I have a CFmoto 650 Adventura. I was very skeptical of buying a Chinese bike. The price was already very competitive, but since it wasn't selling, my local dealer discounted it. I got it for under $5k. Now I'm glad I bought it. It is a really good bike for short money.
They're good but just wait for the rusting screws and bolts on it. They don't age well outside. Saying that, most of the cheap Japanese stuff is the same, yamaha being really bad in my experience. Keep it indoors and it's sweet
ill say this im happy you're still using the Ace Pro, too many times do I see influencers get an action cam, bash gopro for about 10-15 mins, put the camera they got for free on a pedestal and then go back to GoPro for the next full year until the new cameras come out.
I quite enjoy my CFMOTO Ibex 800T. I ride it like a street/sport bike but you sit upright and comfortably for long rides and can carry a bunch of crap and do mild off-road. All with heated grips, heated seat, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, quick shifter, TFT 🤯
I have the 450SS and about 800 miles in still love it just sounds and handles beautiful. Update: 3/11/24 180 miles post 620 mile service bike pouring oil after just a 70 mile ride. Waiting for dealership to pick it up hoping the bikes motor is not blown.
Love the collaboration, and the video was excellent. You two (plus the extra camera bike of course) could just ride around talking about anything and it would probably be pretty interesting
I love my 300nk. This video gets it spot on, everyone hates em til they swing a leg, then it's all "oh wait it has this too?!" Cfmoto is killing it and I will definitely be sticking around when I go bigger. They'll catch on
My CFMoto is a very solid build, I think as good as any bike I've owned. The most chitzy bike I've owned was a Honda CTX700. Everything on that bike was plastic, and I broke something on it every time I removed a panel to work on it. By the time I traded it in the panels were all not matching one another because no tabs to keep them aligned. It's also the only bike that's ever left me stranded, it just refused to start one day. Half an hour later I tried again and it just started. No explanation. It did that to me twice.
I gave you a hard time about the video when you compared it to a 790, finally, I checked them out at the dealership, well for me, it was impossible to pay 500$ more for less, here in Romania they had a winter sale for the NK 800 Advanced version, better than the one you have with a touchscreen display, apple car play, and many extras was 6791$ 2023 model, I just couldn't pass that, there is nothing closer to this in that price range, here a used MT 07 is like 5k, I m waiting for the bike to arrive next week. My buddy got an IBEX 800 for 8.5k at the same winter special deal. I was thinking if anyone else on RU-vid thinks the NK its a steel at 8K well at 6.7K it should be a no-brainer.
I have the 650nk 2023 model in Australia. Fkn great bike cost me 8k from the dealer out the door. Couldn’t be happier best value for money. Only trouble I’ve had is finding parts like bobbins and sliders and bar ends. The AliExpress purchases are hit and miss but the quality seems to be ok for what I’m doing.
Waco and cults🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I thought that you were going to master the strength to resist going there but I guess the force is too strong. Spite at the back of a 400cC? He should have just walked, this was a fun video I really hope that there will be a part 2
Hey Spite I saw you just got that HF work table and if you want to make your life easier and safer when working solo spend the money and get a stand similar to a Conder wheel chock and bolt it to the table and you will be able to roll your bikes on that table and not have to struggle with strapping them in you will do yourself a huge favor. There is even a Harbor Freight version you could fiddle and tweak with to make it work as well but this is the Condor that is on my Hf bike table and I honestly never strap it down unless I am doing some tail or rear end work and using the center stand or a jack. Love the video's and keep up the great work!
This was a great chat about these bikes. I feel that many Chinese brands are proving themselves with good quality products these days. That's not to say that there aren't still terrible Chinese bikes out there, because there definitely are, but Chinese brands seem to be just another option in the motorcycle world. I've had two Chinese bikes so far, and they are great for beginner riders and amateur mechanics due to their simplicity. I just hope to see more from CF Moto in South Africa in the future. The Chinese brands here have really proven themselves over many years and are worth considering for new and old riders alike.
I owned a 2016 CFMoto 650nk for ~4 years from 2018 to 2022. I was doing all my gymkhana training and daily commute with it. I'd say it's a good bike in general but the brakes and suspensions were very bad, no major quality issues say oil leaks or failure but engine lights and all kinds of errors go on and on. I have been fixing things like water pump failures, ECU errors, coolant leaks, O2 sensor faults, oil leaks caused by low-quality CFMoto oil filters, etc. I would say it's a cheap bike that is very good to practice and to learn but probably not for most riders in the US since the manual costs for repairs are so high and the consequence of a failed bike on the highway is also very high. They are indeed very aggressive on equipment and pricing for sure even back in 2016 so I'd say give it a few years until the issues emerge before you purchase their new models. Not to mention that they are using this new shared platform with KTM twins, unlike the old 650nk which is based on a much more mature Kawasaki 650 platform already been developed for years.
