I became Barca fan in 2010 when i got disillusioned with cricket and started watching club football. Barca ticked because of their spearheading of the Catalan identity. And i found out about their Femeni team in 2016 and was following their social media channels to keep a tab. I couldn't watch them play on TV or internet due to the lack of broadcasting. I became seriously interested in womens football after watching the 2019 worldcup! So much quality! After that and the Barca's defeat in UWCL finals, i started following barca femeni seriously. I bought subscription for Barca TV+ to watch them play and spend good amount of time in finding broadcast for away matches or follow live match feeds. Started writing and interacting with fans across barca related forums. This team is such a joy to watch and they have become my no#1 supported team in a short notice. It now has become a mission for me to watch them play live in stadiums! Hope to achieve that in 2-3 years and repeat it after (obvious as I live in India and its a long journey to Catalonia!) I will however do it as i wish to get autographs from Alexia, Lieke Martens and Caro Hansen before they retire! Visca Barca!
Your story reminds me of my own! Also, as a Barcelonian, Catalan and culer, it fills me with joy to know that people from all around the world know about and understand our culture and traditions. I've always thought that one cannot separate Barça from Catalonia and viceversa, but many people tend to forget that, yet claim they are culers! How can they be when they don't know about the club's history and the importance Catalonia has as part of it? 🤔 Anyway, that's enough of a rant. 😂 I'm sure you will accomplish your dream of watching a game live soon. I can tell you first hand that it's a great experience for both the show that's put on the pitch and in the stands, and not only in huge games like this one but also in regular league games. 💙❤
Three main reasons for the sudden rise in popularity of FC Barcelona Femeni, They are winning. And winning by a HUGE margins. No one would have bat an eye if they weren't doing so. They are playing the Barca way. The short, quick effortless passing, sharp movement and good finishing are reminiscent of Barca's golden days of past and Barca fans like it more than winning. Well, some even say they prefer losing playing well than barely winning by not playing well. (Playing well= playing the Barca way) And lastly, the men's team has been going through tough time for some time now and the Femeni have risen to the occasion, so much so that the Camp Nou recorded another World Record attendance for the Barca Femeni game against Wolfsburg on Friday.
@@jeanfrancoispeyrou9211 Wouldn't say nowhere. What the final showed was that they weren't drilled enough to play against physical and experienced opponents like Lyon. The Spanish league is a very weak league at the moment and there's literally no competition for Barcelona Femeni team as compared to the French league. I'm no expert women's football in either of the leagues but I'm willing to believe the commentators and the pundits, and this is what they pointed out. Also, they need to work on their finishing. They missed A LOT of chances.
@@jeanfrancoispeyrou9211 a year later, wolfsburg tried to do the same, but they came back. Another element of the lyon game, first goal was worldie, and that made them mentally weaker. However, that made them much more.mentally stronger now.
Last season I suddenly realized that I loved watching the Barca Femini Queens more than the men's team. I'll support both though, just like I support La Masia. It's just that I've seen so much progression in such a short time with Barca Femini, our queens really are world class! 💙❤️👑🏆⚽
Barça Femeni has been phenomenal. I love how they've pushed Real to also have a professional femenino team. The years ahead are something football fans, particularly of said clubs are looking forward to.
Que que me puedo llevar después este equipo es maravilloso y yo quiero que hable en español porque no entiendo el idioma que quiero que hable en español todos yo solo los españoles hablan en español y yo digo lo que están diciendo que no lo entiendo
@Sebastian Saam It will be the match of the season, no doubt. Before the defeat with Wolfsburg I would put the chances solidly into Barça's side, but the psychological effect of that match make the finals more equal and undecided. It will be a great match in any case.
Im so proud about this team ive watched them many times and ill keep watching. My father as well. And my Friends Also. Thing are changins and we are proud about it
They just broke the record AGAIN! Not because it was El Clásico... this time it was against Wolfsburg. The people are flocking to a team that honors everything 'Més que un club' is supposed to mean. Especially how well they play!
Exactly! I think you can see that fans really appreciate this team. The fact that after their victories everyone stayed to celebrate with the players says a lot about what people want to see. You simply cannot not support them. They have so much passion and gratitude which only infect others. The best atmosphere this season has been at women's matches in Champions League. Fans just feel connected to them and that's great. Those players deserve that recognition.
