Hi there pampapaul! Thanks for such amazing and beautiful testimonial! Your progress mean the world to us! We're flattered to be part of your journey! ❤️
I listened this before in a podcast and now I find it here on RU-vid, when o heard the voces I was what? I think I’ve heard these voices before! And that’s right they are the same people 🎉
Wonderfull coversation. It gave me motivation .. I wish I will be achive same kinds of fluency in future. Thank you for having me this kind of podcast 😊
Rachel is wonderful. Especially if your focus on learning is pronunciation and speech techniques. @RealLifeEnglish1 Thank you for this enriching episode with Izzy.
I don't know why it happens to me, i sometimes speak so good and sometime get confused, my mind gets empty and i can't even able to speak a single sentence. Can anyone tell me?
Hey there! Maybe you are having hard time concentrating when you're tired? Or maybe it's easier for you to talk about some topics and it's more difficult to talk about others..
I have the same one! Sometimes I can speak fluently but time to time I can forget everything and being confused 😢 In my case it’s happened when I can’t speak or answer even on my native language. If i have an answer on my own language then 100% I can answer in English
I'm similar in the sense that I also have an US native accent that can easily pass apparently. So far almost everybody including the many Americans I've met say they wouldn't have known that it wasn't my first language, and some still forget sometimes hehe! I also never studied English and literally taught myself the language fairly quickly. Like Izzy, just by playing video games, watching movies and listening to music basically. Nothing more. Fun, free and efficient! :) The reason is somewhat the same as well. I felt it would likely be the most important skill necessary in allowing me to massively extent the scoop of my world and with it the ability to fully interact, understand and experience everything within that additional achieved reach. Not really sure why it sounds so indistinguishable though, besides it being spoken in the forementioned ways I learned it from I guess.
This is not helping someone who wants to learn English. This guy started really early age that means Child can learn anything they watch that's simple. We want someone who started around 20 or above who at same time working how did they get fluency that kind of experience is what can give learner hope or expection.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't find it helpful for you. The learning process can happen at any age in life, and what matters more than the age you are learning is the consistency and how much you immerse yourself in the language. I hope you can find valuable tips for your learning journey. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thanks for all your works for us to learn English better. I love your podcasts and Real life app. And I would ask you to make a podcast about the movie TITANIC 2 . I want to know more about it. THANK YOU
Nada a ver. Eu já sou fluente em inglês, mas estou aprendendo Francês, Alemão e Espanhol aos poucos, sendo que já passei dos 40 e me orgulho muito de onde cheguei!

How could you rate the level of English of a person who listen this podcast without subtitles and understand near a 100% of the content? It was awesome guys, so many tips and tricks , and diferents walks of life. Keep going
Hey Debora, thanks for writing! In the phrase "native like level," the word "like" functions as an adverb modifying the noun "level." Here, "like" is used to describe the level as resembling or being similar to that of a native speaker. So, the phrase "native like level" means a level of proficiency in English that is comparable to that of a native speaker.
I always considered it embarrasing speaking english to native german teachers, who also acquired this language similarly. Some of them, which lived abroad for some time are quite good though, but the impulse to really use the language when speaking to english natives is something entirely different. I instantly recognize german accents usually. Germans tend to pronounce the "i" at the end of many words like an english "e" much too long. That's only one aspect what I don't like e.g. Maybe that's also from learning the language with textbooks and german teachers? In my experience also a solid amount of muiscality helps a lot to be capaable to mimic the sound of foreign languages in general. It doesn't need to be madarin after all. (Ah mentioned as well at 32:35🙂! )
Hi there! Thank you for sharing your learning experience. Indeed, musicality and all the tools you enjoy will help you improve your English. Keep up the great work! ❤️
I have a question to those who don’t agree that the person in this video sounds like a native: 1. What do you believe gives him away as far as accent is concerned? 2. If you don’t believe you can totally sound like a native if you have acquired the language late in life, would you agree that it is possible to learn to sound like one some of the time, in other words, for instance, 70% or 50% of the time in a conversation? This is just an example. I am curious to know your thoughts.
I wanna learn english and want to achieve C2 advance level in english and want to become proficient.According to CEFR we need hours of instruction to reach C1 from 0.But i think I'm already at A2.So, I don't know how many hours of instruction+Study and practice is enough for me to reach my goal. There are 4 skills in a language (Reading, Writing,Speaking and listening)Grammar and vocabulary.I wanted to know that where can i get the instruction to achieve my desired level. And i think he didn't explain very well.He should make on make on this topic and explain us.How he started learning english and how many years took him to reach near-native level.
Thanks for your comment. As Izzy mentioned, he exposed himself a lot to the language and never took a formal course. Mostly it's being curious and inentional about your input and output!
Ele só ouvia e assistia? Foi isso que entendi? rsrs tenho dificuldade no leasing como milhares né, ele morou fora, entendi algumas coisas, palavras soltas sabe 😅
Grammar is the structure of the language. It's absolutely essential. It can be acquired and learned consciously and subconsciously. Both methods should be used. So many native-speakers need to spend more time learning grammatical structures. In English, native-speakers always have huge problems with the past participle. They often say: "It has began, it has took, I haven't sang, have you ever swam, the dog was ran over" instead of "begun, taken, sung, swum and run." Supposed educated native English-speakers like doctors, lawyers, and pastors often say "Would you like to go to dinner with my sister and I?" They actually think that using "I" is the correct pronoun. They would never say "with I," because it sounds wrong to them, but saying "with my sister and I" doesn't sound wrong to them. When learning a second language, we should learn in context and learn through experiences and by using every resource available, but we can also consciously program our minds by deliberately learning phrases that we can use to memorize important structures (grammar) and we can study rules that can help us understand the reason certain structures/patterns are used. If you speak a language and it conforms to the common patterns and structure of the language in question, you know grammar.

M still at the first seconds if the guest started learning English from a young age. Then this is the secret and especially when it comes to having a native-like pronunciation. you should underline this fact just for adult learners to know their position.
Hey joyce, thanks for writing! Thiago is now pursuing a new challenge - he's leading his own channel. You can support him here - www.youtube.com/@teacher.thiagoalencar
Muito legal! O método dele é o mesmo do Felipe Neto. Assistir várias vezes o mesmo video, primeiro com legendas em português, depois em inglês e depois sem nenhuma legenda.
I didn’t get how he managed to speak the language like a native. He wasn’t clear enough, what he said didn’t make sense to me. There’s more to it that he didn’t wanna share despite Ethan kept on asking, almost digging into it. He could have been much more substantial and truthful but he ended up being restrained and redundant. How bad!
I'd love to colaborate in some sort of content with you guys, too. I live in Brazil and I work for the US, and I teach English to Brazilians. Feel free to check my YT shorts
I was about 5-6 when I watched The Lord of The Rings trilogy for the first time and at the time I became addicted to this like I used to watch it every day or every other day... My family thought I'm really crazy about that because how many times you can rewatch the same movie without getting bored, right? Well, I was pretty solid and sturdy :) It's a masterpiece for me and will be forever and it is much better than movies that are created nowadays. Maybe not all of them but most of them. So this is my humble opinion about LOTR. Harry Potter is also great, even better for kids as there's more young characters in Harry Potter's movies.
@@RealLifeEnglish1 I was just shocked to know that it is the case nowadays since those movies and stories are not for very young children... but yet again I am not their parents😅😅😅😅 nowdays things are very different when it comes to language learning. I have two students that can make even different accents because they play video games and are online all the time. And no you don't need a coursebook to learn... but you do need to learn grammar otherwise here jn England nobody would go to school anymore 😆
