Usually the first mods on the wpl's are metal driveshafts, full metal axles (to eliminate shearing the front plastic dogbones), and a set of the softer (medium) kit tires or super soft tires that come without wheels. After those mods, a 370 motor with either the 2 speed gearbox, of single speed metal transmission is great.
@@10thScaleGarage I'm currently waiting for a large order of parts from Banggood for 2 that I am going to build. About the only possible mods I haven't ordered so far that I can think of would be great inches or oil filled shocks. Great thing is I don't think I have even spent $300 total to buy and build both trucks. While I would love to have a pair of SCX10's or TRX-4's here to run with my grandkids when they come to visit, on a $300 total budget I would probably be impossible.
*Here is my WPL story* On December 24 2020 I ordered my first C24 Metal Kit version truck for $85 from WPL dot com. And 2 days ago I finally got it in the mail and when I opened it up I found out they sent me the wrong truck. So I emailed them and told them I ordered the C24KM red truck kit and you sent me the C14KM red truck kit instead and I asked if they could send me the C24 red truck body, or a refund? And later that same day they replied back to me and said: “So sorry for that” “Sure. I can offer full refund or send you the correct C24KM Red and you get to keep the C14KM Red.” So told them Yes, send me the correct order C24KM red truck. So now I got two trucks for the price of one. lol!
the price is way cheaper here in Malaysia, only 33US dollars for RTR and 25US dollars for the KIT. it's very popular here since it's affordable and the upgrades are also dirt cheap. Im looking to buy one myself. btw awesome video👍😁
I can tell you that the center drive gear is plastic and will strip if you run into an obstacle and it gets stuck too many times. I had one go the first day it was used trying to crawl over a 2" tall rock. The gear is just pressed onto a knurled area in the center of the shaft and that's it, no grub screw. They are decent trucks, no doubt! They do need to be upgraded though, or just buy the C24-1 - KM version from WPL if tinkering isn't your thing. I have 2 that I'm upgrading at the moment and another C24-1 - KM that I'm about to build.
Hey man. I have a wpl c 24 and it's a blast. They are super capable with some simple mods. First one would be metal driveshafts bc the plastic ones easily break after a while ($9). Seccond would be berrings.($10). And third would be a upgraded motor. Personally I have the 260 size motor ($7) and it's plenty for that truck. My wpl, I got for $40 ( I highly reccomend this besides purchasing everything else) a full metal kit. It came with metal axles, new hears and keyed shafts. Ful metal steering links, metal ouput shafts and metal driveshafts and full berrings all around. I recommend just to get the full metal kit besides buying the berrings and driveshafts because it just gets rid of all of the issues and you have better steering angle and it looks so much nicer and really makes the truck look like it's $200 bucks meanwhile I only have $90 into mine($110 if you count the new servo I have and speed controller)
I have this WPL C24-1 and I also have an MN99s. Cheap but capable! They work great and fun on my little backyard crawler course when I don’t feel like leaving the house.
First mod is soft tires and wheel weight. To do this you must buy a set of Fayee. FY04 time with tires from bangggod. . Once you get the wheels use solder around the inner wheel give two rounds and secure with tape . Cut some soft foam and insert the tire. Blue the tire to the rim.
I love ours. We have the blue kit truck as well. It came with softer tires. We did have to put controller and esc with it. But both trucks are awesome We abuse the crap out of them. I just posted a video of the course I just built for our trucks.
yup, so much more traction with the fayee wheels. downside is that they're really big and you get rubbing. you can try to soak the original wheels in wd40 for a day or two, makes them much more grippy. not recommended for indoors cause they stink after that treatment :)
funny you say thinking about crawling, I just picked up the MN99 for like 55 bucks for my first crawler!!!! Hope I can find enough dirt piles to play in.... This WPL c24 did an awesome job for a 1 16th!!!!! this one looks epic as well for 45 bucks!!! whaaaaaat
Hi. I was looking for softer tires, but cannot find them on aliexpress or banggood or, better, they don't tell if the tires they sell are softer than the stock ones. I know the wpl's site has them, but for sure they are expensive

Yea ive been lookin at this lil wpl for a while.. then i discovered the scx24s and figured they'd be a better starter into mini crawling..but it looks pretty good. Whats the shipping like from bangood to the US?
No flex on the suspension. Even after upgrades and moding. Its still to stiff after putting good oil shocks on it. The shock placement on it makes it difficult to get it to flex. But it would be a good trail truck. If you can eliminate that bouncing. Yeah? Needs weight, yeah?

The RGT is 24th scale, so it’s wayyyy smaller and really meant for indoor use. The WPL is 16th scale and performs great outside. It can hang with some 10th scale crawlers.
Way bigger. This has a hard body as opposed to lexan. Transmitter isn’t as nice as an axial. Both have a ton of aftermarket support. SCX24 is really meant for indoor crawling, and this is capable of crawling outdoors.
60 US dollars is appropriately 50 euros. Add the additional shipping and it’s pretty dang close. Also, this came from Bang Good..... a Chinese online shop.
C24-1 is the upgrade of the cheaper C24. C24-1 is fully proportional. Banggood sells the RTR C24-1 plus an extra Lion 1300 mah battery, plus shipping insurance, tax insurance. Far better offer than other sites

@@10thScaleGarage Considering that this is a Chinese product, it is better to check it yourself)) I found the real dimensions of Toyota Hilux (length, width and wheelbase) and divided them into the corresponding model dimensions and got 14 scale))
So it’s bigger than they advertise. How often does that happen, especially from a Chinese brand. Usually they over sell the dimensions..... apparently they want people to think this is smaller than it actually is.... strange.
Welp guess youtubers get different products than the public. I ordered two upgraded versions for my son and I. I received both of them with plastic chassis and click steering. Fuck this shit. Last ten items I’ve ordered from youtubers turn out like shit. Fuck me
