This was just perfect for me. Especially when transitioning from an other console (in my case EOS), this is extremely helpful. Strange logic though in some parts (of the effect editor, not your presentation. But logic might be also a question of personal taste). Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

This is one of the best MA tutorials I’ve ever seen; Thank You! My suggestion / request for a video would be on generating and editing effects or chasers with macros.

So I get how MA does a sine waveform or linear waveform, but how does it really follow the circle or looping waveforms?

This was really good. I’m a lighting technician and haven’t been able to land a position as a programmer yet...what’re your recommendations?

Good question. If you're already working as a tech with a production or venue or a lighting shop - I would start there. Ask people you know if they would put you on as a programmer on jobs. Have you ever worked as an operator playing back a show that someone else has programmed? That's also a good place to begin.

Absolute values are important for a pan/tilt effect because all the fixtures will move between the same positions, is it right? If I use relative, the fixtures will move acording to the initial position that they were. Right?

Help! How do I apply two effects with one parameter to one fixture group?

Great tutorial. I picked up some great info from that. I'm wondering, can you think of a way to introduce a delay at the end of the effect? Say I have a PWM dim effect, from 0 to 100, I have set attack and decay for a nice ramp up and down. Now I would like that to run once through the selected lights, then pause in black for, say a couple seconds, then run through again, pause, and so on. I realize I could introduce a little delay with the width control, but that's limited because it squeezes my waveform messing up my smooth ramping, and also I can't get enough delay that way. I could also patch in a bunch of lights that don't actually exist, take those as part of of my selection, and let the effect run out over these "virtual fixtures" to burn off time, but this seems like a clumsy way of doing it, and it would be hard to quickly change the delay time. Any ideas?

set phase to 0 thru (something less than 360, the lower the number the bigger the delay at the end of the effext) and lower the speed to compensate.

thank you so much ! I have a question that how to make the chaotic effect at 24:31 ?
@consoletrainer
@consoletrainer 3 года назад
Hey there - Start with the effect I create at 24:01. You need to select the cells in order by fixture first. Then you can apply the block. Then just add in the shuffle we do at 24:31. The speed and everything else are up to you.
