The guy should have been benched a long time ago. It is only natural in sports and there’s more to it than : “ punish the man for his bad performances “. If he had been getting some minutes from the bench that would have first calmed the fans down and then allow him to slowly rebuild his confidence and form. Instead they went: “ Nah we spent way too much for the man to not play him, keep starting him until it works”. The whole reason this even went as far as it did with the memes and the hate wasn’t about the performances themselves as much as the fact that the team wouldn’t bench the guy for playing like this. Well good thing that he began turning things around.
