Completely agree on the state of pvp. I went into mists while using 300k gear and trying to not bully the super low geared for no reason but also contest objectives. Basically this was a complete failure as I simply get trashed by the max geared people and denied all objectives while at the same time not being able to take an "easy" fight that is actually profitable vs anyone. Definitely an area designed for assholes on both ends of gear price who just want to shit on someone with 0 risk.
I've recently started doing mists and since im rather new to the game I started out in the yz. The amount of people with like super high gear (like t8.2 or something) just running arround killing people for no reason is insane. They gain nothing from killing me in my tier 5.1 gear and probably barely gain anything from even doing these mists yet there are a lot of them.
@@hellfire6714 why arent the 8.3 getting ganged up on by all the rats? I think people need to start banding together to bash them away they still have a huge repair fee if they go down.
@@hellfire6714 i guess theres a lot of super low ip in the yz mist i go bz mist and its a similar problem but the 8.3 guys are scared of a big fight and run away when people gang up on them
Although premium is really good, and having a goal of getting it is nice, but by focusing solely on getting it can sometimes make new players lose the joy of the game and forget its a sandbox type of game because they forget to explore it and go for effeciency instead.
Thats very true. When i started playing albion i was realy focused on geting premium that most of the time i was too burned out to realy use it. It was like a stupid loop. Now i just mostly run with small group of friends looking for fights and albion never felt better
never understood the premium grind, just support sbi with $15 a month for the 1000s of hours of fun premium can come with time and patience, by the time most new players make there first premium they think the game is that way forever, when it’s not
I think you forgot the biggest issue about money. Crafting and refining, without premium you lose money but that's not the worst part, even with high tier and premium you barely make money because the alliances bonus for crafting and refining in the hideouts making it completely broken (also control over high tier resources). that effectively makes them full control over the market, you cannot compete over their prices they can always do it cheaper. I used to refine and craft to make money with max stats, now I don't because simply doesn't worth it.
Move to east server, the economy hasnt been min-maxed here, i have Made lots of profit from it Ive turned 5m into 30m just by consistently crafting to BM without premium (you'll still need associate Rates for it to be profitable tho)
The economy is very mature you clown. People have been at this for YEARS. Albion is the closest thing to a real market you can get, this is the reality of life. When there is a lot of competition, prices go down and margins are low.
Yeah allowing these guilds to be so big and control so much is retarded. It's a game for everyone, this isn't the real world where the rich sit up high and shit on the low. It's a broken game because of these hardcore guilds ruin it for like 90 percent of the player base
I just joined a guild because solo sux. I don't enjoy ganking on someone who is just gathering. I just join zvz stuff, don't enjoy ganking other players. I want a fight, not murder.
8.3 'Kings' in mists completely ruined it for me. I'm comfortable bringing in 1mil silver sets ~1,200 IP in the mists and trying to get fights and farm.. not okay with every person I run into being 1700 IP in 8.3
Rarely will you ever find a rat free fight in the mists. Its atrocious. And there are 8.3 double bladed fkin everywhere. Even if you are still mounted, they will catch you, dismount you. And pound the cheeks. I was hyped at first cause I had a viable way to chip away at my season rewards finally as a solo. Now it's just frustrating going in. And I'm not experienced enough to take in a 8.3 set yet without sweating buckets and taking 3 years off my lifespan via stress.
I'm a relatively new solo player and started at the East server, loving the game for the past month now. When it comes to PvP I believe the mists is the most fun because it's pretty much an open world PVP zone, which is a core identity of Albion, but SOLO. This full loot PvP runescape wilderness style is what really attracted me to the game...However, unlike Runescape's wilderness where there is a lvl difference the deeper you go, here it's just 8.3/8.4 bullying the shit out of lower IP newer players who want to practice their builds, get some experience against match ups, and just understand how to play an open world PvP environment with different objectives to fight for. I see a lot of content creators who argue against an IP cap because of many different reasons but I don't understand how a "lesser" version of the mists, with an IP cap of like 1k-1.1k will effect them. They will still get juicy kills, the mists will have less worthless ip players and at the same time it will give a space for newer players to understand how to play the open world PVP with loss of gear, which will help newer players get over gear fear. I'm curious about your perspective in this ? If not, some systems that discourage massive IP difference fights will do, there are many ways for that. I don't know about the west, but the east server mists is pretty much 4.1 rats never dismounting unless a fight happens AND both players are low 6.1 players who are too afraid to fight other fair 6.1 players from fear of rats...or even worse the 8.3/8.4 fully specced carving sword mega chad hiding 2 screens away with headphones cranked up to 150% waiting for someone to hear someone use boots so they third party
I can understand your concerns, but will never support IP cap in black zone. Maybe some type of bounty system or temporary debuff for notorious killers. Idk, but I can't w IP cap in black.
