If they traded Kemp for Pippen or they got McGrady for Pippen, Jordan would have still scored like 45 in game 6 vs. Utah in 1998.... Yes pippen was a great defender. Yes he was a Dr J like athlete on offense - But no he was not a closer - and jordan could have won with other guys (Kawhi .... Ewing..... Karl Malone...... etc) PIppen showed he could not win without MJ (94? Nope. 95? The Bulls were barely .500 and barely in the playoffs when Jordan came back from baseball)..... 99? In Houston or Portland? No. Remember the HOuston team had Olajuwan, Barkley and Pippen. Johnny Arnett who made this video ignored some important points that I recognized bc I lived through the 90s: 1) Yes, Pippen choked 1990 in game 7 *(migraine). 2) Pippen was nowhere in 1993 when the Bulls needed it either in game 5 of the Finals which the Bulls lost at home. Interesting how Arnett left out the 1.8 seconds where Scottie quit on the Bulls in 1994. 3) IN 1998, Pippen had 2 FTs to win the game vs. Indy in game 4. If the bulls won, they go up 3-1. But Pippen misses both FTs.. .. That's where Arnett was wrong in comparing Pippen to Kawhi: Kawhi is a great FT shooter. Kawhi has proven he IS a closer. Pippen was a career 70.4 % FT shooter. That's worse than Lebron (74).... that's pretty bad. Kawhi is at about 85% and last year with the Raptors it was around 89%. That's very very good - almost Larry Bird or Reggie Miller good. THose are important differences when you're talking NBA Players. That's worth millions of dollars right there.

I agree as I never liked all those LeBron James and Michael Jordan comparisons (the GOAT debate being one of them) to begin with. But it's different with Scottie Pippen. Both can be considered Point Forwards, so that comparison makes far more sense. They were/are allrounder who did everything for their teams: running the offense, scoring and defend. At least in regards to running the offense and scoring I would say that LeBron is a significant upgrade as LeBron is a far better scorer and his playmaking ability is up there with the all time greats (though players like Magic Johnson and John Stockton are quite a bit ahead of him as LeBron was his teams' primary scorer almost every year). Michael Jordan however was a two way player. Excellent defense and extraordinary scoring ability, though this doesn't mean his playmaking was weak but thanks to Scottie Pippen taking that load of his shoulders he could excell even more in other areas.

Leonard is a cross between Pippen and way to much Tracy McGrady. Looks like he's high out there sometimes. :-)
