​@@pawe6473 There is nothing to "believe" since resistance is part of our history. The brother of my grandfather served in the FFL (12th Cuirassier Regiment. He enlisted at 17, in North Africa, fought in Normandy, Alsace and Germany. He was wounded twice by shrapnels: one grenade the other one mortar shell. On the other side of my family one of my grandmother's cousin was a radio for his local resistance network. A french gendarme did denounce him to the gestapo, he was arrested, beaten into a pulp and send to KZ Natzweiler-Struthof . He was what the germans called a Nacht und Nebel. Another member of my family was a resistant and has never been caught. So yeah, resistance happened. People have been creating resistance networks from the start of german occupation. Some of those networks have been dismantled by the german intelligence services (SD , Gestapo, Abwehr) and its members have been executed, tortured, deported. Those who survived kept figthing in France. Other joined England to enlist in the FFL and strike back, like during the battle of Bir Hakeim or in Russia with the Normandie-Niemen squadron. There was also collaborators: LVF, 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne (1st French) , french gestapo, french militia etc... Some chose to be patriots, other chose to turn their back on their country and other did nothing because they were scared shitless to end up like the people of Tulle or Oradour sur Glane. History is not as easy as some of you want it to be. In every occupied country there was resistance and collaboration. Somehow a lot of people keep on targeting french people just because they don't like them, there is no objectivity to this.

@@marc-antoinerave2572 One thing I heard was France surrendered because they knew they couldn't win and they knew what would happen if they resisted, by surrendering it bought them enough time to get some people out of there that otherwise would have been completely screwed while simultaneously allowing them to keep a little bit of their autonomy so they could rebuild and plan.

Same with the PPSH, they captured a LOT of them from the Soviets, so they started using them. But they did rename them, I think.

By 1942, the Germans probably had more Soviet equipment than many of the Soviet units did. And they utilized them for the duration of the war. The Germans had absolutely zero qualms about capturing and utilizing enemy equipment. So long as there was enough to field and they could figure out how to field it, they did. Mainly because they had to because they needed anything they could get. Turns out going to war with Europe and the Soviets at the same time with an industry base that could be rivaled by Vermont was a bad idea. Who could've guessed?

Ostrupen were mostly non-Russian USSR nations from Caucas and Midasia so Azerbaijani, Armenian, Cossacks, Tatars, Turks, Ukrainians, Georgians, Caucasian-Mohammedan Legion, Russian Liberation Army and Ukrainian Liberation Army (Main instigators of Wolynian genocide on Poles) etc.

Haha funny French surrender joke. The French government may have surrendered, but the French people fought on both sides until the end of the war. The Partisans carried on the fight from the inside non-stop, and French collaborators fought for the Nazis until the end of the war, and in fact, the last SS brigade defending Hitler's bunker was brigade Charlemagne, a French Waffen SS volunteer division.

Im guessing the reason why it started or why this cowardice thing was a big thing was mostly because the French had the most powerful army in the beginning of WW2 and yet were able to lose. (Instead of them blaming French high command they blame the entire French army instead but nonetheless take it with a grain of salt it is a joke after all and Im certain many people knew the reasons why the French fell)