It’s nice to see all the Japanese manufacturers step their game up after CFMoto entered the scene. Suzuki finally released a new bike. We got a new ninja. Yamaha started putting TFT displays on some of its bikes. This is great for the consumer.
China's history of intellectual property theft and currency devaluation is the moral of the story here. CFMoto's bikes are obviously good because they're essentially Kawasaki's and KTM's (evidenced by a video from Spite showing KTM branding on the oil filters. If my memory is correct it was the hard break-in video). They can easily place higher tech parts on their bikes because they also have a history of devaluing their currency and treating workers poorly (part of the reason everything Chinese-made is so cheap). The reality is that there is no escape from Chinese manufacturing in the global economy, so there are plenty of bikes/parts and other goods that inevitably come from China. However, the issue with CFMoto is not their quality but the geopolitical implications of purchasing from a Chinese company, thereby directly supporting a country with ideals and governance directly at odds with American and European interests and what many would consider an evil regime. Hopefully it makes everything cheaper and pushes the industry forward like you say, but clearly knowing where the dollars are going is what makes this company a hard no for many people.
Most Americans don’t care where their cheap bacon comes from, they just care that’s it’s cheap. Step foot in a Tyson plant and be ready to never eat meat again.
Spite, as a heftier rider myself would you skip the 450 engine and go straight to a 800? Been eye balling the Ibex 800T but was partially interested in the Ibex 450 MT coming out later this year due to living off more rural country roads (dirt and gravel), but I’d also have a lot of 70-75mph hwy roads to travel as well.
If you can get past the politics of where they're made, there are some decent motorcycles being built in China. Recently, over the course of 3 weekends, I rode the CFMOTO 300SR & 800MT Explore, the Benelli Leoncino 500 & the Harley Davidson x350. They're all great motorcycles & really good value, apart from the Harley, and I'd be happy to have any of them in my garage. In fact a friend of mine just added the Benelli to his collection.
The value of these CFMOTO bikes is outstanding. The performance is on par with the rest, they blow away the competition with features that are thousands of dollars (or way more) or not available (like on the 450s). Wiggle the clutch lever on the CRF300, I got the Rally, wiggle wiggle. I have the little Papio 125SS, built quality on par with the rest but so many nice little features. Bit beyond, but the real world, west is broke, Americans are broke, customer debt at highest levels ever..............These bikes allow few more to get on new, two wheel machines.
Its sad tech and hardwear became more important than performance to the younger generation. Id buy a used 00's Inline-4 over any of these China made par twins.
I'm kind of sure that everyone does "back-lit lights."😜 You know why CF Moto is inexpensive for what you get? Same reason everything from China is less expensive in America. This is all on purpose. I'd love to know how products are made, how employees are treated when they work on products. Sadly, we are thousands of miles and a whole ocean away from ever understanding it.
I feel like the cf nakeds are the new kawi z series. Everyone used to hate on the z series because they weren't anything "special" but after like 21 they had all the bells and whistles at a bargain price and now the china bike... well its from china so it cant be good... misconceptions about both series of bikes. Id buy the 800nk
If i were to have a twin its gotta be a v type.Maybe the 1250nk will be a bit more my taste. Probably like the xsr900 gp and I'll never see it in the u.s.
Do you think ktm dealers will be able to service the 800nk because they use the same engine. Im considering one, but worried about CF's limited dealer network
I think the point he was making is that they didn't cut that corner and did the work. If they were just rebadging bikes or something they wouldn't spend the cash to mold different headlights or side panels.
@@spitescorner That's fair... but aren't we setting the bar too low here? I think its that we are expecting plagiarism just because of the origin of the bike. I appreciate the man a lot for his work but lets be objective here. We wouldn't commend Suzuki or KTM for doing this. We should objectively compare them against competitors like BMW and Yamaha. Anyways im nitpicking NBD! Otherwise it will look like he's bought out by the company even when hes not!
@@centripetal25 I would actually argue that's a good thing. We as a riding community are expecting the bike to be a shameless rip off, but in reality, the company put a lot of work into it, and made a great product. I think that's part of what gets people upset about the bikes. They want chinese products to suck, because there's admittedly a wide range of quality, but these are pretty damn good.
