Hello! We missed a placement! Brandon Ikin 1st at the 2015 Bochum Regionals Jamie Boyt 2nd at the 2015 Bochum Regionals Finals vod: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7qndL6xJn8I.html&ab_channel=OrganizedPlayAMIGO
such is the magic of FSG's videos. really wish they would take ten seconds to verbally state the stat spread and release these as a podcast, because they're great listening while doing other things
@@Lassoloc I mean, I don't want to be mean (I dunno, people take things too sensitive these days whatever some ppl say) - but why cannot people do a little bit of their own research and try and experiment for themselves? Like the OG Pros did? It will only make you a better player since you are now dipping into this Pool (of Competitives.) It's like asking an award-Winning Chef for his recipe just like that. I mean, here's one I guess? 🙄 HP: 248 , Def: 80 , SpA: 10 , SpDef: 160 , Spee: 8.
These are great as always, but when you have a Pokémon who has fairly wide usage the sections where you list PLAYERNAME, PLACEMENT for minutes on end, i mash on fast forward until we're back in the analysis
can we also just talk about the design? talk about top notch, but most gen 2 pokemon look fucking sweet. gator is my fav. wish they would give him a regional variant. pure ground type would be dope
I think the most wild recent Suicune-related development was during the ADV Revival tournament where the commentators realized that the abbreviation “cune” doesn’t translate well to live discussion due to sounding similar to a racial slur
@@skeetermania3202 given the origin of Smogon's name and the original logo it's best to err on the side of caution. "Smogon" is the German translation of Koffing, and yes, the reason is exactly what you think
Sometimes I wonder why they never ban suicune From OU since it’s really op after 1 boost in RSE. BTW, saw an error where you lost walking wake as water instead of water dragon. Other than that, all good
@@Carnidoom They mean that the original video covering Suicune only went up to gen7 since that was released too early for even gen8 to have a clear analysis
Dragonite!!! This mon deserves it more than thr ones quoted. It has aged so well, from adding pokemon abilities to Terra, every new game addition made it better and better.
Suicune really was the ultimate wall back in Gen 3. Too bad the only one you could legally get your hands on back then without Colosseum always had 3 IVs of 0, which is why I named mine “Suican’t” in those days.
Similarly, in Generation 2, male Pokémon can have an Attack IV up to 15, while female Pokémon can only go up to 11-unless they are female-only Pokémon.
@LuigiTheMetal64 In gen 2, gender was determined by the Atk DV + the species’ gender ratio with males having better attack than females. For a species with 50/50 gender ratio, the lowest DV a male can have was 8 and the highest a female could have was 7. Species like Ninetales that are 75% female have a max Atk for females being 11 and minimum Atk for males be 12, while starters which are 87% male have females with a max Atk DV of 1 and males a minimum of 2. Genderless and mono-gendered species could have Atk DVs anywhere from 0-15.
@@FireFog44so essentially, the only female pokemon competitively viable were either those with a 100% chance to be female, or dedicated special attackers?
It really sucks that Absolute Zero/Sheer Cold got changed since Generation 7 where it loses accuracy when used by Suicune or Kyogre for being Water-types. Even the description change sucks.
I know, Kellen really tried to get these videos out before all of FSG knew that they would have to make longer videos. Lando, Heatran, the swords of justice and Latios. I don't think anyone knew about Kyurem coming back until the indigo disk I'm glad Terrakion didn't come out this year.
I still imagine that scene from Jurassic World where Chris Pratt is surrounded by the 3 velociraptors but instead of the velociraptors it's 3 Walking Wakes
Water only being weak to grass and electric has always been too good. Because of that, it's the main reason why grass and electric attacks get used. And back when grass and electric were exclusively special moves, that meant specially defensive water types like Calm Mind Suicune had it even better.
It should've been weak to poison in the first place, not only that is very thematically fitting, its also a physical type, so in old gens water can't just tank everything without worry. It just shows how water was and still is TOO convenient of a type, whereas poison was so fucking bad only SE to grass.
It's always been weird to me they give so much more love to Suicune than the other beast and it's nothing like Charizard. They gave it more love out of nowhere, but I have to say it has the best design
That's exactly what I find strange, I understand that there had to be a third version, but why Suicune. Ho-oh was all the trio master why not focus on all three that would have been much cooler
Sun teams getting a fire water grass core in gen 9 was certainly unexpected. And considering how much of a staple groudon and kyogre are in restricted formats wake is going to fit right in. Koridon also has a lot of potential as a sun setter that also gets an attack buff in restricted formats. Wake is not only a sun mon but also a great counter to sun. So I expect it to thrive
Happy to be mentioned in this video! Of maybe particular interest is that in the finals of 2013 Houston, game 2 came down to Suicune vs Suicune, which I was able to win thanks to Rest and VGC's timer rules. Flattered to be included in Pokemon history!
