The sniper crossbow and whips are definitely not good and would make a first time player have a lotttt of trouble beating the game. Luckily most weapons are acceptable for at least the first half of the game
@@klenoringer so, if you put infinity grandpas/grandmas to press R1 an infinity amount of times by an infinity amount of time, one of them will eventually bet all three dark souls hitless
@@solarpellets You made me remember the time i modded the weapon into the wanderer class then proceeded to alt+f4 when it dealt 31 damage to taurus demon per hit, Doesn't sound horrible but it is, Considering people call it "the best straight sword in the game, Amazing thrust attack blah blah." Now i will watch the actual video, Have a good day and a better subscriber count.
1:38 it’s honestly pretty interesting how many people I see forget the dark sign ( and it’s equivalents) when doing challenges. only the ones tracking their deaths seem to use it
This style, I think, is a lot more relaxed and makes for good commentary c: a clip or two of your live commentary splashed in might be nice for spontaneity, but this was a lovely watch
I really like this video format! It feels more scripted and guide/walkthrough based. But I prefer the more casual commentary style videos. Great video like always. Nice to see some good ole DS1 content. The real challenge run is running to queelag from firelink (twice!) and then doing blighttown the normal way. :P
You can possibly get +15 before any bosses. Very large ember at new londo required nothing. Large ember if you do blight town with master key go all the way back to it. Take a bit of time but doable.
casting a vote for live-commentary stuff, especially if you find it easier to do. (not to say this video wasn't good) i always think your live-commentated stuff is pre-recorded and then i get surprised when you react to something lmao
I mean, I think it depends on the weapon, personally. I love the scythe (the one called the scythe, not the great scythe lol), and this weapon was super fun, but I'll always prefer big swords and axes to falchions and rapiers, personally.
WARNING, THIS WEAPON SUCKS. I did a gough cosplay on >ng+7 and I used the ghost blade as his whittling knife (along with the bow) and it’s bad. Might make a good challenge run. It’s the one that drops from the ghosts holding the infants
@@jonathancastillo6433 the ghost blade is in the running for the worst weapon in the game, but honestly I think Vamos' hammer is worse. Same downsides, no enchant, low damage, no scaling, small range, but it also does split damage, which means it's arguably even worse
The only gamer I ever engaged with was the war pick (I like the design). I never expected a smithing hammer to suck as much as the worst dagger. It’s a cool little factoid.
I just did a playthrough with it, wanted to see how bad it was, but it's actually a lot better than I was expecting. Dragon Bone Fist and Astora Straight Sword are definitely worse, despite how the hammer looks on paper. Looks like I'm using the ghost blade next, I wanna see how bad it really is lol
I think the bosses that I beat first try were: Capra Demon Gaping Dragon (but i summoned someone to help me so it doesn't count) Iron Golem Pinwheel Gravelord Nito Ceaseless Discharge (accidentally did the speedrun method because for some reason I thought that I might be able to leave the fog door after stealing the clothes) Centipede Demon (It pick me up and fell out of bounds before I even had a chance to fight it lol) The Four Kings Gwyn, Lord of Cinder But I did have black knight halberd in my first playthrough so it's not that impressive. Edit: Also I really like the live commentaries and probably prefer them but would still watch every video if it was like this. I think this sort of straight to the point style is well suited for hyper-specific builds that need explanation but for the liminal spaces video or the gayest character video, I'm just here for the vibes.
First try Capra is either insanely lucky or extremely impressive lol. Was DS1 your first souls game? Thanks for the feedback, I prefer making the live commentary videos, but every now and then a video warrants this format, so that's perfect :3
@@solarpellets Yeah DS1 was my first souls game. When the dogs ran at me I just tried to position myself on top of the stairs and away from the Capra Demon so I could kill them. I was like half health when I killed one of the dogs then I jumped off the stairs to avoid the Capra Demon and kept going up the stairs and jumping off them to kill the second dog, drank estus and then fought capra normally. There was definitely luck involved but I also feel like Capra's attacks are really well telegraphed. I've reached Capra in three separate runs and never died to him. That might contribute to why I love the lower burg and the depths so much. I've never had to do a boss run back in either of those areas.
pretty sweet video, i used this weapon on one of my videos and just like you pretty much destroyed everything. what makes sanctuary guardian your favorite boss Ever?
@@loserdwell I actually have a tier list video coming out literally tomorrow, and that goes into a lot of detail with what I do and don't like about bosses :3
I've been getting into your videos from other trans DS youtubers I watch mentioning you and I'm really happy I did because your voice is really nice, it makes me more comfy with me AND I find your commentary really entertaining (: Especially in your Solare video in piticular Was really curious about this one because I've wanted to do a playthrough role-playing as one of the Baldur knights but haven't had the chance yet Also the sheild just looks really nice, it's one of my favorite designs and the storytelling with the ones you find in Sens is pretty cool (and you find the sole one that knows what a crossbow is) It's hard for me to say which if your videos I prefer more, especially needing to watch more but I do prefer your live-commentaries methinks, I like your personality the most there
Dark Souls "easy" with any normal weapon, if you upgrade it properly, and don't forget to level up relevant stats. This game is extremely cohesive in combat department, and everything enemies do is intuitive, no one is actually fast, you have a lot of time to react and realize everything happening on a screen, and damage is very-very-very forgiving. It's not Elden Ring, it's what i trying to say 😂
I think it's more that weapons aren't the main part of your build. Higher damage makes it easier, but spells, rings, armor, and items are all also extremely important, while in Elden Ring it's entirely about what weapon you have and how good you are with it lol
@@solarpellets I dunno, I have not necessary opposite, but different feeling of this games. In DS even schmuck like me was able to slvl1 run it with club a hatchet, despite I have reflexes of a dead frog. And ER is MUCH MORE demanding to skill level if we talking about just weapons and direct meele... But it's so much easier if you start to use consumables, spirits, special weapons etc. ER allows you to be op af and make game easy, but Dark Souls is just kinda easy, if you play it cautiously and don't level up resistance or something :) Well... It's looks like I need to play Dark Souls again. Thank you! :)
Hey @solarpellets, if you're reading this. I know people can be real idiota in the comment section, but you're awesome and it's really cool to see trans people take space in these areas. Love to see it. Hugs from an nb dude. Hope to catch your streams! \[T]/
@@s_e_r. At the very least, bigotry is easy to exploit for engagement lol I stream almost every Wednesday, this month has been an exception because I'm visiting someone for my birthday, but I'll be trying to stream on the 31st!
