It was unbelievable my son and I sat there in the living room for probably an hour or so the same not talking just in disbelief. 2Pac’s passing didn’t only affect those in and around Hip Hop his passing affected the entire world. i think this reaction was universal, my Mom and sister had to console me, it was unreal. It felt like a family member and the killing part about it is that I still get choked up sometimes about him.

I'd remember getting home from work and see the news and hearing what happened to 2pac and I was dumbfounded and stunned about his death and couldn't believe it was praying for his recovery rip brother 😭😭😭😭

I was in military school in the east coast when all this happened. When they announced it on the radio it wasn't very sensitive to the subject that all. I can't remember what station I was listening to I think Hot 97 it was in the 90s this was awhile ago I was still young . The whole gag was he was just going to survive and rap about it like he always does. Then when it came out that he was dead I swear to you cats was all cheering like someone won the football game . They was like Cali pac dead. See the east coast is back now. I called home and cats I knew from the streets that was toughguys was over there crying. people was throwing up. I didn't really believe it to be honest. Rip pac all these different makaveli mixtapes came out. Makaveli the original album was even out before he died out there cuz I heard it for about a week or two prior

I was in 7th grade when he passed. Was my favorite rapper. I remember being young so I had my pops buy me the rap cds. I remember not knowing the exact release date for all eyez on me. When I would visit my dad on the weekends we would go to the record store and see if it came out. This went on for like a month or so. Was so excited when it finally came out and surely was not disappointed. My favorite album of all time.

I remember things being kind of off after Pac and BIG died then out of nowhere we got DMX and Big Pun in 98' and a whole new age of Hip-Hop started but even then.. even till this day shit just isn't the same without Pac & BIG. Pun's passing hit me hard too.

No social media back then. I had just dropped this young lady off I was kickin it with and the radio announced his death. They either played crossroads or dear mama after and I just pulled over and balled like a baby lol. It was like I had just lost a close friend. September 13, 1996, is a day I would like to forget, but the 2Pac fan in me will always remember. I'd gone to school 🏫 that day and came home 🏡. My parents were leaving town that day. They left for the drive to GA (I'm from Detroit) at around 6 pm. I was at home 🏡 and about to watch a music 🎶 video 📹 show on BET. Three minutes into it at 7:03 pm, a BET spokesperson broke the news: "Death Row rapper Tupac Shakur has died." I just stared at the TV 📺 in shock 😲. I picked up the phone 📱 and started calling everyone I knew to tell them the news. They were just as sad as I was. I grabbed my CD 💿 player out of my room, took it to the living room, plugged 🔌 it in, and put on 2Pac's "Me Against the World 🌎 ". I lit some candles, turned off the lights, and let it play straight through from "Intro" to "Outlaw." His death was a downward spiral for hip hop.

Everybody remember where they were when that news hit. I was at a HS football game walking from the concession stand when my girlfriend walked up to me and hugged me and said “baby ya dude just died you ok?” I said what? Who are you talkin about?? I was in highschool at our football game….and there were two girls standing next to me and I overheard one tell the other “Girl, Tupac died today” It was on *FRIDAY THE 13th* ……. Even though game was still happening…crowd noises….band playing….stadium full of people….It felt like I was the only person there. Complete state of silence came over me and I couldn’t hear ANYTHING. My mind blocked everything out as I was overwhelmed with sadness and disbelief. Then came the Makaveli album and it was like his spirit was so heavy in air. Very eerie. Was he still alive?