@@Kinjar44693 Untrue and a little insulting. The mist were made so solo players could not get rolled by 20 man gank squads barring all escape. Not to create carebear wonderland.
@@foodhoarder9434 actually you are the care bear since you want to roll over poor weak new players with your 8.4 gear, you the one who wants to play it safe but when the mists are capt skills will kick in and people like you will disappear in the background
As someone who's been able to progress their account since free to play I can't imagine building an economy as a new player. Sure there's a lot of content that allows for money making than in the past, but inflation in Albion has made it hard even for veteran players to make premium, I can't imagine the experience for new players
I just quit playing because I couldn't do anything. The moment I would go to black zones someone would spot me and follow me around for a second then all of a sudden 10 guys jump on you. It's retarded. Makes the game impossible for any solo players
I used to be BZ mining, but those days are gone. Now, you get ganked in the first two zones from the portal. Want to venture into T7-T8 zones? There are zergs that control the areas and set timers to return. Even solo dungeons aren't safe anymore. Most of the time, you'll get jumped by at least two players. The same goes for the Mist - you'll encounter players geared up with 8.3 gear, duals, and LCross. I once met an 8.4 tycoon who took me down in less than 10 seconds. Even making a profit from production is a challenge as you get constantly undercut by hideouts. Gathering is tough too, as you have to compete with no-lifers and locust zergs, leaving you with no chance due to the sheer number of people. Maybe you think about farming? Well, that requires focus and is no guarantee. The game has become absolutely unfriendly to solo players. And it's amusing when others suggest, "Just change your gametime to avoid crowded hours./Join guild" As if I don't have a job or other responsibilities.(Most of them probly don't have jobs/responsibilities. Or they are just tycoons visa) Sure, I love PvP and the thrill of ganking, but where's the fun when 20 people hunt down one player? A couple of years ago, you could pass by zergs without getting dismounted, but now they spot you and immediately start the chase. It's frustrating - what's the point for them in chasing a player for 5-10 minutes, just to get a meager ~1-2 million silver? Oh yeah, there's a superiority complex and a lack of content for end players. The world of Albion has become too small. Big guilds have taken control of everything, and the Black Zones resemble the real world with countries, taxes, and all...
@@arned432 yes you nailed it. This game is ruined because of those players. I really loved the gameplay but how can you actually play when around every bush is 10 people waiting to gank you with no lives who play the game 18 hours a day. I have a job I can't play that much and the guilds even make you have all these stupid requirements to join like it's a career job interview like what the hell is wrong with these types of people. Since when can't a game just be a game and not these people's very lives and reason for getting out of bed in the morning 😂. Ruins the whole game in my opinion. Full loot pvp should be optional. But because of this I quit playing because I just ran around my hideout never going anywhere because I just was insta killed just stepping out of the zone every time. I mean people just have like 10 people who just wait in the trees for hours until little ol me comes along and just swarmed instantly. Waste of time playing.
Solo pvp in albion is horrible no need to sugar coat it so basically if you are rich you gonna get kills and silver and fame and the control of all the mist map if you are new player you are basically food, let's hop riot will provide better experience in their new mmo
As a new player I don't think there is actual quick pvp content in the game, you need to grind your specialization up to 100 and get good gear or else you are just going to get oneshotted/stunlocked to death.