Saludos barca femenil desde Costa Rica pura vida les apollamos esperamos algún día vengan de gira a mi país y podamos disfrutar de su excelente juego. Dios les acompañe y protega siempre
I find what Mr. Roures said disappointing at its best. Having two girls who like futbol, we struggle finding the content, ads, and news about the women’s league. We do want to see Women’s matches. Probably it will not give the millions Men’s do in the first year (or two or three), but Spanish society is shifting, maybe they should too? Starting with their mindsets.
Women's football is growing more and more and we have to rise to the occasion. On Sunday there will be a new women's classic at the Montjuic stadium and 40,000 tickets for the game have already been sold
Barca Femeni is phenomenal They should keep it up This is just better than the men’s compared with success recently The origin story is even better and more motivating
Effectively, right now when the male Barça team looks like with not way, the female team is a nice reminder, an amazing bulwark, that the Barça style is still alive. Visca Barça Femení.
Sometimes I wonder, if we have Barca's men's and women's teams face each other at this moment, who will win. I ask the same question about USMNT and USWNT. Will physicality win, or will identity carry them past?
Physicality would win, no doubt about it. But this is exactly why I lean towards Women's football. Men have set aside talent and have become gym-freaks, runners and boxers but no longer talented. Mbappe is not talented, he's just more talented than Haaland but both of them are a lesser, much lesser version of CR7. Which is himself more gym than pure talent. Just look at Brazil! Where are the Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, or this generation? All you can find is MUSCLE.
@@tonyt.r.5313 I'm in love with your comment. That's exactly what I say too. It is exactly the lowest physical level of women who allow women's football to be so more passionate.
Well this is just like having Roger Federer and Serena Williams face each other for the Australia Open. It's irrelevant for men and women sports to compete each other
That comparison is childish and utterly irrelevant. Appreciate them for what they are, support their effort, vibe with their achievements and enjoy them both.
Thats why we call it 'Mes que un Club'. Probably we are more than a club. You will never see a complete club like this. Our philosophy is always unique. Visca el Barca from a Ceylonese.. 💙♥️
You're not the only one. I, Brazilian, almost can not watch the games of male football in general. And what the female Barcelona does for the sport is something great, more than for the sport, for society, I would say.
Barcelona urgently needs some competition in both LaLiga and CL. I'm surprised that their domestic league games draw as many as 3k spectators as they're all extremely one-sided. Barca's football might be flashy but it's not too hard to do when the opposition offers little resistance. By contrast, in the US league (NWSL) the competition is much tighter, so any American team attracts bigger audiences to their regular season games than their European counterparts (10-15k at any Portland Thorns' home game, for instance)
@Sebastian Saam In NWSL, there was a period when North Carolina had a dominance over the rest of the comp (albeit not as pronounced as the one enjoyed by Barca in LaLiga). But this year, it can be one of 5-6 teams to win it. I wish it was like that in any European league but alas
Send Barça to the French league and they will suffer against Lyon, PSG, Paris FC, Fleury, Bordeaux, Montpellier... I doubt that there Barça will manage to be classified in the first 3 places and many Barça players would go to visit the infirmary because it's like the nwsl and the Spanish ballerinas would not physically resist during all this French championship which is rough and physically intense....
@@litogor Surely an exaggeration but yes, Barca would clearly benefit from stronger competition in the domestic league. Real and Atletico just need to invest more in their women's teams, it doesn't cost that much
This bunch looks like more watchable than the USWNT. I've to be honest, the only women's football game I watched was I think the women's ucl final a few years ago between barca and lyon and I think lyon won 4-1. Competitive but not exciting.
