Christian, Today’s time blending effects are very informative, your presentation is excellent with a great work behind it. Thank you so much for that! It is a bit hard for me to catch up with you at the first time, so later on I will try it again, particularly with Photoshop. I just would like to know about how to shoot a light track for the cars in the road in darker night, for example, how to set the exposure time, aperture, or ISO, it may help me to understand more about today’s presentation.

Thanks a lot for the kind comment! The exposure time depends on the length of the road: If the road is short, then the car will be quicker driving the whole stretch. If its a long road, the exposure time needs to be longer so you can capture the car from start to finish so to say. For this scene 30 seconds were enough to capture the cars going up / down this stretch of road. Once you found the right exposure time, you can then adjust ISO, aperture and so on. As you only want to capture the car lights, you dont need to make the photo super bright to have details i nthe shadows (this would totally blow out the car lights). Usually, playing around for a few minutes with different settings you can get a very good idea which settings will work! I hope I was able to help you with these settings :-)

Christian, you can save some time in PS by just copying the layer mask to each layer, instead of redrawing it.

You're correct Daniel! Copying the layer mask makes it even faster!

How to take photos is related to how to edit them to create a photo according to what the person wants to express.

Great video for someone like me that is not confident in photoshop but how did you get the completed image back into lightroom and what did you do with all those layers??
@ThePhlogPhotography
@ThePhlogPhotography 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment! The PS file got imported into LR as I was opening all the images (you cna simply import PS files) However, that was on accident, and I did not edit it further in Lightroom

Christian, once again, thank you so much. Can you recommend a decent tripod for a Sony a7IV? I once had a tripod for my Nikon D600, back in the day, and it was always shaky (maybe because I needed to use a remote?). Is there a sturdy tripod that won't "break the bank?"
@ThePhlogPhotography
@ThePhlogPhotography 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the comment! So, I actually will be uploading a tripod review type like video soon where I quickly go over different tripods I own. Currently, I use the Feisol CT-3442 as my main tripod and it works like a charm but its expensive. If you want it a bit cheaper, I can recommend the KF Concept A254C4 which I tested over the past months. I personally would not use one of these super cheap no name tripods, since they are a danger to your camera (speaking from own expereience lol)!

Looks pretty good! Just one tip… Instead of selecting lighten for each layer, you could have selected all of the layers you want to affect, and then change the blending mode. It would help save some keystrokes. Semantics… But just figured I would throw that out for any other readers that didn’t know.
@ThePhlogPhotography
@ThePhlogPhotography 3 месяца назад
Thanks for pointing that out, that is indeed a bit faster than changing layer for layer individually!
