Happy 2024, Toby, and much needed peace for all. Finally back to sketching now that our halls are undecked. A bit of a medical hiatus on my horizon so most sketching for a time will follow the simple styles here. Quite appropriate lesson! Frances
Another awesome video Toby. This really showcases your way of working and the power of simplicity. The second piece in this video is especially delightful to me.
Good deal as always, Sir Toby. The second one, if people wonder ... well, that's what a sketchbook is for ... sketching. A quick fun sketch of something whether with crooked lines, missing windows, or lollipop trees, etc. 😊 Have some fun.
I love the beauty that comes out of these. Thank you for being so inspiring to all of us - and for sharing your process! I’ll have to find you on Skillshare since I joined recently. Happy New Year!!
Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate that you not only create beautiful sketches, you can talk while you’re doing it. 😂. Love the second sketch, so much energy and fun!
This is great, thank you. I really need to stop overcomplicating things! Wondering which ink you use in your fountain pen Toby as I am struggling to find a waterproof one?
@TobySketchLoose 🙂🤷♀️ it can't be helped sometimes, I'm not sure what it was. I always enjoy watching you draw, paint, and talk anyway 🙂💕. Some youtubers are just getting awful about background noise and music constantly through whole video while they're talking and not. To myself and I'm sure others it's just total sensory overload.😐🤷♀️
Hey Toby, I've started getting into drawing and watercolours since watching your videos but I still really struggle with perspective - particularly when looking down a street and the buildings going off into the horizon. Do you have any previous lessons you'd recommend I watch for this? Or any other advice?
I love the fact you emphasise that mistakes are ok. I particularly like the second sketch. I'm in the middle of doing your newest Skillshare course on abstract. Thought it would be totally out of my comfort zone, but I'm having great fun.
Urban sketching is where I’m weakest. This video is definitely a confidence boost. I loved the 2nd quick doodle more because it shows me how to start. Thank you!
