My problem as a madridista is that in each stat valverde is better than him plus valverde does more for the team than anyone else why do we need bellingham 🙄
It's interesting to see his development in Real Madrid with players like Modric and Kroos with him, and potentially Zidane as a coach. He's only 19, I see him changing drastically in Madrid tbh
I hope he does, I think he could develop into a regista or camavinga develops into that. He has been growing exponentially by being my forced to play in cm, cdm and Lb position. I think the thing for these players is that they truly are very young and can be molded into anything. They just need the right coach. I doubt zidane is coming back any time soon. But I do think mourinho or Nagelsman could do that for them. Carlo too but Carlo takes a LONG time to implement changes. He likes to mold players lil by lil. Actually I do want to add that ceballos is def our best bet as a regista. Anyway camavinga will play on the left side or a double pivot, Bellingham on the right. Camavinga has been groomed to play with vini
Zidane is not a good coach with young players, remember Vini jr and Rodrygo Under Zizou, I am happy that Anceloti stay for next season, he know how work with young players, Vini jr and Rodrygo became better under Anceloti management
@@gabrieloliveira4854 Yes he's not good with attackers, but young midfielders and defenders he excels at developing. There are a lot of examples as well, Valverde and Militao, and even Isco and Asensio as attackers he developed
@hamad2620 he believed in casemiro has well really help him and develop him in that team and sacrifice James Rodriguez to the bench. People also need to stop say he didn't do well with vini lol vini literally knock out liverpool and had some good games he just wasn't consistent enough and decision making/ finishing was atrocious but zidane loved vini it was just that hazard was the galactico signing and once hazard was fit he had to play
@@callmeconny7963i don’t know how but he already support Case when Case came form 2013, and not let Madrid sell him to Porto, and then we all know what happend, maybe he can see future or something like that, Varane and Isco quite same, or just he all Zizou’s plan, he know he will be there
Great video. One of Jude's most powerful abilities is his tackling in the middle and final 3rd of the pitch. He completely creates an attack out of nowhere with an intelligent tackle and robbing a midfielder or defender. He's very aggressive and times these tackles well (although wonder how well this will translate to card-happy La Liga where refs reward dispossessed players easily). Of the 5 players you're comparing him to (p90 stats for 22/23 season): - He's only behind KdB for tackles in final 3rd (KdB: 0.48; Jude: 0.47) - He's WAY ahead of the rest for mid 3rd tackles (Jude: 1.14; Barella: 0.90; Goretzka: 0.83; Xhaka: 0.54; KdB: 0.45; Valverde: 0.4) - He's tackled more players than any of the others, yet still has the highest tackling %.. by 10%!! (tackle success % - Jude: 66.7%; Goretzka: 56.3%; Barella: 52.8%; Valverde: 50%; Xhaka: 39%; KdB: 35.9%). That is ridiculously high for his position and player profile. - He's also second on the list for blocking passes, behind Goretzka. So he's not only good at carrying the ball and creating chances, but at switching possession back to his team in dangerous areas and breaking down opponent's play.
after seeing his brilliant back-header against Almeria and diving header goal against Celta Vigo--in his first three games for Real Madrid--it's hard to believe that heading is a weakness for Bellingham, as this analysis claims. otherwise, spot on
If you watch the section closely, says there are goals to be had as as potential to be very good in the air inside the box - just outside the box needs a little attitude adjustment to show similar level of intensity.
I think it's based more on his aerial duels in the rest of the field. It's a slightly different skillset required for contesting those high looping balls in the middle of the field aiming to win back possession, compared to a flatter cross that you're trying to redirect with power in the box. One you are more static, the other more dynamic. Bellingham's physical stature is very interesting - he's not particularly muscular and he's quite lanky but still athletic. The strength of his physique translates better when he's moving, but when stood still (say standing under a ball to contest an aerial duel) he's relatively easy to move off the ball. When running to challenge a header, that movement and athleticism generates more strength and his height comes into play more.
Pythag never fails to deliver. Came for the the Patreon videos, stayed for the patreon exclusive Discord. Copious amounts of brains amongst that bunch.
