Two Questions for Redbull: 1. Has cliff diving ever had Hawaii as a location, since the prize is the King Kahkili? If not, why not? 2. Since there has been locales with open ocean dives, have there ever been any sharks or other sea creatures 🥶 that required a location move?
Indigenous Hawaiians have been asking tourists not to come there because they are going through multiple crises. And tourism makes those things, like their healthcare crisis with covid, their water crisis, housing crisis, and climate crisis, worse. It's good that they're not going to Hawaii for cliff diving.
@@malinia.20 Ahhh, I get it. Thank you so much for the reply. Hawaii is so magical, and Maui in particular. My family went there to grieve and remember my father after his passing, and the people were so kind. The fire was utterly devastating. I hope they are doing better now. I lived in California for decades, and now that I am back in Canada, it's a stark contrast how Canadians have made real progress in treating Indigenous people with respect and self-determination. There have been horrible acts uncovered related to residential schools, but great strides to take responsibility for them. My territory has returned huge swaths of land back to the seven tribes who owned it in the first place. They also have their own government and Justice system, and the difference in treatment and levels of equality and success in society is remarkable. Other Canaduan provinces are using our example as an organizing principle. I hope the US and Hawaii follows this lead too. Thanks again.🙏🏻
@@arcticgoddess Of course!! And maybe that has nothing to do with why RedBull hasn't held a cliff diving competition there. I don't actually know! I have never been to Hawaii before, but it definitely looks magical. Oh I am so sorry for your loss! I have heard that lots of people in Maui are still homeless because of the fires. It's just terrible. And I do not agree that great strides have been taken in Canada on behalf of Indigenous people, because according to Indigenous people who live there, it's still pretty terrible. It's still a settler colony just like the US, even if things are marginally better now than they were in the beginning. But giving the land back is great! I didn't know about that. And yes!! I really hope to see lots more justice for Indigenous people in our lifetimes. They really deserve so much better than all of this. And you're so welcome!!
Nice I’ve jumped off of a 60ft cliff and my body caused a whistle to happen from going soo fast through the air. I didn’t do any fancy flips, just jump, then cross both my feet and my arms. Soo much fun!!

Must be amazing to do that. I have always wondered are the flips more of a timed thing ie. Could be done with eyes closed, or is the landing sighted during your flips 🤔
