Single moms don’t get enough credit especially if the kids are special needs. In my eyes my mom is the most incredible woman on the earth raising 3 kids on her own dealing with my special medical needs and always making sure we were put first. While my biological father choose to stay out of my life i have amazing father figures Brother, Uncles, Cousins and my “dad” (grandfather) who passed in January they’ve all stepped up and been there from day one through every milestone with me. Kaidale may not be able to verbally say so you are amazing in every way in his eyes. Keep doing what your doing 💕

So proud of you, momma! I know I don’t know you, but I can’t describe how lucky Kaidale is to have you. I teach ASD students and I feel for my students’ families. The fact that you are able to provide the wonderful services and therapy you do is such a testament to the love and support you provide to your baby. Even the ability to have a bike in the household is huge for kids with varying abilities. Bio dad is missing out, but you’re fine and Kaidale will be fine. Does bio dad’s family know about Kaidale? If not, they are missing out, too! Such a beautiful soul your little one has!

You are a very strong woman. I feel like I’m having deja vu because everything that you are saying is what I went through and I am also a single mom with my 5 year old that has autism. I am so happy you pursued your passion for nursing and still being such an amazing single mom! You inspire me!!!!

Girl, I have almost the same story as you...same age when I got pregnant, same type of “father” isn’t it funny how guys can check out and do them when the girl gets pregnant but us girls have no choice we have to man up and raise the kids by ourselves..also the thought NEVER crossed my mind re:Kaidale being adopted that is crAzy that people asked you that..keep doing you girl obviously you got this and been had this! Just like the rest of us single moms who don’t get child support I feel u on that..
@Rippenhengst
@Rippenhengst 4 года назад
There is a choice. You can get an abortion. Espacially when you got no education, no job that could feed you and your child, no money to pay the rent and pay for a little child. Not many young women in such situations have supportive parents like her.
@ericafuentez6465
@ericafuentez6465 4 года назад
Rippenhengst I was talking about us that didn’t get an abortion..not against abortion either every women has a choice, I was lucky to have supportive parents that helped me like her I wasn’t saying anything bad just about deadbeat dads that’s all
@slix96
@slix96 4 года назад
Rippenhengst not making an issue on abortion; but the best way to prevent any pregnancy is BOTH people take precautions so it doesn’t happen in the first place. Abortion isn’t supposed to be a form of birth CONTROL. BOTH people should ensure they are ready for the consequences of being connected with someone for the rest of their lives. Either way she is taking care of her son and has moved on and that is what’s best for everyone

You're doing a great job as a single Mom! I have an unconventional relationship also, because we are not married, and I can relate to a lot of your single-parent advice, because her father goes away for contracting work for 2 months at a time and I homeschool her and we live away from our family and friends, so I have nobody to leave her with and I just stay home with her 24/7. Her dad comes home for 2 weeks and then goes away for 2 months again, so I often feel like a single parent lol Keep up the great work!

I'm a single mom. I'm glad you and your son has a supportive family. My son is on the ASD Spectrum. I've been doing this on my own from day ONE. His father is in the UK and has decided not to be a part of his life. It breaks my heart because my son is 16 and wants his dad to be a part of his life so bad. My only regret is not telling him a lie that his father is dead. It's the saddest thing to hear your son pretending to talk to his dad. I'm glad you cut your loses, for both of your sakes.

I don’t think people ask about him being adopted because of his skin color being different. Maybe it is because you often say that you are a single parent by choice, and so often people say that when they have chosen a donor or they have have adopted. Perhaps. At any rate, I think you both are beautiful and that you are doing a great job. I think he seems very happy. Great job.

Wow, thanks for another great vlog. I never have wondered any of those questions you answered & I guess I'm not entirely sure why people ask such things. I mean, like you said, there are A LOT of single parents out there & every story is different & complex, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. I just really enjoy watching your channel. Those details never mattered to me. I never even questioned if Kaidale is your biological son, because he looks like you, so that question never entered my mind, either. I don't know, maybe it's my age. I am actually old enough to be Kaidale's Great-grandmother, so I probably see things differently than the younger crowd. What I see is an amazing mom, dedicated nurse, provider, entertainer to a very handsome, amazing young, happy boy. I am subbed to all of the clog squad, which started with me watching FA, then Lauren, to the Wee Family, then to Jen, & then I finally learned about your channel, when you started joining everyone else on the adventures at Disney World & Playlist live, or whatever that was you all went to a few months ago. I love all of the families at all of those channels!!! I want to thank you & your mom, once again, fir doing such amazing jobs as nurses. I have always had such great respect for all first responders, Fire, Police. Health care, etc. Have an awesome week!😉

My (white) grandson lives with his other grandparents and has since birth. My(white) ex and her (black) husband. In kindergarten when the staff still helped each child into the car he actually a couple times had staff stop him. One actually argued with my grandson, telling him that he's getting into the wrong car on a day that his grandpa picked him up. He told the staff that's my grandpa and she actually stood there, in the pickup line, arguing with my grandson saying "that man, that's your grandpa? He kept saying "yes, that's my grandpa" and trying to get in the car with his grandpa like he does about half the time. All the while if she had looked there is a tag with my grandson's info hanging on the rearview mirror. She just didn't look, she went straight to seeing a black man picking up a white child. I have never had them question me, even when I pick him up in my car, I give his name and no one questions it. It's crazy how people act when they see a mixed race family. Some people have definitely got some catching up to do..it shouldn't be that way in 2020.

