Glad to hear it! If you've got any questions I can help with lmk. Even general industry stuff. Hard for me to come up with all the topics I should do videos on.
Well I'm a senior in high school and since I was a kid I always dreamed to be a PE. But right now I don't think I'm sure and I get very scared, especially any time I think of how much time I have left to think of mylife after high school
I actually did something very similar! The biggest thing is to make sure that the courses being taken at the community college will transfer into the PE college. Admissions is the same process I believe.
Thanks so much engineer for the motivation, I am a high school senior in the technical department I study carpentry but want to go in for petroleum engineering in the university but I want more motivations
The trick is to be active throughout college by engaging with companies. Don't wait until senior year to think about a job. Be proactive in seeking out internships throughout. Go to industry events. Get to know people in the industry. Check out our video on advice for college students.
So please, can agriculture students become petroleum engineering. As result of I'm SHS and I do chemistry and physics. and I want to do petroleum engineering in University and become one of the petroleum engineer
That was really helpful! Am a senior high school student and am aiming for petroleum engineering! your video gave me kind of motivation and guidance to proceed on!Thanks a lot!
Thanks I’m just going into 9th grade and I’m already taking classes at uc berkley doing things like college algebra and calc. I was wondering if getting a PhD in petroleum engineering is worth it Edit: I’ve wanted to get a PhD in petroleum engineering since 7th grade
it's very helpful for me to be more interested in persuing this career when i heard you said “we're not destroying the earth”, cuz I hate destroying nature hahahah Thankyouuu
Honestly, you're going to have a hard time getting a job in PE if you don't have a good GPA. Obviously, many of your classes are going to be based on math and science. So, if you can't learn to love it or can't find a good tutor, perhaps you could target another type of job within the oil and gas industry where you can still do what you love, but not have the heartache of an engineering degree but no engineering job.
Yea I’m also in 6th grade and I’ve been around all of oil my whole life basically so I’m just trying to learn as much as I can right now so when I do get to high school i know what classes I should take and what I need to do
We don't publicly advise individuals on which colleges to go to. There are other sites that offer rankings, but it comes down to you and what is important to you in a college.
How'd you do in the rest of your math classes? If you suck at math overall, you're going to have a hard time. However, we all have that class or two that we just didn't do well in.
I don't think this matters very much. You won't likely be able to transfer HS classes as college credit unless your in a program where you take college level courses in high school. However, chemistry/physics/math classes are all important. Try to do your best in those.
I would care less about the ranking and more about how good the recruiting is at that college. How many students leave with jobs? How many companies come to campus and recruit? That'll tell you how good the program is and also how likely it is that you'll get a job.
Hi im a lebanes high schooler and im hooked in petroleom im in grade 11 i need some advice about college classes what should i do to become a petroleom engineer how many years i need and thank you for your intrest in oil and gas
Thanks for the question. Be sure to check out our video on what classes a petroleum engineer takes. As for how many years it takes, it'll depend on what college you go to and your course load. Most programs are 4 years.
Bassam Hamieh hey i’m also a lebanese highschooler (10th grade) interested in the matter if u found out some important stuff and would like to share please contact me on instagram @nad16er
@@naderayoub7396 Awesome man. I am part Moroccan and part Iraqi and I am interested in this field but I am not sure if its right for me. My insta is @formula_pro1. I was wondering if you could give some of the information that you know about! thanks man!
Im gonna be in high school in 3 months and there is electives in our school, I want to study petroleum engineering and I have 3 years left. How do I start preparing for petroleum engineering and what do I choose as electives? And do I take AP chemistry in my last year at school or I take Ap physics?
Very happy to be able to find this video. I am going to be attending The Hildebrand Department of Petroleum Engineering. And to say I'm nervous and anxious is an understatement. However, I'm excited nonetheless.
This question might be weird, but if I have SAT I 1400+ and SAT II 700+(MATH LVL2, PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY) with a proper motivational letter about the fact that I have enough experience for schooler in petroleum engineering(thanks to my dad, he is also petroleum engineer in a small company), what are my chances to apply for a full scholarship??
