How Fast Is The 200 HP Ford Fiesta ST? Hot or Not Review 

I know 200hp isn't 'fast', but I'm currently driving a 155hp Mazda 3 manual that weighs in at a solid 200lbs heavier than the Fiesta, so it's still gonna be a decent step up for me. Plus I can take out a muffler or cat and be extra roudy. The idling skyactiv engine sounds like it has a bag of rocks in the pan.

does your '17 ST have the Recaros? i'm trying to decide if they're worth it or not. Plus, i'm kind of a big guy at 6'2', 255. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

@@turbogeoduck1 I may be a little too late since your comment was posted over 2 months ago, but I got a chance to sit in both the regular seats and the Recaros and personally I thought the Recaros were too agressive for daily driving. The regular seats are much more comfortabl, at least in my opinion. The only drawback would be that you dont get a heated seat option without the recaros, but in California that isnt really a problem.

@@turbogeoduck1 I test drove both with and without the Recaros and I bought a used 2017 without them. I think they would be great for someone slightly smaller than me, but for anyone above the 6' mark or slightly overweight they are a bit uncomfortable.

What tires have you tried previously? I had the non plus version and I wasn't too impressed. They were alright.

@@tweedpenguin712 Because I drive hard in turns, and actually I’m on my 6th now, at 98,800. I have them rotated every 5,000 miles. I have the Pilot Sport Michelin A/S 4’s, I had two sets of the A/S 3+, there warranty was 45,000 miles and I wear them out at 20,000+ so the pro rate them so get the next set for $480 it’s a deal, they grip so good, and there smooth riding and quiet and never track on freeway grooves. Highly recommend these tires. The Fiesta Flash 🤙🏼🍺🍺

Just Me, I agree; TFL generally does a pretty good job but is starting to fall into the clickbait trap more and more IMO. I know channels like this live by clicks and with the current RU-vid algorithm, it makes it tough but it still doesn’t feel right and honorable when I see it.

There is another agenda at play here. Ford is not the only car maker quietly doing away with the manual transmission. They are also doing away with the normal automatic transmissions and are all going to these new garbage CVT monstrosities that are nothing but a $4000 rubber belt that wears out around 30K-100K miles so you have to either buy another transmission or buy another crap car. Planned obsolescense all under the fake premise of "govt mandated fuel econonmy" . HOGWASH! That has NOTHING to do with it! They could make the normal style vehicles get 80 mpg if they wanted to but they are in cahootz with Big Oil so they must scratch each other's backs. This whole CVT thing is also so the govt can control our cars remotely due to them being run off some kind of programmable computer disc. More govt CONTROL is what it all boils down to and every time the govt sticks their big long hook nose into our business......we get a good screwing and nothing ever is the same again.

Im sure that car was a lot lighter also so power to weight ratio was much better in the old ford.

728 Autos I just figured they would've sold better if they made them AWD. Especially in states with snow. I've never understood why American manufacturers let Subaru corner the market on that. I'm an F150 and V8 Mustang guy but I do talk to a lot of people at auto meets. A lot of them with a Subaru or AWD Mitsubishi said that they loved the ST because it was light and fast, but the AWD swayed them elsewhere.

Metalbass79 adding AWD to something isn't going to make it sell better. The market numbers show this. Sure it might tickle the fancy of us enthusiast but we are but a small niche and niche products aren't going to be money makers for Ford.

also the 0-60 doesn't reflect how fast the car is. you don't get full boost in first gear and you have to shift to hit 60mph. also the tune-ability of the car and after market support is amazing. i recommend the car if you are into small quick cars. there is nothing that compares to the deal this thing is.

Without any marketing campaign, of course sales are down. How do you buy a product, if you don't know it exists. LOL To sell the fiesta, focus, fusion, etc. One does not need to be number one. How about top 5 or even top 10??

Honda and Toyota has great car sales. The problem with Ford is the quality of the cars they are selling. I bought a regular Ford fiesta as a commuter and it was nothing but junk, the transmission was constantly slipping, multiple electrical issues, and the dealer didn't want to warranty some of the issue while the car had less than 5000 miles on it.

Well, folks are buying Ford's most iconic models, the F-series trucks (71 years, over 40 million sold) and the Mustang (54 years, over 9 million sold). Both outsell the competition, so Ford gives them more love. Fusion & Flex are recommended buys from Consumer Reports. I'm surprised they didn't get rid of the Focus, which has similar problems to the Fiesta.

Blastez YT yes there is a 2018 but there won't be a 2019. In Europe they have the new one for 2018 while in the US it stayed the same as the 2017 for it's last year here.

I have a 2016 Focus ST with 108000 all stock. Surprisingly Ford drew my attention and proved me wrong. Only thing that sucks is that the interior quality consist of hard plastic but as far as performance, a true bang for buck.

Here you can get a used Mazda speed 3 cheaper than a used Fiesta ST I believe, I almost got one but the crazy torque steer and unruly nature kind of scared me away from it, I haven't driven one though. Some people say it's not that bad, others say it's a bit nuts.

They're a mile above sea level. Air isn't as thick there. At sea level it's more around 7 seconds. for a 1.6 liter that's more than respectable. That's only a half second slower than the supercharged 3.8 liter in the grand prix GTP for a difference of 2.2 liters, both forced induction.

buildmorefarms100 if you paid attention to the video it showed the lap times of 2 VW GTIs and they were 2 seconds slower than the Fiesta ST.

BaileyPaws similar cars.. I think the ST would be quicker around that course, and 0-60 short wheelbase hatchbacks love Corning... but the civic will shine in real life driving.. the new Si is a bullet on the highway for what it is..

The Si is faster in a straight line. It did an 8.02 vs the fiesta st 8.55 when it was 0-60 tested. The fiesta will perform better on this specific track because of its smaller frame which is better for a corner mostly track like this one

Not a fan of the Civic si at all, I wanted to like it but it doesn't handle at all, the Fiesta runs rings around it. We tested it last year.

If I'm not mistaken the Si was listed on the list of lap times and it was near the bottom. And the new Si isn't very fast at all. I raced a couple with my Focus ST and I easily pulled away. The previous generation was faster.

Michael Reitz wrong. Stop pulling shit out of your ass. Coming from the last gen Si and this gen Si, the new one is easily faster and it isn't even close. Even the current gen non Si civic is fastee than the previous gen Si.