@@yoink9148 I know I just wanted to point it out. Personally it might not be for me because it reminds me a lot of the games my friends tried recommending to me while saying "don't worry bro, it gets really good after 100 hours"
You don't need spec in anything to pvp in this game. Non-lethal corrupted dungeons, arenas, crystal arenas/leagues, and 2v2 / 5v5 hellgates all have soft caps that are pretty strong (at least 80%), so you won't get stomped by people wearing 8.3 while you're wearing 4.1 (though you probably will because they likely have more pvp experience). The 8.3 guy will have 100 more IP, which is equivalent to being 1 tier higher, which isn't that big of a difference at all, and they're really rare to find in non-lethal content. Hunter corrupted dungeon's soft cap starts at 900, and I think crystal arenas start at like 800 or something really low. They're both non-lethal, so you won't lose anything but a tiny bit of durability when you die. You can reach that with
@@OncleJer no I just expected it to be fun buddy. But a 100 hours to get premium and a lot of content being blocked behind higher spec/gear is just kind of a deal breaker. The games comercial said be anything and play how you want, but the reality is you can't, you cant craft with a profit unless you have premium, solo dungeons give no rewards, you can't solo group dungeons or really pvp unless you're higher spec/gear, unless you like doing non lethal for worse profit than clearing overworld mobs. In the end the new player experience is the same for most, leach off faction wars for chests or get 4.1 gear and keep clearing over world mobs. And don't get me wrong that was fun for the first few days but it gets stale fast. I can forgive never being top G lol, but I can't forgive a bad progression experience and all the fun stuff being after a 100 hours of farming, and in lots of mmo's you don't have to, the leveling progress is fun in itself and most of the time pretty fast.
yea mist is suck rn. its all about high end ip who bully lower ip or very poor player who just want to loot without take any fights. i hope theres restrictions like min max ip like corrupted dungeon so even they want to rat at least they bet something not just super cheap 20-40k silver item to bet it. and fun fact everytime high ip meet each other they act like gay wont take any fight. so the good thing for balance it i think just do some min-max ip like cdg for mist.
When I watch top pvper, they have fights from time to time with the same IP and the fight is really fun to watch. So I dont agree with the "they dont take any fight", and to note if their fight is the most sweatiest fight youll see. I dont agree with capping the IP, imagine youre fighting an 8.4 and youre an 8.4 as well and then a rat comes out with an 8.4 gear. imagine how ratting will be, its so much easier at that state since the rat is also a high IP meaning they can hit harder than a low IP rat and can easily get both of your gears. Maybe you should play mist more or watch top pvper because just yesterday ive seen a whole night of high IP fights and again pretty fun to watch.
@@yoink9148 so you deni entire poor/new solo pvp player base from having fun just to watch 2 rich people fight ? How many brain cells you used to get to that conclusion
yea but if u just see the streamer and didnt take long adventure on mist u wont get my opinion. so yea i play on mist since east coming. i got 90m pvp fame rn. and i know what i said im not rat or newbie and spoke about something that i dont know about it. in fact if high ip meet each other sometimes 1 of em just run away . and looking for low ip to unfair fight thats the real fact about non streamer of some shiet out there.
how is pve in a good state, when there is not a single option for challenging, rewarding and safe PVE? All you can do is pve where you're risking your char and more times than ever you get ganked.
i got like 700 hours of enjoyment out of it, only playing as solo or duo with a friend and with my wife, but now ive pretty much seen everything done everything (except massive guild stuff) and now im just waiting for a few big big patches that add a lot of new stuff so i can experience some new things. but i doubt the game will change much even when i wait out a few patches. just boils down to get money -> go pvp -> get money -> go pvp.
I just tried Albion again and it was a horrible experience. There's no rewarding activities for solo players who aren't maxed out... Everything that gives decent fame is like a survival horror game. The mists, which are designed for the solo players, you are constantly hunted by people in max gear. You have to play so carefully and for so many hours as a solo player to even get the silver to get the max gear set, let alone risk it in PvP. How are you supposed to get ahead? The mists is essentially dominated by rich people and I feel like I lose more silver then I gain most times. Not fun. I understand that the game is based around full loot PvP and that's great but they need to add worthwhile incentives for solo players where they can get ahead, so that they can enjoy that PvP without feeling like they lose way more than they earn. To be honest, I feel like they have made the game this way intentionally to encourage swiping for gold. That's what it feels like to me.
The closest thing to quick jump into the action PvP content that I've found in Albion is YZ Factions. You just jump on look for the battle icons on your map, head to the location and more often than not you'll find an active frontline with skirmishes surrounding it that you can jump in and out of at will. Unfortunately this seems to only be the case for YZ, cause the circle design of the red zone makes it so that there never really is a frontline. If two armies collide they just go around a different way, and so RZ factions is more of a cat and mouse game than an active warzone. So YZ is fun, but no PvP loot makes it more or less meaningless and not really in line with what you'd want to play a game like Albion Online for.