His runs into the box will be so important for this Madrid squad. There is noone else at the club that does it and it left oposition box empty and attack predictable (especialy with benz drifting to the wing or midfield as well). This is the main underrated aspect of the signing imo, he offers way more end product than any other midfielder in the squad.
Appreciate the detailed analysis. One thing to note as a Madrid fan is that, while he's still developing and we can never be sure what kind of a player he might develop into, his playstyle right now fits perfectly to Real Madrid. Quick transitions, making plays from the deep with long balls and through balls works really well with out pacy wingers in Vini, Rodrygo and even Fede when he plays as a wide midfielder, not to mention our wingbacks Fran Garcia and Dani (when he's in form, which is a big ask these days). Jude can get into the team right now and be impactful with his skillsets as he is, provided we have either Modric or camavinga to act as the creative ball holding player. I'm excited to see what he can do.
Bellingham is a very good signing for Real Madrid ,because they are usually relying on counter attacks rather than control of the game and possession like Barcelona does. Really stocked to see him in action for Madrid team. As a Barcelona fan ,I can 100% say that El Classico will be even better next season with this signings from both teams ❤️🤩
we played with Anthony Modeste as our main striker for half a season, thats why his crossing stats are so mediocre. And Haaland during his dortmund days was horrible with his heading 😂. crossing was absolutely not part of our tactics haha
Great video. Bellingham suits Madrid too because they have two young midfielders who can compliment him and absolutely are capable of dictating the tempo and allowing him to do his thing
@@josewayy you mean Tchouameni who is 99th percentile for pass completion 95th for passes and 97th for touches out of midifkders in Europe's top five leagues? Objectively speaking he does control games, even at the world Cup and CL level.
@@jackreads tchouameni doesnt dictate games those stats are irrelevant to dictating the game hes not a sergio busquets whos gonna play the game at his pace in his prime..
@@josewayycompletely agree tchou is a destroyer much more like Casemiro but with better passing that's it. In terms of controlling the pace of the game we will still have to depend on kroos for the next season
Great Analysis, mate. I liked how you presented it quite simplistically. My Opinion on RMA - There will no more marquee midfield signings since we already have 4 bright talents who will hold the keys to our future( Fede, Cama, Tchouameni and now Bellingham). About the control aspect, Tchouameni has shown the signs of being a good controller in the midfield although the sample size is very small What you said about Bellingham not being a replacement of Kroos/Modric is right. At present it seems he will be suited the role of an advanced 8 But when you take a look at Fede - Cama - Bellingham what you realize is as a unit all of them has a 2-way (Offence/Defence) midfield presence. So as the time passes the roles will be more clearer and I have a feeling that 1 among them will act as a floating midfielder in the future.
The midfield with them 3 would be awsome in defense, with lot of pace and phisicality. Tho in offense, lacks creativity and ball control a lot, as i dont see any of them becoming specialist at it
@@L14-t6n I see Tchouameni becoming a proper DMF. About creativity I am not worried as of rn because once you learn about the idiosyncrasies and patterns of your teammates, that stuff just comes out
@@imamasterbaiter6645We play without a 9. So he is taking more part in scorings than in the build up. He absolutely is very creative and he is learning fast from Kroos and Modric and it shows.
I don’t think you guys realize that 81 is very high. He gave musiala a similar score which I think is fair. Is he developing into a player that could surprass a potential of 81? Yeah probably but he’s only been playing at that level for 4 months, it’s still too early to make any drastic conclusions.
Dead on mate. Most people chalked him up as this box to box 8. You saw his potential as essentially a Raumdauter going for goal. I thought he was more of a creative dribbler because of the stats.
With the current midfield setup at Madrid, Bellingham may fit in as the left sided free roaming box to box midfielder of a midfield four ( 4-4-2 daimond or 4-2-2-2).He has good physicality, excellent ball carrying/progression, good creativity in the half space channels, and a goal threat. However the problem with this is that it limits the threats on the wings from vini and Rodrigo as this would mean them being pushed in as inside forwards to run the half space channels which I am not really sure they are adept at.
