no more digging holes and squatting im guessing ? he he ! nice work , a big job done and dusted, you know it feels good !!!!! keep up the great work, cheers and take care
ha ha! Yes it is great to have a toilet. Although I have to be honest and say we had a porta loo! We're quite near a public right of way and I'm not sure how people would taket o us pooping in plain view! ha!
Hello Andrew ! Thank you yes that is correct and I have written it wrong. I will change the description just in case anyone is actually using this video! I will say for one-off falls between the toilet in the outhouse and the manhole we got a professional digger guy to dig the trench. It’s on a very steep slope which is too steep to get the right fall. He said it would be fine and it seems to be so far.... we do have an extra manhole on that stretch too just in case it get blocked....
So many owls! They hoot all night !we can hear them hooting all night from the yurt. Weather is rain almost all the time. We are in the north of England. Train line is fun! 🚞 sometimes they work on the line in the night and we can hear them from the yurt 😆
@@crabapplefarm7706 i am a Yorkshire man myself i know todmerton very well🙂 i envy you i could listen to owls all night i am going to assume they are twany owls. New sub here
@@crabapplefarm7706 it sounds like you might have barn owls do you hear the "hoo hoooo" answered by a shrill "kewik" which is a male twany serenading his mate and she responds with the kewik or does it sound like a shriek "skreeee" which is the barn owl
Nice descriptions! It’s defo mainly tawny owls from listening to what they sound like on RU-vid. Could be maybe the odd screaming barn owl too - but it does sound quite like the ones I heard on RU-vid so not sure...
Hi Colin, we did a flat concrete base for it then a block wall all around it then filled the block wall with sand. This is in order to stop it all moving and also to stop it freezing. It does say in the instructions what you need to do for different situations. I think it may be different if you are digging down in order to bury underground... Ours was an above ground installation, although we have now buried it. Good luck!
The particular system shown is designed by the manufacturer WTE to be suitable for above or below ground installation, but most commercially available tanks in the UK are not suitable for above ground use.
Hi! We had it ‘turned on’ professionally about 5 - 6 weeks ago and it is working really well so far. Needs someone to check on it every year which will cost £180 and then also emptying when required. It makes a bit of a noise but smells fine so far! We were told it might smell a bit while it gets going but it hasn’t. I’m also being careful to only use ecover type products. Think it’s pretty smart the way it works!
@@crabapplefarm7706 thanks for the fast reply, if you dont mind me asking where did you get it from and how much did it cost. I cant find any reviews on it on internet. Thanks again
No problem! I like sharing my knowledge since I had to work so hard to find it out. We got ours from WTE it was 2.4k including VAT , so pretty pricey compared to a septic tank I think. www.wte-ltd.co.uk/vortex_sewage_treatment_plant.html someone wanted to charge us like 8k to install it but as you can see it is technically possible to install yourself! If you don’t need to move it anywhere difficult and you already have pipes it probably wouldn’t be that bad...does need a flat surface though and a wall around it back filled with sand so some skill with concrete and block work is required. Good luck!