It's hard for solo players. Mists are kinda the solution, but you need to use expensive gear. Also premium might not be a problem for guilds, but for solo players it's way too expensive, it should be no more than 10 mill.
I've been playing for 3 weeks and the new, solo gatherer experience is horrible. I do not like being forced into PVP to get my T6 and above mats. I've learned to just run away and not engage but I recently got ganked by a 5 man squad in the black zone. The coordination was incredible and honestly impressive. Didn't lose anything I couldn't replace 20 times over but it still felt bad being prey to these bandits.
The thing is if I could start my character over ( around a month at this point ) I would do things differently Lots of things aren’t presented to new players do to veterans greed Certain RU-vidrs even get mass reported for “misinformation” when they provide easy ways to get powerful fast without premium or bz full loot pvp And easy way to make money quick is t7 fishing journals (14k I believe for an empty one ) and selling them full for 90k fishing in blue zones and yellow zones
Would you make a comprehensive video on HCE? There is not enough players realizing it is poor content. Maybe if you create it, it will light up people's view on it.
Agreed very much on your first point on the combat itself not being too rewarding. But I think that's more an issue with developers of MOBA style games putting too much emphasis on burst damage. Guess they're trying to cash in the "wannabe elite ninja assassin teenager" demographic where pre-fight posturing and post-fight rewards/gloating are more important than the actual fighting. You can, in fact, have engaging MOBA combat with a high skillcap WITHOUT everyone's healthbars instantly evaporating...
I noticed a character -"Mysterious Stranger". Who is that? I feel like they're stalking me. They can always find me and it kind of creeps me out. I'm not fluent in the chat function. Every time I try to communicate, I can't. No matter where I go or what I'm doing they find me. I don't know how to take this since I'm not able to communicate with them.
It gave me a shitty solo experience, because most of the time, people like Benji will just kill your ass with their shiny t8 set in YZ Mist. This game is not newbie-friendly.
Shame, I played Albion a few years back solo but quit due to lack of non-group content. I heard about Mists and Corrupted Dungeons recently but seems they are in a bad state. Hope they can improve it soon
If you gather, mists are excellent. Most players in mists trying to force the camps/chests/spiders from start to finish using 0 tact or stealth, then complain when 8.3 come and roll them. Gathering T6 allows player to clear the camps only when it seems opportune. When it seems unwise, just go on another T6 gathering circle. $$$
This is kinda a bias assessment because you (BigLips) love ganking. That is your favorite activity in the game, you have said this many times in many of your videos. But just because you enjoy that aspect of Albion the most, and consequently think its the best part of the game, does not by any means mean that is Albions biggest strength. In my opnion Albions strength lies in the sheer number of PvP options you have combined with the freedom to try out any build you want. There is literally a pvp activity for every kind of gamer who enjoys pvp. Now some may be better than others, but that is mostly subjective. For example, some people love corrupted dungeons, and thats the main activity they do because they find the fair, IP capped 1v1 enjoyable. I know you on the other hand had corrupteds with a passion. This is Albions true strength; there is a PvP activity for nearly every kind of gamer.
I understand that SBI needs to make money, but basically old players (self included) have no problem making premium while new players very much struggle. I feel like many get discouraged grinding enough silver to finally fet some 8.3, just to pay it out for rent every month. People want escapism from this in life right now. Maybe some very silver hungry end game content would change the pyramid setup putting less financial/prem grind burden on the new player.
being a player of corrupted (top 20 when i was playing a lot) i just disagree with you saying that the combat was not going to give you satisfaction , all of my fight was fun and giving me satisfaction and if i loose a fight , i knew i fck up somewhere
Pvp is garbage compared to other games, its slow, unresponsive frustrating. Devs are clearly lazy to improve game. Full loot is only thing that keeps game floating
@@matthewmammothswine4395 dude its a mobile game its clunky as f compared to almost any other fully fledged pc game, the copium from you. There is so much jank and corner cutting in the game, and these are not just my opinions but from competitive streamers like won and tommy
@@peterhorton9063 Mobile game lmao. Tell me you know nothing about the game without actually saying so. It ain't perfect, but please tell me what game is. Go ahead, im listening.
@@matthewmammothswine4395 You really are special, if you cant see the mobile design elements that hold it back. Half the spells lack an animation, or are the same animation and icon with another one. The net code is crap, more times than not my skill shots go right through people. The movement and pathing is terrible never experienced anything worse. Not to mention the fact there are plenty of exploits on the market now for the game as well. From a competitive skill based PVP perspective the game is lacking, mobas are far superior and their popularity reflects that. Albion is a full loot easy to play gotcha MMO first and competitive PVP game last when it comes to design elements within the game.