Fantastic content. Often channels will talk about a player purely on the ye test whilst others rely too much on stats never really being able to articulate what makes a player good. You really on both the eye test and stats together whilst showing footage to really give a great idea on what makes a player good.
fortunelly, bellingham was blessed to play on teams that recognize where he is more capable of playing, and was not thrown anywhere at the midfield like it happened with Pogba. That boy will go on to win at least 3 ballon dors
I feel like rating a player with statistics don't give the full picture and it's a good thing that you talk about the eye-test a lot. I also think you didn't talk enough about his ball-winning. He's an elite recoverer
This might be weird but is there a way you can bundle a few transfer targets for teams, of liverpool for example, and compare what they would bring. Similar to how tifo football do their sensible transfers. I think this could be good and easier to give some detail on players in general and then more in depth individually since i want you to speak about most of the targets with you good analysis
My first video had 2 players compared-Grealish & Foden. It'll be even more difficult to do for transfers and I'd rather go into depth on one and people can compare and contrast from the videos because less chance of copyright issues too.
Good analysis on its own, but kind of a joke when you compare it to your analysis on Pedri. If he has a C+ in heading and a B+ in shooting, Bellingham should have higher and it's not even a question. Go check out this season's numbers, both in la liga. Same goes for defence, definitely much better than Pedri there, yet he gets the same lol. Pedri does have a bit better vision, so sure he should have a bit more in creativity. That said, he is not better at dribbling, I'd say equal, just different styles. Pedri is great with his feet, but so is Bellingham and he makes a much better use of his body. I'd even argue that Bellingham is more efficient because of his verticality and mindset. Idk, looks biased.
Bellingham’s ball control is absolutely elite for a player of his frame. I like Pedri a lot and I am not blinded by colors but I think Bellingham is clearly the better player.
Can you do a #10 Foden next? Rumours have him playing centrally next season. He played most of his youth as a 10. Winning the u-17 World Cup and being named player of the tournament for instance.
What’s crazy is that he is 19 which is just absurd watching his press conference he seems so mature for his age I really think real got a once in a generation talent
Just noticing Pedri had an 86 (78-88) and I think it was too hyped to say Bellingham Max potential was only 3 points over Pedri´s lowest potential. This season is proving that Bellingham has the potential to easily be intergenerational and even more, that Pedri is closer to a Generational talent than to a GOAT
@@PythagorasinBootsI personally disagree. I think Pedri is extremely gifted technically but he is physically very weak and can not operate at full capacity past the 60th minute mark. Bellingham could appear to be not as gifted, and that is mainly to his stature and tall players normally don’t appear as graceful on the ball, but he absolutely is multiple steps above Pedri in physicality. I used to have them equally as good, now I can say that Bellingham is the much better player. And no, I am not saying that because one plays at Barca and other at Madrid.
@@DBrealmadrid9606 pedri was a player who used to play consistent 90 minutes that too being a high presser it's the recent injury that doesn't allow him to do that naturally he's physically capable and obviously with the eye test you can see how gifted pedri is with the ability to dictate the play and be the creative outlet
@@johnjwjwjw3062 I did say he is extremely gifted technically. But he only had one season where he stood out for the entirety of the season. Which is coincidentally the only season he played with Messi.
Brother please do a review on Cesare casadei his currently top scorer at u20 world cup 7 goals 2 assist from the midfield and even started scoring immediately at Cobham
Great video. I'm brummie and a Birmingham City supporter so I'm very keen to see our Jude do really well. I'm hoping Madrid have a plan for him, and now with the signing of Guler, I think the two could potentially be amazing together. Time will tell how they are played in the coming seasons.
While I agree with lots of things, I think there’s a lot of emphasis on midfielders being true no.6’s which Jude never was or will be. I think to rate him lower than players who affect the team’s possession more is wrong. We have seen no.6’s look amazing with players around them (Jorginho). I believe Jude is a generational talent and think this move will prove that.
Great video. Thanks for making it. I do not fully agree with possesion statements. I do think that he is going to be a madrid key on that function. Because. 1. Higher quality teammates 2. Faster ball flow. 3. Learning from masters as LM and TK 4. Learnings with the time (only 19). Rememeber when Modric came to MD back in the days, was such a different player aswell
Great analysis. Spot on. I have seen some games and what is clear is, Bellingham has a goal scoring mind not a creating chances mind. At many times you can find him basically next to your number 9. This can be a hindrance. No doubt this boy is talented. But would love to see him more as an 8 not a 11 on the pitch.
