ND has the roster to beat anyone. They just usually don’t.

It usually comes down to QB diff. They haven’t had an elite QB since Clausen / Quinn.. but now their young guys are the real deal. Combine that with legit WRs and the future is bright for ND. CJ Carr is the real deal. Marcus Freeman era is hype.

They’ve lacked talent/athleticism on the outside on both sides of the ball for years.

@@mglaid1989 Morrison/Hart last year, Morrison/Gray this year, Kyle Hamilton at Safety for a couple years, X Watts now at safety,...Hard for me to agree with your comment on the defense I think that's incorrect. . Offense, yeah it's been an issue. Thanks to total negligence in recruiting by Del Alexander.

@@Zapatos-xg2yb I’ll give you Hamilton but he’s a bit of an anomaly. The NFL isn’t full of skill position players from ND.

@@mglaid1989 Notre Dame has more all pro safeties in the NFL than any other school. Plus an all american safety on their roster now. They could literally be called safety U. Harrison, Love, Hamilton. Plus Watts. They also have a top 50 freshman recruit at safety in Brauntae Johnson. They hae a top 50 recruit in Ivan Taylor in the 25 class. Plus Ethan Long whos top 100. And they supposedly lead for Jadon Blair who's top 50 as well. Safety U baby! Woo!

Defense: Hard to find a weakness anywhere on this side of the ball. LB was a concern with the draft departures, but Kiser returns as one of the top LBs in the country. Sneed looks like he’s taken the next step as he’s been expected to. KVA will be in the starting rotation as a true freshmen. Xavier Watts is back. Howard Cross III and Riley Mills are back. Benjamin Morrison is back. There’s NFL talent at every level. Offense: The WR room has improved tremendously. The QB room is deep. The RB room is stacked. Mitchell Evans’ return will be much needed, but Eli Rairdon is a force at TE as well. Biggest concerns: Riley Leonard’s health. Leonard has all the tools to fit perfectly into Mike Denbrock’s offense. However, I’m worried about his injury keeping him from building chemistry with the offense. If he can get up to speed over the summer and into the fall, ND will be dangerous. @ Kyle Field in week 1 means the clock is ticking. O-Line: This is my biggest concern. 3/5 starters from last year need replacing. The talent is there but the group lacks experience, which will likely lead to some growing pains. Unfortunately, there is no time for that with A&M on the schedule in week 1 Overall, this team can be great. It’s all on the coaching staff to get the most out of this talented group

They lost Bertrand and Marist. 3 star unathletic players. Typical Kelly recruits. They are being replaced by Sneed(5*) Bowen(5*) KVA(5*) not only will they be fine They will be better. Once Kiser(3*) leaves they will be even better. ND still has a top 5 secondary. They will also have a top 5 DL. Notre Dame's defense will be epic this season.

They can make it to the semifinal. Personally, I don’t see them winning it all but I certainly think they’re a contender

definitely at least the first game which would be home field advantage. They can’t get ranked better than #5 even undefeated because of their lack of conf champ game. Basically balances the board so they don’t get a double bye

I think they could win a game. Their schedule is pretty weak which is a blessing and a curse.

ND was missing these players on offense in the B&G game...Jayden Thomas, Jaden Harrison, Jordan Faison, Cam Williams, Mitch Evans, JD Price and Kedren Young and the offense still looked much improved in the B&G game without those players. It's going to be an exciting year for the Irish.

Faison is not the fastest. Mitchell, Harrison and Cam Williams are the fastest. Faison has sneaky speed but he's more quick than fast.

@@dariusstewart6775 The schedule is weak this year but they play Texas A&M, Florida State and USC (high mid-level SEC, ACC and BIG 10). Louisville isn't terrible. The conference argument is played out

Because the only metric for rankings in preseason is talent and coaching staff. ND has a top 10 roster and a really strong coaching staff

Huh? Who is overrating them? Nobody is saying their #1, but they're easily a top-10 program and have been since 2017.

@@Zapatos-xg2yb idk ESPN had them as high as #5 and they are usually around there in the preseason. I will say that this year I could see preseason top 8 bc I like the OC yall hired I think he'll bring an elite offense w Marcus freeman being a great defensive mind could be a lethal combo but idk feel like nd usually underperforms in top 10 matchups
