Is it just me or does Grievous's hatred of the Jedi Order seem pretty justified?? I mean, you would think they'd do their research before accidentally backing the wrong side. Especially when they were supposed to be peace keepers of the galaxy
ali ray but they didn't attack the Jedi first. The Jedi began entering the situation when the Huk (forgive my spelling) sought their help by convincing them Greivous's people started the war, which was a lie. Jedi should have sought out Greivous's people, instead of just acting in accord with those who sought them out first.
Tyler Neal well I haven’t read the actual transcript of events, I’m just saying most likely given Jedi Code of conduct they probably didn’t create violence through anger. Most likely if things got heated in the actual event they were attacked first. So they went there to talk and put pressure but these people escalated it to violence. Ie they drew first. I’m just hypothesising btw
Tyler Neal Not only that I’ve heard that either he wanted to be apart of the Jedi order or he asked them for assistance but they rejected him either way.
Tyler Neal Not entirely. It is true that the Huk lied about who began the war. But it is also true that Grievous was committing Genocide. Regardless of what the Jedi or Republic thought of Grievous or his people, Grievous needed to be stopped.
randallross420 he was, he ended up the way he was because of his grief and anger at the injustice of his people. But that was WAY too cool and likable so new canon made him a jealous heartless coward so he's much easier to hate, after all why should we have likable villans?!
I love the complexity of these characters and how each one has their own backstory. Many of these “bad guys” have legit reasons for turning to the dark side and it’s almost understandable in some cases.
Look up Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy, they are examples on why this isnt true. Some people are borned fucked up. Don't use fictional Star Wars for psychology or sociology advice.
A Giant praying mantis sounds pretty intimidating. Maybe their exoskeleton was more durable and almost indestructible to them? As well as sharp scythes. The odds are many
So basically: Grivous just decided to commit genocide on some mantis ppl all by his own after they killed his friend, then got damaged, got prosthetics and hunted Jedi until he got shot by a troll jumping on him with that *H E L L O T H E R E*
It's very sad that most people will only remember Grievous from ep.3 ... He's such a cool character and the way they portrayed him in Revenge of the Sith was so bad and not representative of him at all...
Max's mom In Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) Grievous made His first appearance. He was able to take on 5 Jedi at a time without breaking a sweat. And didn't even use His extra arms. He was even capable to use a lightsaber. At the very end of the show (Which takes place less then a day before Revenge Of The Sith) Mace Windu is able to crush His chest. Making Him cough. It's also stated (In the developer commentary for ROTS) that Mace Windu damaged His lungs so much that He couldn't be able to fight Kenobi at His true power. Also, the EU books and Comics that also took place before ROTS showed Grievous to be a much greater threat.
Why is it that no one ever cares to mention that the technology used to "make" Grievous was the same technology used to "make" Darth Vader, which means Grievous was just a prototype for what would come later when it was refined and perfected. Great video tho, keep up the good work!
He should have been the main antagonist of the prequels, specifically to Anakin. If Anakin were written more like Han Solo with a lightsaber, he would have resonated more with audiences, and really need a villain like Grievous to wipe the smile from his face. He could have then been pushed to great lengths just to beat the general, and cement his turn to the dark side, becoming the very thing he fought against, a cyborg.
"If Anakin were written more like Han Solo with a lightsaber", oh yeah, such a great idea, lets just copy all old characters but with lightsabers, that will surely make story better. Actually, thats exactly how TFA was created....

Star Wars fans are retarded. Do I'm sure they'll find a way to hate on that movie no matter what.
Yeah I think a movie would rushed for his backstory a show can show more that why it called a show but maybe it can be a movie of what he was up to in episode 1 and 2 but yeah a show would work a bit better I think.
The expanded universe stuff gives him kind of a tragic story. Much better than the "I'm autistic and hate Jedi" we got in the movie. But hardly anyone got enough screen time in the movies
He has always been my favorite Star Wars Chatacter lol. Since I was like 5, seeing episode 3 I always liked his appearance. And when I was like 7 I got the Lego star wars and I unlocked him as a playable character I was amazed
From the first moment I saw general grievous in Star Wars I was haunted by this interesting droid. He was so creepy and fascinating. I would love if Disney would do a series on his life and transformation. So far I have loved the series’ Mandolorian, Andor and others Disney has done snd grievous would be an excellent edition. Thanks for this video!
Please 'StarWars Theory' can you do a video explaining what move ObiWan used to cut off Anakin's both legs & left arm' in just one strike, I've never understood that, please thx
engelsseele2 yes, but Disney can take any of the legends storys or characters and make them Canon again. they have already with a bunch of different things including grievous, in that one episode, where you see a statue of himself before his cybernetics, and you see all the light sabers and other items from all the Jedi he has killed.
Grievous' tactic in duels was to overwhelm opponents with superior reflexes, speed, and aggression. He also employed a bizarre fighting style that mixed and matched various lightsaber forms, as well as some Kaleesh lig sword techniques. Jedi were forced to call on the force to simply keep up with him, let alone use it in other combative ways.
and here i was dead convinced that according to clone wars lore (which is now canon) he gradually transformed himself or had himself transformed into a cyborg replacing organs and extremeties one by one in an effort to become better and better.... so which one is it actually now?
