the "I didn't take high school seriously then went to college and had to learn" really resonnated with me. Great video, it was interesting learning about your journey!
Great video! I worked in Cisco TAC for 1 year. I was in Collaboration Voice Gateway Team. Unbelievable experience there. You learn so many things. The fast paced environment, severity cases and all. So much exposure to different customers infrastructure.
Do you have any advice for people who want to get into a collaboration role? I have the fortune to learn about CUCM and other voice-related stuff in my current role but I will have to find a new job soon, and I’m afraid I can’t find a new job related to voice. I’m trying to get CCNA but CCNA doesn’t cover knowledge about voice so I’m still worried. 😅
This is so great! Subscribed! I had no idea networking was a job option. After college, I ended up working as an assistant to a CTO. When I found out how much money all the IT people were making, I was like... this is fine, I can just do IT. The Networking group was by far the nicest so I decided to be a network engineer. It's such a great career. Challenging, fun, always changing, and a million great Halloween costume possibilities. lol
It’s so nice to hear that other people had internships where your job description is “whatever IT stuff they need”. I’m starting a new job and I’m terrified so it’s nice to know that someone I respect was also scared on their first day 😊
I just love your videos, I'm actually getting my CCNA cert to Work in a Cisco TAC and I then I'll focus on Cybersecurity (I'm also learning programming) and your videos help me a lot and inspire me. Grettings from Costa Rica, Pura vida!!
Thanks for finally doing some RU-vid content! I really appreciated this video as I'm currently getting my degree in IT and trying to figure out what I want to focus on. I've really enjoyed my networking courses so far, but I don't really know what that would look like day to day as a job. Maybe you could do a video exploring a typical day as a network engineer?
The video content you condensed for the TT audience, you can expand and utilize those details on YT. Congrats on the fantastic start. BHIS rocks and Content is KING!
Wooohoo!! Congrats on the video! Great work! Also, it really seems like most of our careers have a point where we're doing "whatever IT stuff someone asks", that makes me feel better too!
I studied CIS as my bachelor's but did a master's in systems engineering so I've been working as a manufacturing engineer for over 8 years now and never had a CIS related job. Now I'm interested in networking as a side job since there are many remote options.
Happy to see some YT content :) If I could offer some feedback....I had to turn the volume way up on my tv to hear clearly (yeah I'm old but not that old lol), compared to other YT vids. I dunno if the mic is too far away or what, but just wanted to let you know. Looking forward to many vids on your channel 😊
I live in the UK, went to college, studied IT with all the different topics relating to it such as networking, online world plus cisco and linked in and more. Got my A levels two years ago. I've struggled to find an apprenticeship nearby to me, so I gave the search a rest for the time being. I then began to look through again and found something that caught my desire. However, it costed money... and well that wasnt an issue however, my dad didnt trust it lol. SOOOO... a year later and here we are, my college never had level 4 apprenticeship for networking, as that was what i was aiming to do, so i searched through other colleges and found two that had it. Only thing is its an hour away but i dont care, im going for it. I cant waste my life listening to others, what i learnt was that if i felt its necessary, then im going for it. No... questions... asked. I just wondered, would you know what they do in network engineering as an apprentice? Could you please give me an overview. Thank you, id appreciate it :)
Nice to see more women get into the field. Saw the Hak5 video you did. You mentioned using Burp to examine your phone traffic. You might look at doing a video on that.
Thank you for sharing, but handling TAC cases for Servers does not exactly sound like being a network engineer. Is this where you still are or have you moved on?
I also graduated with an information systems degree. I was interested in pursuing a career in network engineering. What recommendations do you have for a recent grad with no IT experience?
Hey! I’m currently doing the TCE Apprenticeship program with Cisco. I start the interview process 2 weeks from now. Any tips or advice would be appreciated
Hi I am gagan. I got a CCNA 3 year ago. From that day to till I am finding a job.but No one give me response. Please help me how can I find a job in networking. Even in the entry position
What other certifications do you have? How’s your resume? Have a degree? What experience do you have? How are your soft skills? What jobs are you applying too? Have you reached out to recruiters on LinkedIn?
@@shenetworks David Bombal posted an image on twitter couple days ago "Until you spread your wings you will have no idea how far you can fly". Nice 1st video, I'm trying to get in IT for myself atm and I feel ... even if I know that's my new path after 15 years in sales it also scares me. Hearing your story and how you pushed through difficulties and challenges helps me and I guess also a lot of others looking for a way in life. Improving over time is the perfect way doing so. Looking forward to your future content :) btw. you drove a Honda civic? Isn't that the same car Linus Tech Tips drove? Please tell me yours was not pink. :)
@@shenetworks DaVinci is great been using it for years and still just cut all the clips together 😂 luckily if you want do more than just the basics you can find a ton of tips from RU-vid videos
