainer's/gym leader's/elite four's/champion's Pokémon that hasn't met the required level requirement.

1:40 because Pokémon can use natural items (like berries) no problem and you can cure poison and such on the fly rather than blow a turn on a heal item

Which itens you can't get by normal means in gold/silver? I know you need to transfer legendary pokemon from gen 1 to get brightpowder and pikachu from Yellow to get light ball

PSNCureBerry, PRZCureBerry, etc. exist because they can be used as held items, eliminating the need to spend a turn healing with antidote, etc.

Berries eliminated the need to use up a turn to use a full heal! with the downside of course being that the berries only healed specific status conditions until the lum berry was introduced in the third gen

something that always bothered me as a kid going from red/blue to gold/silver was the difference in getting the evolution stones. crystal made it somewhat faster but still tedious!

An easier Gold Berry to obtain than the Bug Catching Contest (funny that the 3rd place prize there is better than the 2nd place Everstone) is in the Goldenrod Dept. Store. There's someone on the 5th floor who will trade you their Machop for a Drowzee (Abra in Crystal), their Machop comes holding a Gold Berry. It's a handy Gold Berry too, I'd have a Pokemon hold it against Whitney for the automatic 30HP heal to tank another Rollout!

that Pidgeotto is not illegal. he is a natural born citizen not but seriously you can catch level 6 Pidgeottos in Yellow in the Viridian Forest like Ash did

Nice video! Would've like to see more of 'finding' the items rather than buying, but with so many I understand just buying them is easier. Especially for tracking. It's a shame this has so few likes, I can tell a lot of effort went into this, from research to recording. At least the algorithm seems to have picked you up, I found this video through my recommended. Thanks for the good content, and I'm looking forward to more.

Love these videos, as a kid i always tried to obtain all the tm's and different pokeballs but never managed to quite do it. As a suggestion for if you do more of these, maybe seperating the items into categories would be cool to see? So instead of just 1/200 items it would be 1/50 TM's, 2/ 12 Pokeballs and so on :D

You can't trade, so you can't get the strongest item to ever exist: The brick piece. Run is invalid, disliked, subbing just to unsub, 0/10 will never watch again.