I don't really know all the story. I'm not going to pretend that i've been watching for 15 years. But their rise in this period is unmatched. To give some context, Spain was not really in the elite of womens football at all. No spanish team reached the UWCL quarterfinals until Barça did it for the first time, more than 10 years after the creation of the competition. And the spanish National team is now on their third world cup in a row, but they never made It before. So, I guess the Spanish League wasn't the best League at all. And even in that context, Barcelona finished the 2006-07 in last position (out of 14 teams) and got relegated with only 4 wins and 4 draws in 26 games. Given how even now some teams are not truly profesional, It is hard to imagine how much worse than the 2006-07 champions they were, considering they were relegated in a league that wasn't top either. Nobody in the club really cared about the team, and the section was on the verge of dissappearing, something that obviously never happened. After this, the team only became better and better. The relegation season was the first one under Xavi Llorens, who managed the club for 11 years. I'm not really sure, but I think I have watched my first FCB Femeni game (a Champions league match) when he still was the coach. Despite the Bad start, under this coach the team was in a permanent rise for the next ten seasons. The team got promoted quite comfortably in the next season and finished 6th out of 16 in their comeback year to Primera División, with 14 wins and 7 draws in 30 games. Much better than two years ago. They kept growing step by step and they won the cup in 2011. From then on, the real suceed started. Barcelona won four leagues in a row from 2011-12 to 2014-15 and won some ties in the Champions (until this season there was no group stage, only knockouts), reaching quarterfinals once. In 2015 the club announced the womens team became fully professional. I don t know if in other top leagues all the teams are really pros, but even today relegation teams in Spain are not fully professional or, if they are, their resources are Bety limited. I think Barca was the first team oficially pro in Spain, so It was a big bet by the club. This was a weird time. In Europe, they kept getting better. They reached semis in 2017 (Llorens left after that) and the final in 2019. Their spanish players kept growing, they signed Guijarro and Aitana Bonmati came from their youth teams. And they started to sign international elite players. Specially Lieke. But despite all of that, they failed to win a single League in those 4 years. The last 3 were won by Atletico de Madrid. My possible explanation is that since the league was not really profesional, Barca and Atlético won virtually all games against the rest. And Barca tended to flop against Atletico despite being much better in Europe and, in the reality, a more talented team. And since the final against Lyon, the improvement has been massive. They hace won all the leagues since them. This year they have won 29 out of 29 League games and are one game away (against Atletico de Madrid, what a coincidence) from making the perfect League. I think the League is better than years ago, but I guess Barça grows even faster. And in the Champions, they Lost against wolfsburg in 2020, what was really painful because they played at least as good, if not better. And we well never know if they would have beat Lyon, but their possibilities were higher than the year before, that s sure. And from then on I think everyone knows the story. Barça won the last Champions destroying Chelsea in the final and made to the final again this year, against Lyon, the club that won the last 5 Champions in a row until last year. Barça never eliminated them, so It is the perfect matchup. Barça wants revenge and to make It clear that we are on their era and Lyon wants their crown back. Obviously, Barça has invested money in some foreign star that are important pieces of the team. But the main reason of the success is that they have developed a lot of the National young players they signed with a lot of patience and that they also invested a lot in developing young talent from their academy. La Masía is now a thing for women too, as we can see with players like Pina or specially Aitana. And if a player reflects the steady growth of the team, that is Melanie. She already was on the team when they got relegated and is on her second consecutive Champions final. Obviously she is not a starter and Will probably leave the club or retire after this season, but she has had to inprove a lot in order to stay, even if It is as a bench player for the last few years.
best 2nd team in europe maybe,,,, fed up with those spaniards thinking they are the best a football on top barça men is a bankrupt team and should be in 2/3 division with Real M too the banks and the king are not covering those debst anymore
No no Barca are not even in the top two teams! This year, PSG and Bayern were much stronger! Obviously, you could not have known it because PSG had difficulty eliminating Bayern in the 1/finals and then Lyon had difficulty eliminating PSG in the semi-finals. If Barça had met PSG or Bayern, they would not have gone to the final because they would not have endured the physical intensity imposed by PSG or Bayern...as against Lyon...
Wolfsburg won 6-0 and 3-1 against Bayern and Barça won 5-1 against Wolfsburg so don't tell me Bayern is better than Barça even PSG couldn't win last 3 games against Barça the the only team that Barça couldn't win against yet is Lyon.
Barcelona better in 2021 only because they miraculously avoided Lyon thanks to the unexpected feat of PSG! Unfortunately for Barça, this year PSG did not reproduce the feat of beating Lyon so things will go back to their place....Lyon will win their 8th Champions League because they have never lost against Barça...