I’ve been a single parent for 7 years. I have two girls with the same man. 7 and 16 months. While we were together after our 7 year old was born, I was the only one supporting our oldest, and the only one parenting her. Their dad just wasn’t capable of that. He grew up in a pretty rough life, and never got parenting, so that never came naturally to him. He basically just played with and loved our oldest. There was never any parenting. I ended up getting pregnant with our 2nd baby and shortly after finally ended it. He was very sick in his addiction, and wasn’t able to be around anymore and be in the right frame of mind. It’s the hardest job there is, to be a parent, and I think it’s even harder when you’re doing it by yourself. Like you, I also have family to help, if I need them to watch the kids here or there. But it’s 100% me. I love watching your videos, watching you being a strong, stable, single mom!

You are an amazing mum, whether single or not. The fact that you have to do it alone with a child who demands your attention all of the time makes you a super mum. You may not be offended about the adoption question but I am for you, this,as you stated, is 2020. There is no reason why he wouldn’t be yours other than for reason of race. His biological father (I won’t use the word dad because that would indicate that he has some input into Kaidale’s life) should be ashamed he doesn’t contribute financially but you should be proud you went through nursing school on your own and continue to work as a nurse despite the fact that you have a child on the AS.

You’re story is all too similar to my own, minus the autism part. I have a biracial son who is also 8. His “father”, like Kaidale’s, wasn’t putting much effort and also into things that go against my values. We are way better off and he has my father as a role model also. I agree with taking things day by day. You have to. We are doing the same. Keep being an inspiration to others. I love watching and thank you for sharing your story today. ❤️❤️❤️

Our family tries really hard not to get upset with certain questions .. but it’s hard. My oldest is my neurotypical child , he is also biologically my nephew however myself and my other half have cared for him since he was a baby and got guardianship of him when he was 4 , he is 10 now. We are still shocked by the amount of people who ask “but who’s is he...” his biological mother, my sister was 16 , his biological father was 15 ... even to this day in their mid 20’s they aren’t ready to be parents. My son was actually listening to this video while I was in the kitchen and said “sounds like my mom and dad” that’s the kind of stuff that really hurts. Bottom line : family comes in a shapes and sizes it’s still family.

I think maybe people who are curious are asking, "is he adopted?",are trying to find a different way to ask, "Was Kaidale's father black?" Because that makes them sound prejudice. Not that you owe anyone an explanation about anything but I guess that's the nature of the beast when your vlogging. I truly thought it was pretty self evident but if you are not around families of every kind, it is not. I was a nurse, I work in a school and I've had foster children for 20 years. I have to remind myself occasionally that other people don't live in my world. More often than not it is curiosity rather than prejudice. Not always!!!

My daughter does the same thing when she wants something. She hollers or says a one word request or name of a character. Sometimes she would holler the name of the show or character n even which episode she wanted. Kaidel reminds me slot of her. Then she'll keep pointing at it saying "that's caillou" (for example). She doesn't sit still either. Constantly moving n doing. Lots of respect for being a single mom with a child on the spectrum. It's alot to handle sometimes for me n I'm married to my autistic daughter's father n we have an older son that loves her alit n helps so much. U did the right thing for your son breaking ties with his dad while he was still very young n moving home to go to nursing school. That's sad that his dad couldn't step up for him the way he should but he seems very happy,cared for n loved just having u n your parents. You're an awesome mama.

My son is on the spectrum and he's 22 now. I raised him as a single mom and honestly it was for the best because it was a very bad situation. It was really hard and still is to a certain degree but my son and I have an unbreakable bond that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

A mother will always, always be there for their sons but sometimes it’s better to have the sons live with their fathers. They can take care of the kids and sometimes the difficult ones should be with their dads.

I want to work with special needs kids because I am great with kids. I'm working at a preschool that has a few special needs kids and I'm learning from you and Fathering Autism on how to help them. Also 2 of my cousins have autism and my 2 little brothers have autism.

I think it has become more common for single people to adopt when they don’t see a relationship on the horizon. The idea that you’d want to be a mom, you don’t need a man to do so. Like you said. It’s 2020. All the love! 🥰

I admire your courage to tell everyone your story. it is not my business nor anyone elses business who kaideles father is. But if kaideles father wanted to get back in kaideles life and you could tell he would be responsible would you. I know its personal i help babysit kids and their mom has been in and out of their life and shes trying to get back in it but i don't want them to get hurt again

I'm sorry people don't know how to mind their business and just be thankful for the content and information that RU-vidrs provide. It's my perception that the theme of Kaitlin&Kaidale's channel pertains to autism awareness, not their "family tree".

Believe it or not, in 2020, some people find it hard to believe that a white woman would have a child with a man who is not white. That's exactly why they would think your son is adopted, despite the fact that he looks so much like you. How you balance everything is beyond me. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, mama, and do what you have to for yourself and your son. Blessings.

That's exactly why they ask, which is ridiculous. He looks identical to her and people are trying to do the most because he is biracial. She had a child with someone of a different race..so what!!He is being taken care of and that's what is important.

So this really has nothing to do with anything but I'm listeneing to journey- seperate ways in the background and watching the video at the same time and you said seperate ways as the same time as the song did and the look i got from my husband and my son was hilarious. It was just so perfectly in sync. 😂

He looks just like you! Never occurred to me to wonder if he would have been adopted??? 🙄 as much as I enjoy your channel I don’t know how you tolerate peoples opinion. I would have to have comments turned off . I think it would not change the wonderful content you put out . Keep doing you . 💜
