Kate Garraway, a popular TV presenter and journalist, has sadly confirmed the passing of her husband, Derek Draper, who had been battling Covid-19 for over a year. Draper, who was a former political adviser and psychotherapist, was one of the earliest and longest cases of Covid-19 in the UK. He had been in a coma for several months and suffered multiple complications, including a heart attack. Garraway shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram account, where she thanked the doctors and nurses who cared for Draper and the fans who supported her and her two children throughout this difficult time. Garraway also opened up about her husband’s condition and her struggles as a carer in a documentary series called Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek, which aired on ITV last year. In this video, we pay tribute to Derek Draper and his remarkable life, and we send our condolences to Kate Garraway and her family.
