Yep! This happened in my MK7 GTI too. I also have a video on my YT channel on the clip to the bleeder block breaking. I decided to buy the ECS billet bleeder block, but the clips they provide are even weaker, and one failed again on mine. I went back to the OEM bleeder block and did ZERO mods to it, and it’s been working just fine for a year now. Also, you pulling your clutch pedal up too far and hearing that POP, you have possibly destroyed your clutch master cylinder. Good news is I have plenty of clutch vids showcasing the tob/slave failure, bleeder block, as well as a clutch master cylinder install on my YT channel. Good luck!

Glad it wasn’t too bad. I went with a DKM stage 2 clutch kit (SMF setup) and ECS Bleeder block from day one. I knew I could get into a situation like yours some day, being at EQT Stage 2 power myself. 80K miles on my car, with 45K miles on stage 2 tune, and still kicking ass daily !!

I went with DKM and this exact thing happened. Clutch went to the floor and never came back up. The crappy plastic throw out bearing in the clutch kit exploded. It happened within 2k miles of install. Luckily the shop replaced it under warranty but I’m worried it’ll fail again. Wished I went with another brand TBH. Other people in the reviews had similar issues

That’s unfortunate to hear. DKM certainly seems to be a miss or hit. But overall, with my SMF setup, it’s an awesome combo. I suppose some shops can screw up installs as well. It’s not my first DKM clutch either, I’ve had luck with them in the past as well. Southbend I think has best overall reliability of any kit, and their “daily” line of clutch feels good too, they just can’t hold as much power as the DKM stuff.

@@dacarguru7983 same as you brother. I dont beat on my car but I definitely do drive spiritedly. Less power than you on my mk6 R but have had a great time with DKM stage 2. For over 45k miles at this point. I think its always down to installation. My shop is one of the best in the state and knock out atleast 2-3 VW clutches a day

Interesting, mine has gotten stuck after backing it up in my garage. However, i have been able to manually return it back to normal. Took it in to the dealer, but they found nothing besides my money.

Try bleeding the clutch you might have air pocket. Also check for leaks make sure no air is being introduced.

Hey man something I’d recommend for you to do is. I see how you have your Cobb wire mounted, mine is similar. But. I have it mounted in behind that cubby on the driver side then ran up through the steering column that way it’s more clean and doesn’t hang down

I had the same issue, clutch pedal went to the floor and didn’t come back up. Turns out the throw out bearing exploded, they’re made of plastic on these cars. I think Sachs makes a metal one?

Had the same thing just happen the other week to my rabbit. Clutch master cylinder went out and was spraying fluid. Wasn’t to painful replacing.

You should see if they sell a metal one, im assuming that over time with the heat cycles that you run the car at the plastic can expand and get fooked just like what happened

I have been fighting an EPC light with random misfires. Had a dude do some work and he crossed the hardline from the HPFP to the fuel rail. I was an idiot and cleared the codes before I got my OBDeleven. Been down for almost 2 months cuz I just can’t figure it out. Had a P03AF for cylinder 3 pressure too high, cleared that code and it’s still running in limp mode but no EPC, really frustrating tho cuz since I’m Unitronic Stage 2 their flash tunes can mask issues sometimes so I’m hella stumped.. trying to find a shop in my area that I would trust, after the last dude messed up I’m very hesitant :/ Always a great video!

Cylinder pressure too high means it is knocking in the pre-ignition window. If it's a built motor it just needs tuned out because aftermarket pistons can be a bit noisy. If not, well, that's not good.

@@dirk5950 not built, running a Unitronic stage 2 ecu and tcu tune with their over run file(pops and bangs) Integrated engineering intake, turbo inlet, and ARM catless downpipe with their o2 spacer. Already replaced the coil packs, spark plugs look good and my last thought is maybe injectors but idk, just nervous to take it to another shop

Glad it was an easy fix! Did you say the annoying squeaking went away after replacing that T Valve AKA brake bleeder valve thing? I'm curious because when it's really cold in the Winter my MKVII makes some annoying squeaking sounds when engaging the clutch.

Should have bought a aluminum bleeder and delete the swirls valve. Very easy, and spoolin/ecs sell a braided line that also helps with clutch feel!

Swirl valve was already removed, some aluminum blocks leak and the oem didn’t have any problems until now

I had this same thing happen to me this week on my mk6 gti, the bleeder block completely came off the trans side tho I ordered a ecs bleeder block and line hopefully it solves the issue

Can I ask where you lubed your clutch pedal to get rid/reduce the squeaky noise. I replaced my slave cylinder and its been squeaking for about 4 months now :/ I tried to lube with some paste and wd40 but it never got any better. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Had oil leakage frm transmission down and same stuck clutch pedal, turned out throw out bearing failed for my dkm stage 2 clutch, replaced it with plastic one and works fine for now

Dkm stage2 kit comes with metal slave/throw out, which failed jst after 10k kms, and after reading forums i went with plastic one and till now its been 20K + and works good

Cobb doesn’t allow you to remove the Downpipe code anymore. Does not affect drive-ability

@@chasepeev7948 The new R's are hitting Vortex XL 1/4 mile times on the stock turbo. Probably why he got an S3 to play with. The evo gets it! 10 second quarter miles with just tuning!