@@winphet Yes it's true I know women's football quite well! The real final was Lyon vs PSG in the 1/2 final this year! Lyon and PSG are clearly superior teams to Barça in terms of physical intensity and running speed. The victory in the final was predictable for Lyon (except for the chauvinistic idiots of Barça...🤣) If I had to rank the potential of the teams that were in the 1/4 finals this year: 1) Lyons 2) PSG 3) Bayern 4) Barcelona 5) Juventus 6) Wolsfburg 7) Arsenal 8) Real Madrid In 2023 watch out for PSG which will be formidable....😉
@@dwkickoff it's because Barcelona is not a german team. there was no need to make Barca femenì's achievement about Barca men's team. But you do it anyway just to make Barca men's team look bad and miserable. First you started with that propaganda video of your's with the title "shameful that's the word" just to destroy barca's reputation. again you went and did it to Chelsea's owner calling him an idiot in your video titled "how idiots invest in football". you try so hard to make other team's out side of german look bad and destroy there reputation. for example what you did in this video you used Barca femenì against Barca men's team just to spread your propaganda. But we know the truth about DW what owns it and it's politics it's all connected it's a vessel for GERMAN PROPAGANDA. Well here is an idea why don't you make a video titled "shameful that's the word how an idiotic team FC Bayern Munich got knocked out of UCL by Villarreal"
Rest assured Allen, we are a just normal football fans, not the Gestapo, and we're not all German either, btw. Where to start? Dave (USA) didn't call Chelsea's owner an idiot, quit the opposite, he said that with powerful investors like Mr A in the business, investing in football now is not a smart move. Nothing against Barça either, great club, Hecko (Mexico) just saw and told an interesting story, don't you think it is? Soon Oli (UK) will make a video about the fall of his club Arsenal. Maybe we'll revive the Gunners that way. Well, and Bayern idiotic? No, they made it to the CL's final 8 and became German champions for the 10th time in a row yesterday. In fact, they dominate the Bundesliga so much that we should make a video about how boring German top football has become. Would that be propaganda to you? Stick around and enjoy the videos, Allen.
Except 90,000 at Camp Nou. And millions of TV spectators and tens of thousands in the stadiums during the women’s EURO in England. Otherwise no one. Oh yeah and that England victory went by unnoticed in that country. This is 2022, too late for subzero statements of this kind.
@@dwkickoff The womens euro final ticket was way cheaper than mens Women: £15 to £50 Men's: £250 to £511 to £811 And in some other websites people even bought it for £10,000 +
As a barcelona fan, I honestly enjoy and like watching the barca femeni more than the Men's team. They play with passion and clear identity which is the barca way and they make us proud but the main team is just a joke lately even though xavi is trying to bring back the soul of the team.❤💙 #Visçaelbarca
@@girishk7234 We have been struggling since the international break bro its not just 2 games. The team is plagued by injuries I know but the recent drop of form is very worrying as xavi said. No intensity, poor finishing, poor positioning, bad defence and so on.
@Donquixote Doflamingo Sure, it doesn’t have to be. But we can only have that conversation when the Femeni team reaches a fraction of the main team’s viewership, income, and accomplishments.
@@RahulChaudhary-dc4jjIf you mean the 2010-11 Liga, luckily every match was video recorded. We know how Real de Madriz pulled that one off !!! 🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠
Great reporting. Very insightful. Thank you. As always upto immaculate German standards. This Barca Femeni reminds me so much about Zico, Socrates, Falcao, Eder of Brazil 1982.
Well, what a great story of Barça Femini 🔥❤️ I feel Many FCs who have done a great work in women's football before big clubs started taking interest should also get similar recognitions.
👍Worth waiting two months!! I'm hoping that Madrid CFF would turn their youth academy into a springboard for their senior team. They have several teams that compete with the boys' teams and hold their own. Leila played for Femení for two years, played three seasons Valencia before turning to Barcelona. 🤔 I thought they were playing in the Miniestadi in 2012. Great video!!
I get that it was a different time/Franco years, but my god that "ref" who was just wearing every day clothes should have been ashamed of himself. Have some respect for your own job.
As usual, very good journalism piece. It's to note that valors and work ethics transcend genres, and once people realize that, additional doors will open to women all around the world. Barça's the perfect example of this.
They're the best women's football team in the world. They play with speed and skill, and they're winners. That's why they can fill the Camp Nou. If they were rubbish and losing every game they'd be playing in a public park.
☀️You should have saw the scenes outside the stadium as the Barca ladies team was arriving and thousands were welcoming them. This Braca team is super strong.
Barça femeni are a joy to watch. They play with all the passion and love for the club that the men haven't had in years and always give 100%. More people need to be watching their games because they're truly entertaining. They'll remind you of what football is supposed to be
We urgently need to change our energy there. The way we lost the WSL title to Chelsea this season was a sign of this. It is no use coming new signings if the idea of the future does not change.
