At the world pokemon championship, a huge move update was announced. This includes nerfing super strong moves like wing attack, counter, and steel wing. It also reduces the switch clock from 60 to 50 seconds.
This week is open great league, ultra league, and master league.
The Legendary Heroes Event of Pokemon GO is on. On top of various pokemon, for the first time ever you can get a shadow galarian weezing.

FOMO, that's it. If you have played consistent over the years you get rewarded. If you took long breaks or didn't save stuff for the future, you get punished. That's Niantic in a nutshell.

Yeah, I had one non shiny shadow koffing that I just now evolved. I do have some shiny koffing that aren't shadow. One of them was my level 1 shiny koffing, so now it's a level 1 shiny Galar Weezy! I love it

4:37 I just built a shiny rank 74 G-Weezy for UL. Had it built as Koffing was waiting to evolve it. It's exactly at 2500cp with best buddy (I only maxed it to 49.5/2470cp for 2500cp at 50.5). I'm loving it so far!

This was like The Alola to Alola event back in May of 2022. At that time you could evolve Cubone & Eggsecute into their Alolan forms. So even though Shadow Alolan marowak is in the game, this has been the only way to have obtained the ultra rare Shadow Shiny Alolan Marowak. Which alolan marowak is one of my favorite mons, and unfortunately i wasnt playing at the time. So if you have a shiny shadow koffing, I would recommend evolving right now. I dont have a shiny shadow koffing anymore, but I did have the non shiny shadow that I have now went ahead and Evolved. I evolved my level 1 regular shiny koffing into Galar Weezy for my first ever shiny G weezy!

Looking at a precedent, they did this with Cubone in 2022 and then you couldn't get Shadow A Marowak again until they released it in 3-star Shadow raids this year. So we may be able to get a shadow Galar Weezing in the future but not readily accessible, so definitely worth at least getting one for both leagues IMO. I only had 1 (12/15/15) and not sure I want to spend a raid pass on a shadow koffing (since those are apparently out now) while Zacian is back for just a week.

Yeah from a GBL perspective the sword vs. shield path just comes down to Zweilous or Oranguru, whichever you don’t have or want more. Personally I need a good Oranguru lol

Shadow koffing is in raids right now, thankfully. So it shouldn't be super hard to get a shadow weezing. Also, I thought shadow A-wak would be unobtainable after his event but he's been in shadow raids too. Hopefully Galar Weezing will be in raids in the future too.

I caught a shiny Koffing last week and decided to evolve it and absolutely regretted it today after learning about the evo for this event. My wife didn’t evolve hers which was smart and it’s another reason why I’m going to wait to evolve Pokemon like this who may potentially have a special evolution option but I don’t any who do. Number one rule for me is to just evolve Pokemon that you’re gonna use right away in battle league.

I have a shadow Koffing but the IV’s are really bad. I have top 10’s stored for both GL & UL though. I’ll evolve each one listed but I only have the XL’s to invest in one for the UL. Should I go with the non-shadow good IV?

Sadly i have no shadow koffing to evolve. Dunno if they've been in the shadow grunt rotation lately for me as a kinda newer player to have found? If they were though I transferred them since i figured weezing wasn't going to be worth the storage space. Alas. Hopefully i get a couple hundo larvitar and a bunch of XL candy to make up for it.

I have held a rank #1 UL koffing for 2.5 years hoping for this kind of event. I have a couple shinies, but none are good. And ironically, my only shadow koffing is actually a 14/12/14. So close to purifying for a shundo
