It reminds me about the first principles of internet: Once you put data in it will stay forever. Means the data is not only yours privately but it would be share with google. No matter what they would say

I'm uploading all my photos taken on my phone, but copied to my computer. Google Photos is tagging all of them as "today". Have you seen a way around this?

I think Google Photos is cool. The one thing I don't understand is, when I edit the photo on the website and I save it, the photo on the phone stays the same, nothing is changed on it, but when I edit a photo on my phone and save it, the app creates a new file instead of overwriting the old one...

They're compressed right? You know you could always upload unlimited photos to the photos app under 2048x2048 or something like that. (yes it was part of G+, but wasn't heavily G+ branded and pretty much everyone has been tricked into getting a G+ account anyway)

when u transfer all of your photos on ios to google photos can you delete the on the main camera roll itself (iphone camera roll) without loosing all of the photos

yeah it's been easier and safer its called backing up your phone to your computer and how do you delete a phone off Google photos but not off you phone also

I like Google Photos for my own use but when I share a link to people very often they can't download the images or videos - it's often people with iPhones - I give most of the time and end up putting the files on Dropbox or WeTransfer them - very frustrating - I can't find an answer anywhere why some people can't download - do they need the Google Photos app on their phone to make it work.

Why is he talking about this like it's a brand new thing? I've been using Photos for auto backups (with unlimited downscaled photos) for over a year now. The only thing that has changed is the layout (and for the better I might add).

What if I delete a photo from my phone that I already uploaded to Google Photos and I want the pictures to stay in Google photos -- how does that work? I'm asking because it seems like once I take a photo it's automatically stored in Google photos but then if I delete it from my phone (with the mindset that I'm freeing space on my phone & storing it in my Google photos) it also deletes in Google photos. That's not what I want. Am I doing something wrong?

I still prefer Flickr for my photos. Better app and web interface than google.
