The local liquor store in my home town of Pulaski, Tn had 2 bottles of Knob Creek 18 on the shelf behind the counter for 2 - 3 weeks. Every time I went in there to buy some bourbon I always just stared at the bottles and wish I could afford it but it was 229.99 plus tax and the tax is probably 30-40 dollars per bottle. Tennessee charges a lot of tax for alcohol. I knew I could never have it and it made me sad because I couldn’t see myself spending that much money on a bottle. The next time I went in they were gone, the lady told me some rich ass came in and bought both bottles! Maybe I’ll have a taste of KC 18 one day but it won’t be on my dollar.
FOR THE LOVE OF BOURBON...SOMEONE GIVE THIS GENTLEMAN A WELL AGED KOK!! . . . *King Of Kentucky* (LOL.... that sounded a lil' dirty.... but it is for the 3-way) Anyways...you are doing just fine Matt... Great 3 way.... the best aged bourbon I've had consists of Knob Creek 12, ECBP's, 15 year Prideful Goat & Calumet 16. But I've had budgetary and availability challenges to say the least! CHEERS!!!!

I have been trying to find a KC18 ever since I had a $40 pour of it a few weeks ago. Absolutely one of the best things I have ever had. Red Velvet is a bad cake comparison though, basically just a bunch of red food dye to normal cake. I forgive you though. Love you Matt. In fact, I love you so much I would love to have a three-way bourbon skirmish with you...
You are right about red food coloring in red velvet cake but that is not what gives it a unique flavor. The addition of buttermilk and smaller amount of cocoa powder than chocolate cake gives it a different slightly tangy flaver than other cakes.
The Knob 18 is the only one of seen in Chicago burbs.... Birthday and Christmas coming ... Found a personal unicorn today, Starlight finished in a Maple Syrup Barrel....interesting
If I don't get past spending $100, I might not get to these. But I want these, especially the KC18.... Oh dear. Christmas is coming... But I may never find one anyways... Thank goodness I love the bottles I do have, especially the KC12... someday...
Was transiting through Narita and saw a ton of great bourbon - including Master’s Keep - in the duty free. Couldn’t grab anything because my destination applies 200% duty on alcohol pat the one liter limit that I already had. Shrugged and planned n getting some bottles on the way back to the US - not. We n the return flight, the airline routed passengers through a different way - no duty free liquor shop. 😭
I got lucky (?) and found a bottle of Knob Creek 18 for $150+tax. Unfortunately, not my favorite. I’ve had Elijah Craig 18 and Calumet 16 and didn’t care for those either. I guess high aged bourbon doesn’t fit my palate or I haven’t found the right one.
Matt, Great video! I’m going to give you a little constructive criticism. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I think you need a table of some sort. In many of your videos it feels like you have no room to move around, or it appears that you are trapped in a corner. Just an observation…LOL! Great content as always!
Hi Matt, did you get the Tipsy's Knob Creek pick from 2018? A really great Knob Creek 15 (I may be wrong on the date). It was one of my favorite store picks.
