That was the factory edge with some light use on it. It broke down a few boxes and did a little bit of whittling, and that's about it. If I put a couple edges on it, it would most likely do even more as factory edges usually don't last as long as the steels full capabilities. Impressive job for Kizer. Spyderco is the only other REX45 knives I have any experience with. They usually do a fair job with their heat treats, but I had no idea what to expect from Kizers HT process. I'm glad to see they apparently did a decent job! I'll be interested to see how their 10V Sheepdog compares to this Rex45.

Dude me too! Im highly impressed by Kizer with this. This thing went into beast mode. Haha. Next steel up is the 10V Sheepdog. It’s a little thinner BTE so it should cut good. Thanks Timbo!👊💪

So how many cuts does S35 last in comparison? And I mean, I’m sure it’s lower HRC than Spyderco’s. But the price difference is insane. And in general lower HRC means more toughness. I also feel like this blade would be tougher because of the blade stock and geometry.

Not really. Its only 60 to 63rc. Rex45 should be 66rc. Your probably getting half of what its capable of.

Right but I’m testing each knife individually. I’m sure you don’t already know that though. My goal is to test knife by knife. It’s to get knowledge in the specific knife. I know it can do better at 67 HRC & 10-12 thousandths BTE. Enjoy!👊🤘💪

Nope. It’s all good. Nothing scientific here. If that messes up a knife blade I don’t want that knife. I’ve tested 30 knives like this with zero issues. Thanks man! Enjoy.🤣

@@WhatsthePOINT_EDC If you do the same each time, it averages anyway though. My point was that scraping laterally is the hardest task for an edge... I know you do not put pressure on the movement. It's a thing we often see in kitchens, making place on the board with the edge, those doing it need to be sharpened more often...

Correct. I definitely don’t use pressure. I do put a lot of pressure on blades during hard use testing. I’ll test the Mystic sometime this week. Thanks man!👊
