Superb tutorial. Thank you for posting this video. I’m an old Christian who took up the guitar again, after so many years, who just wants to worship his God.
Thanks so much Guilherme! I work hard at uploading quality videos whenever I can. I’m glad they have been helpful to you! Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Wow! Such a fantastic arrangement! I really appreciate your meticulous dedication; however, I can only guess what arpeggios you are playing, and the only way to ascertain the notes is to slow the video to the absolute slowest speed and to see which strings are vibrating on the guitar. It would help tremendously if you would slow down a bit and tell your students what strings you are playing. This arrangement is the absolute best of all on RU-vid; I just hope I will someday be able to get it all down.
Hi David, you're a true blessing for the people. I want to learn from you if you have class so that I can use on my missionary trips. Thank you very much for your hard work and the contribution of talent . May the good God bless you and your family.
Thanks for watching Samantha Williams! It has been a while since I did a finger style hymn. I might try to pick one out this week to start working on for a future video.
Tutorial is too advanced for me. I tried to catch up more than five times this morning but I was unable to get it. I think too fast for me. Anyway it sounds cool. God bless you
Thanks for this video. God bless….I play bluegrass with a pick but starting to work on finger style picking. I just want to increase my skill and play for the Savior Jesus Christ….
It’s just taking the time to figure out which notes I’m playing in each chord and then breaking down how those notes fit into the scale of the key I’m in and then using the appropriate name that fits those notes in that key. It takes me a while to figure them all out especially for the ones that are a little more unusual.
Can someone plz give me an advice for fingerstyle guitar. When i play in my steel stringed acoustic guitar with my fingers, the sound of the guitar sounds dull. How can i get that bright sound like this video?
@@davidshierling7381 Im really sorry for my lack of experience, but can you please tell me what u mean by "Taylor"? I tried to search it in google, and didnt get any helpful results. Thank you for your time.
Sounds nice! Question is why a capo ? It would have made it much simpler without it and seems unnecessary if your not going to sing and need that key! Whatever, it would just be more beginner friendly that way! My capo isn't with me so I can't play it as easily with this! So, to another lesson I will go!
Thanks for watching Terry! It was capo’d for singing. I had intended for this to be the how-to to be paired with a video of me singing the song as well, but I never got to the video of singing it. Also, being capo’d can make a couple of the stretches just a little easier with the smaller frets. Not a big difference, but it can help in some spots.
@@DavidLockard Well I played through just about ever version of this song on youtube and I liked yours the best! Perhaps not the greatest to sing with as a background but as a stand alone guitar performance it shines. TYVM ! I liked Banjo Bens finger-style of this too but for some reason I get annoyed watching his videos ! Your version just seems more professional and has a touch of class!
It is so frustrating to try to follow you on those strings with the C# diminished cord; you do not even inform which strings you are playing, only "Like This," and only one time through. I truly admire your work on this piece, but it is impossible to follow without TAB. Dennis Ashe
Sorry it was hard to follow, but I think you must have just been only watching the play through at the beginning. The step by step walk through (which tells which strings and which fingers for the chords) is after the play through. The chord diagrams are also in the lower right corner for the whole video that show which strings and which fingers are used in the circles on the diagram. Hope that helps!
