We need not be so shy to use the word 'fasting' before Muslims... for us fasting is not a programme of the Church to show off in front of others; though Church tells us When to fast meditating the Mysteries of Jesus ( the incarnation, passion death and resurrection ). For Muslims its their religion dictates how one should fast and its rigorous. But in Christianity fasting is something the expression of love towards God and the Church gives guidelines to do the minimum... there are Christians who eat one time a day for one whole season of lent... and there are Christians who drink water alone for those fifty days !!! Can you belive it ? So fasting for us is more personal to decide how much one should sacrifice... it's our love towards God we express and God doesn't need our 'rigorous' fasting anymore as a mandatory act demanded by Church .. It doesn't mean that we are free to avoid fasting since it would mean we don't love anymore in that case... we need to love and to express it... and this expression differs from person to person... some in my area (India ) leave sandals during lent... Learn about Muslims and you will see there is no much room for them to show their degree of love towards God through personal method of fasting where we Christians do have... for Muslims fasting is a rule with guidelines what to do where for us Christians we have all the freedom to show our love the way we want during fasting... and they (Muslims) celebrate sumptuous feast at night of their fasting so it's a day and night programme totally having opposites like black and white...

Do worry about them for them they eat all night until 4 morning and they fast day time, some are sleeping day time, so me an worker in Saudia and I have learn them. They don't pray long as we do, so their practise is different, the more I show is they wash legs all time of pray, coz they don't have baptism

During Ramadan Muslims actually change their eating times.... they eat from Dusk to Dawn instead of the usual Dawn (breakfast) to Dusk( dinner).not really fasting just change of eating times.🖖

I fasted for 25 days just water.

Also Catholics created the Bible and decided to had it in one language , the latin Vulgate in 382. I think that Muslims copy in same way catholic idea. Also if you read Epiphanius of Salamis book, Panarion, that has the list of old heresies, you will find some jews sects think the books of the old testament were not correct. I think Mahoma has contact with those groups when starting his religion.
