Lol. It's normal. When I am in Gabon, I also have to keep answering the question 'are you a Nigerian?'; though I am so sure that the tastier Ghana jollof makes my accent completely different from that of my 9ja brothers. 🤣 As for the 'dollars' bit, I think I will not be far from right to say it's somehow an African thing with some few exceptions. Foreigners are associated with being rich (esp when they know it's likely you came by air). 😆 I've encountered same in Togo, Zambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone. If my experience is anything to go by, the thinking is completely different when Europeans encounter an African in Europe. All the same, you are doing well. Keep it up and you'll soon find the Ghana husband you dream of. Lol Good luck. 😆

Miss Yole, when some one ask you, “are you a Nigerian”, please don’t get offended because Ghanaians know of Nigerians more than people from other African countries due to their numbers in Ghana, too many, every village in Ghana you see Nigerians. Don’t say, Ghanaians don’t know of Cameroon, many Ghanaians know of Cameroon, at least because of football, especially the grown up people. Have a wonderful time in Ghana but study hard, don’t play much. Don’t get worry that your Ghanaian friends say you are rich, you know, every body knows that, any one studying in foreign country is from a rich family. Bye.

Yole you have picked a few Nigerian slangs that is why people assume you are a Nigerian. The first time l watch you video l thought you were Nigerian. Pharmacy course for Ghanaians generally, is hard to get in, you need top grades...fee paying students and foreigners, grade boundaries is slightly lower. If someone sees you as rich, it's a blessing so receive it, although sometimes is annoying.

1. The reason why Ghanaians mistake you to be a Nigerian is your accent. I've noticed that the accent of the English-speaking Cameroonians is closely related to the Nigerian accent. Even Cameroonian pidgin sounds almost like Nigerian pidgin. I'm sure you will know the difference between Nigerian and Cameroonian pidgin but as a Ghanaian, Cameroonian English accent sounds like Nigerian accent. 2. Ghanaians know Cameroon very well, especially your national football team, you people always score us lol, but most Ghanaians don't know Cameroon is bilingual. they only see Cameroonians to be French speaking people.

Not all african foreigners living in Ghana are Nigerians. There are also people from Sierria Leone, Liberians and as far as I am aware there are also people from Cameroon , who are also residing in Ghana. This for for all Ghanaians living in Ghana. Cameroon is a bilingual country like Canada. The official languages of both countries are English and French. I understand what the Ghanaians say about your physical appearance e.g. having nose piercings. Please ignore what they say about you. They are very judgmental. They have no understanding about the fact that you have the right to make your own choices based on anything you want to do.
@sarahadjei4561
@sarahadjei4561 3 года назад
I think the problem with Ghanaians is that they do not understand that not every foreigner comes from the West(i.e. Western Countries). Some of the foreigners come from other African countries, Asian Countries, Arab Countries etc.

You know, Ghanaians are very familiar with Nigerians. Cameroonians are not that popular in Ghana. Secondly, we don't apply that dollar tag to every foreigner. You know there are a lot of African Americans in Ghana. They are the people we know come along with dollars. As for other African foreigners from Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali etc. we know you people have nothing because we know your countries are burning economically. Maybe one or two people mistook you for an African American.