That left side of Madrid looks deadly. Imagine Fran, Bellingham and Vinicius together isolated with 1 or 2 defenders. They can even play out multiple defensive lines or just draw them to their circle of gravity and then the right side can go mad with Rodrygo, Valverde and hopefully Frimpong.
i think real is building a new 2011 or 2013 side. Extremely proficient in counter attacking and one-two combinations or dribbling but also with the modern high pressing. The only pieces missing are fast center backs like Varane and Ramos. Next year we will see them put money there. They will take another 3-4 champions leagues in a decade.
Great video! Could you do an analysis of Endrick by chance?? I'm curious because he has so much physical power as a 16yo, it's crazy to imagine what he could become
To me his playing style is more similar to a Paul Pogba or Yaya Toure than a Lampard or Gerrard. Don't get me wrong, Lampard and Gerrard were great technical goal scoring midfielders but they were more direct old school English style players. Bellingham is more multi dimensional/unpredictable because he can dribble in many different directions. So to me he reminds me of a more determined and tenacious Paul Pogba or a more technical Yaya Toure
I was with you until you said a more technical Yaya Toure. Yaya is one of the most technical players I have seen and Jude is not that level of technique in the slightest.
@@zinedinezidane4771 Especially for a guy with his height, he had mad technique just was unable to really apply himself as well as he really should have.
Thanks for the content as always Pythag. What database do you draw your stats from? I'm having trouble finding a source as in depth as what I'm looking for. Cheers
Dear Pythag. I hope you know that you are the only voice of reason in a world full of stupid stat-obsessed pundits and analysts. Please don’t be influenced by them or their fans in any way.
Deadass his ceiling is isanely high, he reminds me a lot of Zidane in terms of is ball retention and carrying, if he adopted that same kinda level of ball control & vision that Zidane had I think we could be seeing a regen develop in real time Similar build aswell, 6’1 and probably still growing cause he’s only 19, should be interesting to see where he stops and how that effects his play style
No, Zidane simply was a more naturally gifted football than Bellingham; in the sense that he was more consistent and even at his Bordeaux days had far less sloppy and loose touches than Bellingham.
I know you dont really post many analysis videos of goalkeepers. But one of Brighton's Robert sanchez and a possible move to barca as a replacement for MATS would be interesting. Also would love to see another updated analysis on araujo as a barca fan as i feel hes matured so much since the pasy couple years.
It’s insane how Real Madrid are really letting go of a top 3 midfielder for bellingham🥲 I honestly wish he wouldn’t leave but I also would love to just see how great he can truly be. I wish you all the luck fede! I promise we love you more than anything. The fans wouldn’t have accepted bellingham so much if we knew it meant to lose you.
Tell me you haven't seen Bellingham play without telling me you haven't seen Bellingham play. "He's someone who can be quite sloppy in possession and his body language can be quite lethargic when he has to get involved regularly with the bread and butter of midfield possession." ...as a Dortmund fan who watched every single game of his? Wtf? Why would you even make a tactical analysis for a player you clearly no nothing about.
Lovely video as always. Thoughts on doing any more Arsenal videos? So many incredible young players in the team and I'd love to see you guys thoughts on them. Especially Martinelli, an updated vid on Saka, Saliba or Zinchenko!
Let's see how he adjusts to a league that doesn't focus solely on goalscoring and wide-open spaces for Bellingham to run through. He will need to find a whole new level to excel in La Liga.
In order to register the assist, your teammate has to score. That stat is only gonna get better playing with Vini, Rodrygo and the rest of the RM squad. Great signing! Hala Madrid! 🤍👑
Carbajal + Militao + Alaba + Mendy? (this year already has a substitute) Bellingham + Tchouaméni + Camavinga Rodrigo + H.KANE ??? + Vini - H.Kane 80k + 20k bonus? D.Levy asks for 130k Mendy is also in the market - Fede Valverde is in the transfer market Can you get out of the RM for 100k¿?
Remember when Birmingham City retired his 22 number at 16 years of age and everybody made fun of that. He rose to the pressure but im not a fan and especially if he joins RM
