I would very much like it if you guys could please argue your opinions rather than just disagree with me. I want this to be a respectful conversation about the role and influence of social media on the art world and developing artists.

As a young beginner artist that started an ig art account i agree! Before having a social media acc i had still been drawing and much more often at that. I would draw sooo often and have the chance and time to try as many and silly things as i wanted, including practicing. However half a year after i started posting my work, my time to draw got much thinner due to school (and still continues getting less and less until i graduate). Because of that the few times i could draw i had the stress of having to produce only likeable things that were good enough to post. I got burned out i didnt like my art anymore and i felt frustrated because i always felt like i was wasting time. Stopped posting regularly from october. Only posted thrice until december and then my last post was in March. These breaks felt nice and i improved drastically because i only drew and studied with characters from the fandoms i liked (which were less popular than the fandoms i would post). When i posted in March my last post from a less popular fandom blew up and had the most likes on my account. Word of advice for artists would be to only start social media very later ESPECIALLY if they only pursue it as a hobby like i do. Only if it motivates them to draw more and they are not beginners/want to sell their work should they do one earlier. Otherwise it's very burdening and it makes them tie their likes to their arts' worth which sucks. Im a traditional artist so the algorithm is even harsher. I still feel like it was a poor decision making mine at 15 because i feel like i enjoyed drawing regularly a bit more when i didn't stress over something looking good enough for me to post. However having mutual artists is very heartwarming and the sweet comments are definitely motivating. That's it! Thank you for sharing your take and i apologize for mine being exhaustingly long ❤

it is easy once you get enough practice in, try drawing circles in one stroke. it doesnt have to be perfect but just draw the circles consistently

The real _fact_ is the circle is _not_ perfect. It _seem to be_ perfect in the more complete drawing. }} my point is he drew two ellipses, showing cross sections... {{
