@@GARAGEIdiotS 550whp/500wtq on a gt35 @18psi, currently on 22psi though. Having a lot of high iat issues. Hitting 180* by the end of the 1/4. Looking to up the turbo size and get new big tube headers installed. What size turbo did you guys end up running? I was thinking about the gt45 ball bearing

"Bracket Racing" the goal is to get as close as possible to the low number, without beating it. Usually see people racing in the same bracket against each other, 11.50 in the 1/4 mile for example. To break out of the bracket would be to go faster than you were supposed to (

My class was an 11.5 index so I can’t go faster than 11.5, I was treating this event as practice and was trying to go “too fast” haha

@@GARAGEIdiotS I would look into an idle air control valve, but I don't know if that engine is equipped with one.

@@GARAGEIdiotS you might also try adjusting the idle parameters on the ecu.

I’ve checked a bit, my thought are if there was a leak bad enough to make it idle like that, I don’t think it would build up all the boost that it is

@@GARAGEIdiotS it dont take a big leak. the problem is the computer trying to compensate making it go like a yoyo. maybe brent can see it in the log what its compensating for to guide you closer. all the electric gizmos in modern vehicles can also be its achilles heel. like some semis will go into limp mode if enough bulbs is blown because it read a wrong resistance. just imagine driving in the mountains with a heavy load and suddenly computer reduce your engine power and rpm to 1/3 to keep it "safe" leaving you in a super dangerous situation..

Sure is!!! Power to weight baby! POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO! I daily a 2017 Mk7.5 Fiesta SE, with the notorious DPS6, right now. It's a dual dry clutch. It's surprisingly capable, and of course can be shifted manually, or left fully automatic. A person could do paddle shifters... The DPS6 isn't happy, unless it's being driven hard. The forks like to start sticking, from dust buildup, unless you shake the dust out, by driving it hard. Ford sold the DPS6 cars to the wrong kind of drivers....slow, cautious drivers, who creep in traffic, or otherwise ride the clutch, always have problems with the transmission. People who drive jt hard, don't have any real issues, from the 2017 model years, on. I run Royal Purple Synchromax. Good fluid, like the Royal Purple, or Amsoil's Synchromesh, last a long time, because there is no clutch dust getting in it. The DPS6, is also easy to drop, and work on. I'm about to add valved air jet fittings to the clutch side of mine, for blowing clutch dust out, every 10k or so. You would want to clear the dust out more often, if using it to drag, or rally...... A big Eaton roots blower on this 1.6, would be wicked! Ford, and M-Sport stick to turboing, but a blower would also be dope! This engjne can be set up to make a good amount of power, for it's size. In 2017, a turboed manual version, dominated WRC, taking the overall season win, for M-Sport. @@GARAGEIdiotS

The idle surge is because your too lean on idle. Add some fuel it wont surge.
