Inspiring, watched all your videos and gave you a sub. How did you know when you could balance both cars, a property, and your daily expenses? I would definitely need a daily due to the snow winters where I am at... Currently have a 10th gen accord and want to hop into a Supra, just unsure when to pull the trigger. I make that same range of monthly income after taxes, deductions, investments, but still am scared about it NGL.
Bro I was in the SAME position as you. Never knew when to pull the trigger and was scarred that I wouldn't be able to afford it once I bought it since I never really made a purchase this big before. Basically, I knew when month after month after all my expenses were paid and still putting up money into my savings account I would still have a good amount of money left over so I decided to go ahead and get the car. I also knew the more money I put down the less my monthly payment would be so I did put down probably more than the average person so my payment would be under $500. 4 months later I'm affording the car and still living comfortably. My advise... get the car bro its a big accomplishment and we only live once :)
I would DM people on twitter that needed a thumbnail by searching up "need a thumbnail" lol. I would find their post and comment or DM if the had messages open
Yup….lets go tot Houston where hurricanes rip down your house and you need a boat to get down the streets that have been flooded; ohh, let’s also steam ourselves in a never ending 100deg + 100% humidity city too. 👍
In a similar boat but looking into an m340i x drive since i live in Boston and i plan on using it as a daily. Might keep my 8th gen si but I'm not sure yet. I currently bring like 3600 after taxes and everything. I could do 20k down but i don't know when the right time is cause i want a good deal but I'm not seeing any. Thought about buying an older 340 or 440 for like 35k and under but those fly off the shelf here and even the newer m340 fly within a month.
20K down is a lot of money bro especially making 3.6K a month. Id probably say wait a little longer. I guess it also depends if you are living on your own.
@JoePOV I don't live alone. It wouldn't be very doable in the greater Boston area where rent will run you a nice 2k a month on your own. With 20k down I could either basically pay off an older 340 or 440 or do about half on a newer m340. Money wise I have the 20k pretty much in my checking so I could but it's more so should I wait since the MA market is pretty screwed compared to elsewhere. I might get a slightly better deal if I'm willing to shop somewhere farther out.
@@freewilly5073 Kinda now depends on how much left over you would have. For example if you have 30K in the bank and put down 20k that only leaves you with 10K for emergencies ect. Ur only one misfortunate accident away from being put into a bad financial position you feel me?
@JoePOV 100%. That's mainly the reason why I haven't pulled the trigger but I also don't think I'll grow my emergency fund past 10k for now since I'm getting better returns on my stocks and treasurery bills than my 4% in my savings. Ideally I can slide into the 400 to 500 a month mark but it'll come with time. I'm ok with getting the bmw since I've dumped like 20 to 30k into my civic in the last 2 to 3 years of owning it. So to me switching to a newer car should ideally pull me out of the endless fixing money pit. I'm seeing even 70k mile m340 go for like 36k on the used market so if I drive it for a few years it won't lose a ton of value and it'll be fun. I'm a way we all have 1 hobby we will spend money on even if we have to cut the others and right now I'd say cars is the one. I was looking into Porsche 718 and 911 but the cost of maintenance is a lot higher even if they hold a lot more value and I'd have to keep my civic for the winters whereas the m340 can be a daily sporty car. I might shop around near the end of the year to see if prices get any better but I can always keep holding off till I feel more comfortable.
38K. It was hard to find a 2020 (its hard to tune 2021+) with lower mileage at a decent price and with no accidents. Seems every supra on the market within 5 hours from me was in an accident.
@@allenmanalo-dg9ic Idk than. Maybe this was an exception?? But yea I gave them the VIN, mileage, and many photos so they had a pretty good idea of what they were getting!