Bulky water types always makes me think that grass types should've been the bulky ones since it makes sense with them being support type pokemon and grass types already got a lot of weaknesses so the water type doesn't need more buffs and could use a nerf that isn't ice.
And with this another year of "how good was # actually" ends, hope to see more remakes next year cause sone pokemon really needs it but for now thank you False Swipe Gaming for all this " actually great" content ❤🎉
Can’t wait to see Walking Wake on sun teams in VGC soon, especially once Groudon is allowed. I can’t definitely see a team of Groudon, Walking Wake, Venusaur, Flutter Mane, & Incineroar becoming popular.
I like Venu, but hisui lilligant will take its spot in sun groudon teams Max speed Timid venu hits 145 speed,it won't outspeed Booster speed flutter and bundle in sun
@@reallyawesometitle7653h-lilligant gets chlorophyll too, as well as STAB close combat, upper hand, and fun options like entrainment, ice spinner/triple axel
27:44 minor audio mistake? unsubbed. in all seriousness i was glad to see another mon get the remake it deserved. gengar or arcanine would be great for the next one.
In a year maybe lol. Volcarona has been releases wayy to early for a remake vid imo. Slitherwing isn't that good, and isn't comparable to volcarona in the slithest, while walking wake is more of a direct, offensive upgrade to suicune
I'm surprised Inner Focus wasn't mentioned regarding VGC Suicune. It was useless in Singles, but having a flinch immunity in Doubles was really good for it when it finally released. Being able to set Tailwind without succumbing to a Fake Out flinch was much more beneficial than Pressure.
Damn this was really the year of legendaries. We got at least 10 or more legendary Pokemon videos this year. Why Articuno and Suicune remake so soon? Idk. A great year of FSG
@@skeetermania3202 damn I forgot shuckle was a remake. I thought they were going to wait until next year or 2025 before doing the 18-19 videos to remake them.
I forgot which, but I did mention this on another video. I've never been one for competitive pokémon. And on the whole, I only understand everything you're talking about at a base level. That said, just putting on and casually listening to these videos is always both fascinating and strangely relaxing.
Toxapex can wall walking wake even with the special attack boost and sun. In fact, it can switch into a terra walking wake in the sun and wall it until the sun stops as long as it doesn't have a special attack boosting nature.
I remember in gen 7 i experienced my first vincune ever and it annoyed me to the point that the next time someone wanted to have a UU battle...i brought a cacturne
I started playing on showdown not long after the crowned tundra released, and one of the sets I just came up with was sub, protect, CM Suicune. Nice to see something I thought up was actually a notoriously frustrating set.
Few things can top that rush of excitement and fear of running into one of the 3 beats as a kid in GSC. They were SO difficult to get.. probably why they are my favorite legends. They still have that... elusive feel to them.
btw for walking wake. it being part of sun teams with other mons like heartflame ogerpon, chi-yu, venasaur, raging bolt, gouging fire, great tusk, roaring moon, torkoal and so on shows that sun teams in the current era are nuts. heck right now walking wake to most people is tame compared to the other 2 and during pre home-end of teal mask people thought walking wake was a bit overpowered
Suicune is by far one of the most unique pokemon ever. Not just for how good it was competitively, but its design and lore too. Everything about it make such a fantastic pokemon. Serious question though, @32:05 why was that guy who topped a regional using an Unown? What a legend 😂
I manged to download the event rom for the shiny Suicune, Entei, and Raikou a few months back for HGSS, i managed the get a Suicune with 31 IVs in both defenses and Hp. Currently using it as a ribbon master, as someone who never really paid attention to suicune, its really fun to use in battle lol. I haven't played gen 9 yet, but you bet your sweet bippy im getting my hands on a walking wake!
Idk what's been happening, maybe my ADHD kicking, but I feel your videos are getting too replicable. Maybe, and that's the one thing that got to my mind, is how the background music you use is very repetitive in the first part before the first drop. Maybe change up the OST for each video would be interesting? It's probably the one thing you can, while the rest of the video format is quite restricted.
Hey isn’t protosynthesis gives only a 30% boost to speed and choice scarf, choice specs and protosynthesis on any other stats gives a 50% boost? Because then choice scarf and special atk boost on walking wake give a (practically) free 20% speed boost if you would go the other way plus the extra special attack from going 252 evs in spec atk
Well I tell you what racism never existed and a racial slur but the white kid saying it in todays is not racist but very inappropriate because even then because what’s it for different would have been if they are speaking to you which would be
obviously sleep turn mechanics are different in gen 5 but how? It sounds like they were similar to gen 3. I'd love to see another gen 7 pokemon. toxapex seems like a good candidate.
Cant wait for the eventual Quaquaval video telling us how underused it was simply because a lot of players didnt feel comfortable with the constant booty shake
