@@delulufemaleI have a Kobo (competitor for a Kindle) and the screen is so much better than on my phone for reading. My vision gets blurry after a while on my phone, the E-ink display takes a lot longer for that to happen.

Yeah these displays have gotten really good, old ones used to refresh the whole screen to change page and stuff and all the attempts to make fully functional phones or tablets with them looked like a slideshow and had terrible ghosting
That framerate and picture quality is super impressive for an e-ink display. My only experience with e-ink is the kindle paperwhite so I didn't think video was even possible.

On a phone screen, compressed by youtube… 😅 the raw files from his dslr (which is not set up properly like we can see here) have alot better quality than the ones from the phones camera…
This reminds me of those really early camcorders that had a relatively simple monochrome viewfinder but still recorded in proper color that you could see when you took the tape out or hooked the device up to a TV
I have recently gone through old photos of mine, taken on Galaxy S2, S4, Honor 9 and Poco X3, as well as some taken on my mother's Narzo 50 5G (a 120€ phone) and it really shows how good phone cameras have been for many years now and how even the cheapest phones have pretty decent cameras.
The fact that this phone is only like $300 is exciting! I know you're gonna miss out on a lot of what a normal smart phone can do, but the price, the battery life, and the ease on your eyes... i wouldn't be mad if this was the future of smart phones
Basically it’s just a typical smartphone but uses different type of display. So the interface and visual experience will be a different but the functionality would be the same.
I'm sick, I've been in bed all day with my phone and I was having a headache. This video gave me the idea to turn on grayscale. My headache went away, so I guess it's easier for my brain to process
I like this device concept ... I will gladly buy a bigger fold version Inorder to use it to work and. read etc.. The camera quality works for me. Yes will probably need a different device when I need to read highly colored fonts paragraphs and when I need to observe and dissect color photos of various objects.. Which is something I need to do for work in a factory
I use a Boox every day and didn’t know that it went to the computer in colour until a few months ago 😂 Also it doesn’t come with a camera app as it was meant for scanning docs originally
Because the camera is primarily for scanning documents, books and reading them later. So it could possibly be the reason to not have a camera app by default because the doc/book scanner app would just utilise it when it need camera permission
For guys who are impressed about camera quality of such small size - almost any camera is good if there is a lot of light, like in environment he is filming.
WHERE WAS THIS SEVEN YEARS AGO?!?! I desperately wanted a smart not-so-smart phone and I found some concepts but this is perfect. But now I am already sxreen addict anf I looove my S21 😅
It's Phillip Defranco's first webcam!!! He's deleted those videos because they were crass and immature, but the low frame rate and lack of colour saturation is almost spot on! 😂
