Everyone saying, it looks like a blue, can’t be a black, fake speed etc. Firstly the camera angle is incredibly wide so it makes it look a lot flatter, I’d recommend filming yourself on a black and you’ll see the difference. And pause right at the start and look at the angle of the chairlift to realise how steep it actually is. I’m not saying it is the steeped black out there and there are probably a lot of reds that are similar (hence why he could just bomb it) but it is definitely not a blue
Nah we are saying it’s a blue bc in America this is a blue. Just because it’s straight down doesn’t make this a black lol. Any resort in America would be skeptical to even call is it blue.
@@Simplthegod you can't say it by a video. I think he's on the alps. If they say it's black, then it's black xD. Never saw a downhill with the wrong slope in my life
@@stefdearlife like I said just bc it’s straight down doesn’t mean it is a black, and I have definitely been to resorts in France and some of their slope that were labeled black would not blacks in America. It’s just my opinion and a lot of other peoples opinions in this comment section. 🤷♂️ it’s a blue to me.
@Matt. So u seriously believe he dose 116 kilo Siemens or kilo seconds?? Explain to me how he generated that much electrical conductance or time! Have u ever done 116 km/hours Clearly not, there's several things wrong that is a clear indication this is fake. But u haven't done 100+km/h on a snowboard so u can't recognise them. I have with certified and calibrated measuring equipment good enough for the world Cup downhill skiing. Countless of times. The only chance he dose it is if he have a jet engine on his back. It's bloody obvious it's in km/h even a brain dead dude would realise that.... At most and now I'm being very generous he is doing around 90 km/h.
120km/h is about roughly 74-75mph. Which is about on par. I've hit around 45-50mph before. And biffing it at that speed hurts. A lot. Can't imagine getting upwards of 70 and catching my edge...
@@kristofferljungberg5057 doesnt seem too crazy to me , my top speed while skiing was i believe 92km/h so i can see how he got it. Also hard to imagine why he would lie about the speed no?
Even if the haters are right that it's not steep and not that fast, you should still be stoked. Anyone who is stoked about what they did should receive the same energy. No matter where your skill level is at, if you're pushin yourself you're a legend in my book.
@@micklenier6152 I dunno, I didn't wipe that much, only bad one I had was going between trails and didn't realize they had dug a snow ditch, and it was night skiing, so I did a flip and landed on my upper spine. I could barely walk for a few days.
So the lift poles are approx 150m apart from each other. And the time he takes to go from one to the other is 5 seconds. Which leads to the conclusion that he is travaling 30 m/s which is 108 km/h!!
One of the few that actually think so and are correct. That's flying and must be pretty steep to get going that fast. I've been up to 67 and was my limit. That's a tremendous amount of leg strength and guts.
It happened to me once because I saw a guy like this do it so I thought I would grow some balls and copy as a newer snowboard. Almost like a right to passage. Terrifying experience when the wobbles kicked in.
I reached 87km/h (a personal record I think) and than caught an edge. Been a month and my neck still hurts. I didn’t reach a 100 which was my goal, still, it was worth it
Even though it’s steep, black runs in my country are graded based on difficulty. There was not a bump in sight on that groomer. My home mountain has blue runs steeper than that.
Is home America, home of the “It’s got to be mogulled to be hard!” Come to France there are really steep blacks with no moguls and a lot more fun and scary than those mogul pistes
In Canada it is similar we would call that a blue for sure. The blacks we have can be easy but never are they groomed if they were like this i would go straight down on my skis.
Hahaha. It’s not the camera angle that makes it look like a blue or green. It’s the skiers casually standing upright slowly putting down the not black run
Been there its Ischgl austria. It is very steep but not "challenging". In the afternoon it will be much worse. The Run you can spot on the other side of the mountains is one of europes steepest runs.
@@JKeltTV you are assuming he went that fast. Look at the skiers next to him. Fully upright not challenged at all. Plus Blue slopes in the US go up to 22 degrees. Where in Canada and Europe only 17 degrees.
@@JKeltTVI reached 90 km/h on a rolling hilled Blue run, but that was full out on my board.... and only reached 96 km/h on a Black run because it gets sketchy going that fast on a steep run!!
My speed record on skis is 132 kph(82 mph), and the same day I did that I went around 90 kph(55 mph) down a black run. Great story to tell and the adrenaline high was something else but I'm not in a hurry to do that again.
Man that brings back memories. 116 kmh is my personal speed record on a snowboard too. Our hill had some slight swells in it that could give a guy 30-40' of flying time here and there but never get more than a few inches off the ground. But it takes a good steep hill to get that kinda speed unless you're a lot more aerodynamic than me. Purden Mountain just east of Prince George, BC. The bottom half just send it straight under the yellow lift.
Yes, but in the States black is like red in France. (A double black is a black in France.) And in France there are also hudge differences between the level of different black slopes, some blacks are really easy, (like not harder than a difficult red) and some parts of some blacks really hard.
Yeah that’s fast! The fastest I’ve ever recorded was 74, I’ve probably been faster but not much, I’d say 80 is probably about the fastest I’d go, I’ve been snowboarding for like 25 years
I've hit 58 mph (Garmin GPS watch) on my board going flat out in Vermont, so kinda steep but not really steep... I went out to the West Coast the next year for some riding and forgot my watch! I was so worried about not packing my snowboard and stuff but forgot my gopro and watch lol oh well
For the Americans, he reached _65 miles per hour,_ which might not sound like a lot to some of us with heavier foots, but I can fucking assure you, it's a lot when you're doing it solely through the power of gravity
TWINS! :D (though I ski) the fastest I’ve gone was right about at 69mph. I had my music going in my ears and all I could hear was the wind, truly an awesome experience for professionals :)
AWW HELLA IVE BEEN THERE ON SNOWBOARD LIKE 2 MONTHS AGO. GUYS ITS REALLY LIKE 40 - 45 DEGRTEES STEEP, IN SOME PLACES EVEN MORE. I've even "skied "down it (it was vere steep as i said, and im a begginer so i barely made anything, still prty fun). If im not mistaken it goes under palinkopf, the straight road you can seegoing through the ridge, is blue , and the one going to the right is a red that leads to swiss side. for information of any reader, the village name is Ischgl, Austria and on the swiss side its Samaun, Switzerland. Overall its really fun to ski there and looks like he got some great conditions too. nice pow on the way, not everything wiped out. That means you probably were there early in the morning. I wish i could go there again, so much fun
This is about 71mph for anyone who prefers freedom units. Idk if the video has been manipulated in some way but 0 to 70 in about 15 seconds on a straight steep groomer is totally possible.
Spent some time in Japan recently bombing down their reds and tended to hit terminal velocity at much lower speeds than this vid. You don't get to 120 that quickly on a run if it isn't steep.
I bombed a black diamond slope once with skis, the workers there asked if I was ok once i was done and then gave me a demonstration of how to go back and forth on it 🤣 Note that I didn't wipe out or anything
120kmh is roughly 75mph…. Absolutely BOMBING IT… I hit 40mph as a 3 years of experience boarder in my 40’s… felt like I was breaking the sound barrier 😂😂😂
I loved doing this in my resort. We have a slope which you can take straight ( but there is a huge turn at the end). I reach 106km/h on it, my board shaked so much
