Not to dismiss those cubemaps or anything since I agree they are a clever idea, but they are actually not new to the CS2 version of Mirage. CSGO's Mirage has had the same cubemaps in palace for a while, but I don't blame anyone for not noticing in CSGO since the floor is hardly reflective in comparison to CS2. The only reason I even know is because I happened to notice the reflection in the scope of the AWP changing when I was walking between the pillars one day a few years ago.
@@lawncrow Maybe they just moved the hole and merged the two into one super-hole? Something they couldn't achieve until they had the power of Source 2.
@@basedneutral1173 everything can be a pussy, if you are brave enough? First time I've heard this in a context of a rupture in the fabric of the universe.
5:34 nearly 20 years later, models like the cs:source produce container and this half-life 2 couch are _still_ being used. It's kind of poetic in a strange way, how CS:S and HL2 still hold up nearly two decades after they came out, game-play wise, and graphically.
2:17 There is noticeable gameplay change! the sightline down B apartments to the stairs in B main has been made thinner, so there is no longer a pixel peek that players can watch down with an AWP!
Capslocking that sign is such a subtle change that adds so much realism to the world, I mean when was the last time you saw a warning-esque sign using lowercase?
Mr. Phillip, a while back I noticed this error in Mirage. In the kitchen, in a corner of the ceiling, there was a hole in reality that hasn't been fixed for quite a while. I don't see any mentions of this bug in this video, has it been fixed in the new version?
I hope that someone on the cs2 team watches these videos so they can feel good knowing all the tiny details they've worked on got noticed by at least one person
There's nothing really new about that, everyone "knows" the solution. They generally just can't be bothered to do it, especially in fast multiplayer games (because most players don't really care).
Hey 3kliksphilip, did you know the triangle hole in kitchen was patched in the source 2 variant of mirage. thought that you should know, just in case you didn't. have a nice day.
@@coolingjam Hey mate, just wanted to let you know that the hole in kitchen has been fixed in the source 2 version of Mirage. Not sure if Phillip mentioned it in the video or not.
@@coolingjamHey man, i don't know what are you saying, i watched the video 69 times, and Philip totally didn't mention the hole. I don't know what are you saying right now
6:17 Ok am I the only one to notice that triangular wall bit and the 3 wooden planks top left of the entrance to Window room for the first time after 2k hours of game time???
The lighting change feels a lot more natural here than in Dust2. Maybe it's just down to differences in materials used, but I'm hoping it's because they've been listening to feedback and refining their lighting/compile settings. Also, I eagerly await your series of videos where you dig into the new map editor (I feel like you must have done this already when _Alyx_ came out, but I don't recall seeing one) and explain all the engine changes that it lays bare.
@@heloapakoI've called him out on it multiple times and he never refutes it. 5:14 "And it looks like Caps lock got stuck on for this sign right here" I almost spat out my drink, it was so unexpected. These are those tiny details that I signed up for. :D
I just noticed that the writing in French, "Défense dentrer!" had a mistake, the French always place a space before exclamation marks, which is missing, so not having punctuation solves that.
Is the scale of Valve releases linked to the scale of Philip's vacation plans? If so we need to fund a space expedition for Philip so that Half Life 3 releases.
Yoww 3Kliks, Mirage replaced NUKE and added OFFICE in the casual mode. Can't wait for your review ♥️ Also nades can be inspected and the glass... Ya know you may experience it yourself and we will wait for your next review
Philip goes to vacation and Valve always rolls out an update. I see a pattern there -- the more trips Philip goes to, the more updates the CS community will receive. =)
People complain about the maps being too bright but I think it has something to do with the skybox The general vibe of a map can change because of the skybox. No wonder cs2 maps feel “less serious” when the sky looks like something from a romcom anime, all bright and happy, and a very saturated shade of blue.
I'm a tiny bit disappointed that Philip didn't cover one of the few gameplay changes that DID happen, which is the pixel angle from B balcony all the way through apps being closed.