@@matthewmammothswine4395 It's okay to defend game you like. I have been looking for a game like albion for a long time. When you start, its good time, but when you reach a point where all activities feel the same, every map feels the same, all mobs are the same, you start to see pattern repeating all over the game and it's upsetting, because it could be so much more. Its been 6 years now, for a crowd funded game its ok i guess, but you know... could be better.
As long as there is 300-400 IP diff between ppl this will never be a good game. Cuz there is no skill required to kill such a IP differed dude, it's only good to flatter their ego's. And that is all there is.
One thing I like about Albion is you can kill opponents even if they are in higher tier gear than you . I would say PvP is balanced , there's no p2w aspect to it . Only problem is it's hard to find solo PvP and land a kill , especially when lots of rats running around .
It's a shit game for solo players, Either you join a guild / zerg or if u decided to go solo you have to swipe for gold and buy max gear like Lips said. Even if do roll 8.4 gear you will still get piled in "Solo" Content or you have to rat and die like crazy due to low gear. Trash for solo players pvp wise.
>says solo pve is at it's best state right now >mentions soloing group content :kekw: IMO pre lands awakened is the best solo pve state, sure the fame isn't as good as it is right now but i still remember those days making millions per hour from solo dungeons and ratting slayer cdgs. the rewards/loot are definitely way better back then, now the risk is just too high while the rewards aren't really that good (open world ff and mists)
I though video should be about if the game is good for solo players and not about should you buy premium or no :D :D :D Kind of missleading title. For new players: I play solo, game is great.
I would also like to add, expecting to have access to everything in the game, including premium for free, with relative ease is simply not realistic. It would be an objectively bad business model on SBIs part. If you enjoy the game and want to continue to play the game, paying $14 dollars seems like a pretty reasonable thing to do. After buying one month of premium, it becomes exponentially easier to earn your second month yourself. People like Swolebenji just warp peoples thinking with false statistics and "SBI and everyone in the game is out to get you" mentality.
Except as a new player, that's exactly what how it feels. You're behind with progression unless you pay SBI and you lose gear constantly to veteran players who want to kill T4 players who can't fight back.
@@HuwPewPew Why don't you do yellow zone faction then? Thats the easiest and safest way to get your spec to 100 quickly. Use faction points to buy the chests, which give you tons of tomes to level up your spec.
Mists are so fantastic for solos, I disagree with almost all of your points. I run flat 5 or 6 and its great for fame, silver, might and favor. There is no safer way to gather solo also. Learn to weigh when to stay and run, not hard tbh. Learn to play in BZ
I spend all my time in mist with t7 overcharged and kill t8 players all day long. I don't understand why people think you cannot find success in the mists without being a rat or a king.
Additionally, when talking about premium you never mentioned that it has 0 effect on the rewards from PvP. If your a brand new player and can get t4.1/2 get with 900 IP and go into stalker dungeons you will make a good amount of money if you can improve rapidly at the PvP. Of course new players will have difficulty at first, but with persistence PvP will give them more income than pve without premium can. While CDs aren't great enjoyable for everyone they are probably one of the most profitable things in this game without premium mainly due to the IP cap inside of them allowing new players to compete on even ground.
My god... Bro did not really just say OSRS has an easier time of grinding out in game time for players...... Thats such an absolute lie its not even close.
Hey bro from the end i just come here to say would you borrow me 500k silver i just need to craft i will give back your silver so fast dont worry about it i have tried withe many people and they didnt say nothing
"Mist for solo are either for rats or kings" is such a BS statement. I play T7 equiv and make pleeennnty of money. If you have half a brain cell, it's not difficult to avoid shitty fights. Especially now that they helped carebears even more by adding the inspect on name plate
I love the game, But I admit it, it's "Not New player friendly". I managed to help a couple New players in the East server.. tried my very best to answer and explain the game mechanic as much as possible. But as the day past by each of them just didn't played, everytime I check my friend list all of them just Drop the game (Some of them even bought the 1 month premium.) and I haven't heard of them since. I get it, this game isn't for everyone. I just realized that this game rewards those group players, those social ppl. At the end solo player only hit a "Dead End". 🥲
