Today I tested internal and external temps shot for shot on my 375 Snipetac. How hot will it get when burning over 1500 grains of H50 down the pipe in a few minutes time?
Well done!!! One thing is the chamber may actually be a little hotter than down the barrel but some heat is being sinked out from cycling the case in and out between shots. This exercise gives a good idea of how the barrel heats up and what the heat distribution is like.
Great test. I have a case with powder closed off at the neck with a temp sensor inside. I graph and take note of the Mv change per degree and by mapping this out I always know my Mv no matter the temp of the powder and primer. The temp stable powder I use and the primer actually changes the Mv. H-4831sc with a federal primer is 0.4 fos/ 1 degree in this certain cartridge. I do see this change based on the amount of powder a case holds and the primers make a difference. Thanks!!
Great video man. I see it's 3 years ago but I'm new to long range precision shooting after covid left me handicapped 2.5 years ago. I glad to see this sport taking off finally. I'm a very technical type of guy and whatever I do I try to be the best. This is by far the most challenging hobby I've ever had by far. Hunted all my life but after a few months I learned nothing I already knew
Continued::::: from hunting, besides safety, would I be able to transfer to long range shooting. Small things that don't matter when hunting will absolutely destroy you at long range
@@Todmodke-tl1mygas recoil operated rifles get hotter because of the gasses required to operate the action. I have no idea how hot it would get its a totally different animal than this rifle.
