Love Malta. We first visited in 1981 and we have returned 7 times since. It's like being in a huge museum! As for driving , on my first visit I asked a maltese gentleman which side of the road they drive on. His reply" in the shade" !! Loved the place eversince.

You're right! That small island nation is packing a lot of history. Without your trip, I would have never been exposed to it. Even though Malta 🇲🇹 is a long flight from where I live, it must be included on my travel bucket list. Thank you for taking the time to travel to Malta and visiting these historic sites...👍🏻👍🏻

Great Job, Mr. Traveller. My son and I made a simillar tour a couple of years back. Was awesome. Your video is well done indeed and brings back some great memories. I'm thinking of returning with my wife in the Autumn this year for a surprise, as she hasn't visited at all. We adore history. There are so many cool sites there and just wandering around and bumping into things is bliss.

I am from the UK and been to Malta many times, I love it. It has a marvellous history. Look out for coloured doors at the Waterfront the colours depicted Grain, Fish etc and the old coloured buses that sadly no longer run that depicted the towns as people could not read so colours gave them the information. I've visited all these places in your Malta vlogs. Whilst driving just keep turning left or right, Airport signs will take you south if in the north and follow signs for Gozo if you want to go north from the south and Mdina is in the middle. If you get lost remember you're still in Malta!

i also think it would be cool if somewhere in this series on malta you could capture the ambient noise of people speaking maltese so we could hear a glimpse of it. that would be sort of cool to me to hear. the best thing would be to go there, but i might have to wait a minute for that.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO MALTA BUT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT WOULD BE A PLACE I WOULD ENJOY WALKING AROUND SINCE I DON'T DO TOO WELL ON THE UP AND DOWN STREETS AND TRAILS. You could have paid the same price of the first hotel with breakfast in a less touristy place. Also, that smoke in the fields under Mdina is bad grass and weeds that occupy the fields. The farmers put them in one big pile and put it on fire to make space for new plants. You could have also visited one of the many feasts we have around the island during the summer.

The prison from the movie midnight express is located in Malta. I read that the oldest structure is in Malta...10,500 years old. Excellent video gabe! 👍👍

I got married there in 2006. Love the islands, loads of history, lovely restaurants, top hotels. The only down side is others have found out about this gem, it’s a lot busier😩, definitely more cars.

Unfortunately prices vary from shop to shop (I live in Fgura, Malta) and be warned shops do take advantage of tourists. I look like my late Scottish Father so touristy shops and kiosks asked alot, thinking I didn't know any better, but since I live here I know where the bargains are and what you should expect to pay.

Hi Gabriel, Amazing views of those Catacombs. I don't much of the history of Malta but If I'm not mistaken St Paul shipwrecked on the Island while preaching around Europe was imprisoned for two years in Malta. They also made an old movie called The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart about the famous small statue of a black falcon from Malta worth a fortune. I don't know if there's any truth to this.

Hello, I am Maltese! Just in case you did not know every town or village in Malta has a patron saint, some have more! I am from Żabbar. It is the 5th largest town in Malta, I recommend you give it a visit especially the parish church and see our titular statue. Pity you missed the beach next to Golden Bay - Riviera Beach - which is usually less crowded and far more beautiful. There's also Gnejna Bay accessible through Mgarr.

Been to Malta three times going back again in two month's time for the fourth. I agree with you 100%: Malta is a small island jam packed with history, beaches, many churches and old buildings etc. They have a good transport system and very relax lifestyle. Valetta has plenty to offer too but I love the island of Gozo and Mellieha Beach etc. In the past five years or so, there's been hotels and building developments everywhere and loads of them! Cranes and diggers etc are all over the place. Some Old Historic Buildings are compromised for a modern contemporary artworks and buildings etc. It will only be A MATTER OF TIME before Malta is changed forever IMHO.

In kenya car rental for 5 fiveseater is 30$ , 7 seater is 50$ per day inclusive . Hotel which is of good standard is 50$ if you have a connecting flight of 8- 24 hrs you can visit elephant orphanage or nairobi national park entrance is 30 $

I highly recommend you visit the chapel of annunciation , in zurrieq , a medieval Romania Catholic Church which is an extremely old church. I also recommend you visit the St Paul's cocathedral with arts of Caravaggio and Mattia Preti known as one of the most beautiful temples in the world.

Just be aware of that in Serbia, if you are not going to stay at an official accomodation such as staying at an Airbnb, you will have to register with local authorities on your own and receive a receipt to be shown upon leaving the country. If you stay at an official accomodation like a hotel or hostel, or B&B, they will do that registration for you and give you the receipt that border guards may or may not ask you to show, when leaving the country. So if going to Serbia I very highly suggest staying at an official accomodation! It's an amazing country, I have been there 3 times now.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Yes, basically any officially registered business which a hotel is. They are required by law to register you with local authorities, but sometimes they forget to give you the so called registration card which is the proof of your registration, so be sure to remind them to give you that! Unlike hotels and B&B's, many apartment rentals are not an official and taxed business. In any case, hotels are extremely cheap in Serbia, you will not have any problems!

@@GabrielTravelerVideos i should also mention that its extremely rare that they ask for proof of registration when leaving the country, but if they happen to do just that and you don't have it, they may fine you. This mostly unenforced law is also in most of former Yugoslavia, in Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and North Macedonia, though not Slovenia. Most visitors to these countries are not even aware of it but you can look up the rules with an easy search on Google (the country name + police registration). In Croatia it doesn't apply to EU citizens but to all others.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos I had similar problems in Myanmar. Hotels have to pay high cost to have liberty with foreigners. Because not many tourists, most don't pay for that liberty. How you know? they say yes or they say no rooms !! Maps me helps a little by pointing hotels who clearly accept foreigners. I had some hard frustrating time in Myanmar.... Maybe its easier for those traveling by bus or train. I don't know. I travel only with my own wheels and find myself often out of tourist areas when time to look for a room.

Malta is expensive if you live there . Today minimum wage is around 900 eur per month and to rent a flat ecc. Is around 600 eur , minimum

@@anniesteele were on earth did you find that? I had to find an apartment for a friend last year, 500 Euro got me an converted sub basement garage, or windowless 1 bedroom "open plan" in the cheapest suburbs. 1 bedroom in sliema with 1 window in the entire flat was 800 a month

Hi Gabriel, Question : Do you have an international driver's license? There are a few countries in which it's mandatory. It may not be heavily enforced, but if you happen to get pulled over by the "wrong" cop, it can turn ugly. It happened recently to a relative. That's how I know. It was a random stop.. He spent big $$ on attorney fees. Still not over. Just get one from any AAA office in the USA. It's about $30. It's basically a translation of your license in a few languages.

I don't and I need to get one. I got pulled over in Greece and it was an issue, but luckily the cop let me go without incident.
