Despite the city’s wealth, Hong Kong’s housing crisis is a big issue. The consequences of the city’s astronomically high housing prices include the prevalence of tiny cage homes, coffin home, coffin cubicles, subdivided flat, partitioned rooms and people resorting to sheltering in fast-food restaurants.
How housing crisis started? What is the cause? Shortage of land?

1 From June 1963, Hong Kong imposed the highest level of water rationing. The residents were supplied with water once every four days, and each time only for a four-hour period. This rationing lasted a year. AT that time , cland developers ue sea water to do cement construction, that cause serious re bar rottening. Thats why some of the Hk buildings deterating so fast

I think the HK government has no incentive to solve the housing crisis. They are collecting very good revenue via land sales. Otherwise, this revenue needs to come from GST / VAT, which the people opposes.

It seems that they are stuck in the middle between being environment friendly while getting the market going so that infrastructure can resume. That is an issue most developers are inflicted with, time management comes inyo a big play.

If the Singapore government can solve the housing issue, why can't Hong Kong? Because from1997 onward, the newly form government trying to get new registration through but couldn't.They are stuck with so call ''Democratic'' decision, maily back by the developer fat cats and wealthy individual, which worry more about their own property welfare, rather than those living in extreme poverty. If the government care so much, they should just build more housing for the old and vulnerable, rather than just sell the land to the fat cats. It is the matter of the failed government and those greedy bastards at the top of society that control property prices, not true market demand.

Complete nonsense, the housing crisis started many moons ago, when the British was ruling the island and is not something since 1997 as this programme also hinted.