@@spitescorner I guess as a viewer and consumer, im more interested whether you (or an average rider) would pick this bike over say Japanese or European alternatives - or even a scoring system lets say. Vs making a commentary rgd the perceptions of the general public. That would make it a lot more informative. If it is legitimately a better choice or value per dollar than Yamaha MTs in your opinion, for example. I would like to know that, and the reasons why. Not "this is atypical of Chinese products". And if its not quite as good enough as competitors - why not? That would be a good focus. Just my 2c. :)
@@spitescorner At the end of the day - if I was to be convinced or "brainwashed" into liking CFMOTO (or Suzuki or BMW or ______), I would need more compelling reasons why aside from being "not a rip off". Keep up the sweet content!
I think their biggest issue is aftermarket support. When I got my KLR a few hundred dollars got me a 600lb spring for the rear and a set of progressive fork springs and some 20W fork oil within days with a quick Google Search.
It's not that cf Moto is bad new, it's if they are still working and can get parts and service in 5 years.... There is a cf Moto 650 adventure at a cf Moto dealer .... 2022 , 300 miles 2600$ .... Imagine if you bought one for 6700 or even 5k....
I got my 2022 650NK in January for $3500 and I don’t regret it one bit. The manufacturer has incentives and the dealers want old stock off the floor. Mine was brand new 2 year warranty blah blah.
The parts are ktm, engines are either ktm or kawasaki on most their bikes. Everything else is premium products you can buy. It shouldn't be an issue and zero reason to think they won't be working in a few years
Bro. A microphoned up group motorcycle ride podcast.. Be like Joe Rogan, except you and your guests are on motorcycles talking through bluetooth.. I’d like to see this style video at least once a week and talk about some random shit… thanks🤟
@@spitescorner they've moved on from what happened in the 1940's and Japan is an now an ally. Meanwhile China is sorta leaning over towards Russia when it comes to what's going on in Europe.
@@spitescorner it's hard to avoid Chinese products these days, u just can't. But I certainly won't buy an entirely Chinese made car or truck, where 100% of the profits go back to China. They're not a friend of ours right now, yet they're trying to infiltrate our country more than ever. They're making a HUGE push in cars and motorcycles with insanely cheap pricing.
I have moved from my 2012 Triumph explorer to the 800NK. I have bought a decent screen from Barracuda in Italy, I'm in the UK, and it makes a hell of a difference as I use my bike all year round as we are a 1 car family. The screen makes it look awesome too. So there are options out there mate.
On the note of quality and reliability it does look bad on paper: Chinese and ktm lol. Doest scream reliable and that's from someone who rides/ ridden ktms and Chinese mini bikes. I still have hope for it tho
Like if Harley made either of those bikes, same in every way but name, you would find ‘six ways from Sunday’ to appear smug, condescending, contemptuous and critical. Radically inconsistent is all,
I'm still gonna hate 'em. China's metallurgy isn't great. Even when they copy old Honda designs. The cases, pistons, and rods are not up to Japan or American metals.
China CAN make good products. Looks at the best drone company, DJI, they're Chinese. While I would love to see in the long term about how cfmoto bikes hold up, I don't doubt they're quality.
CFmoto has ktm engines ...ktm engines are known for there lack of reliability...so...=> Cfmoto is a KTM , same issues , same engine same power...different logo on it...why not buy a ktm right now ?
@@spitescorner Reliability Spite, if they prove to be more reliable than a KTM then i will consider one...till then they need to prove to me they deserve my money. I ve recently considered a KTM 890r or 990 as a new bike for me ( Coming from an MT 09 gen 3 ) ...and the reliability put me of, those models pair with 790 have so many problems, i dont understand why people keep buying them. I know they have more tech for less money. They need to be trustworthy in the medium to long run (5 -10 years) Anyway, looking forward to you next vid.
@@spitescornerand when the factory warranty runs out you are stuck with a electrical nightmare that you will struggle to get parts for. Besides what is a factory warranty good for when you get left stranded. The real question is is cf moto a rebranded ktm or is the ktm a rebranded cfmoto now.
No IMU on the CFMOTO, so your statement that the tech is ~”equal to” the MT 09 SP, is factual incorrect when referencing the electronics. I like CFMOTO and Free Trade. I am perplexed by the selective favortism for CFMOTO, are you being like given views for “kissing their butt”? Genuinely confused and a potential buyer of the 700 Sport with brembo brakes.
Hey man iam a fellow tall rider and new is there any way for me to ask you some questions? I sent you a dm on instagram but assuming you don’t respond on there!
