It's like you heard my cries. I'm having so many breakouts and spots at the moment, at age 46, more than i had as a teenager. Maybe I need to simplify my skincare routine like you suggest.
I uses gentle cleanser even baby soap then well moisturize at nights with Vaseline. I'm 42 * Vaseline with aloe vera in it or cocoa butter is perfect *
I follow this type of regimen and I’ve seen a great improvement my skin. I’ll add to consider adding in a heavy duty brightener if you’re dealing with stubborn hyperpigmentation. Just make sure it’s compatible with your retinoid. Great advice! ❤❤
Girl, 43 where? I've been subscribed for a few years now, and I thought you were in your 20's. Your skin is so beautiful and supple. I love your videos!!!❤❤❤
awww thanks! I did a step-by-step tutorial when I learned how to do it back in lockdown: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zNrNHOgcG14.html
I used to have an extra crazy routine and would try different methods like 7 skins. I enjoyed that phase but I love my simple routine now. I still do a few of my “extra” treatments I learned and tested that are true when I’m having different skin problems. Like if it’s winter and my skin is dryer I’ll layer on a few hydrating essences and toners. Or if I see my skin looking a little dull, I’ll do a chemical exfoliation facial. But for the most part, it’s wash at night with retinol moisturizer every other day and regular moisturizer every other day. Morning it’s water, serum (whatever I’m trying at the time or issue I’m dealing with but peptides, vitamin C, niacinamide, mix, etc), moisturizer with sunscreen. I think both journeys were necessary for me to really perfect my skincare routine. It’s so easy I literally do it without really thinking. I do the same process with my body including retinol moisturizer and alternating regular lotion, except any serums that didn’t work for my face I may use during regular lotion days on my body and morning is just straight sunscreen on exposed areas.
also, that's not the only takeaway from this video. yes, agency sells custom prescription formulas that help with dark spots (which, if you have dark spots, you're going to need something effective to fade them) but I also gave my personal preventative tips.
Great video doc you know I had to tune in lol, Im tryna get like you, right now in my routine im trying to make sure everything is working towards eliminating my hyperpigmentation, I forgot about how well antioxidants and sunscreens work well together, imma look into that thank you! You looked beautiful in this bide as you always do! I was wondering since it's about to be summer, can you give us some videos on summer makeup looks? or some more on sunscreen and make up and how to get your makeup sweat proof? only if you have some spare time in your schedule, love the content always!
hey boo! thank you! I would love to do more makeup videos, but when I post them, they get really low views. My friend makeup artist Jaleesa Jaikaran posts makeup content regularly on her Instagram and Tiktok (@jaleesajaikaran)---check her out.
I literally tried 10 sunscreens on my skin, and nothing works. They all irritate my skin. It could be mineral or chemical or hybrid, it doesn't matter. It just does not work. I just don't know what to do now.
I was like you. I still have to test them out. Years and years of testing till I found ones that work. Keep trying. Just make sure you're able to return if it doesn't work so you're not at a complete loss. For me, I kept finding products w. Coconut oil & shea butter that was irritating my skin and it wasn't always the sunscreen itself. So I had to omit products w. Those ingredients.
I don't know if this will help but I had the same problem with sunscreens last year. I had to double-cleanse with a gentle cleanser first, followed by my regular salicylic acid cleanser before bed each night and the breakouts stopped . I also switched to a lightweight Korean brand of sunscreen too
Heyyy! Try to find the ingredient all of those sunscreens have in common. You might find that it’s not the UV filters but something else in them that irritates your skin.
I would love to find a moisturizer + antioxidant with no SPF for daytime use. I have to use Korean sunscreens because American ones make my eyes burn so badly.
Jst like me. I have an oily acne prone skin. Been using Cien sun lotion SPF 50 but it makes my skin more oily and shiny though it doesn't give me break outs. Am scared of trying out other Sunscreens incase I get breakouts
@@kakyodoreen8376 that's understandable I've been looking at different reviews and everyone seems to agree the joseon stick is good for oily skin. From reviews it sounds like it's mattifying without being drying so a Happy medium. I have dry skin and hate feeling greasy so I get what you mean when it comes to trying new stuff out
heyyy! Kojic acid is an amazing ingredient when included in a well formulated product. I however wouldn't recommend some of those kojic acid soaps I see people trying on social media---they seem to be extremely harsh and for some people that can cause more harm than help.
