Been on eBay since 2008 selling off and on but this is my first year full time. It’s been scary since I left my “real” job especially because many don’t understands that this is an actual real job. Thank you for your words they inspire me to keep going.
I wish I was this brave! I started last year and I’m so tired of the hour commute to my current job and being away from my kids. It’s terrifying to think about doing this as the sole income in my house. And so many people are discouraging of my choice.
I resell on and off, and it is such a comfort to me to have it as an income stream that I can ALWAYS fall back on. When I take breaks I make sure to keep up on new brands and trends, and when I get back into it I always make some money within a week. I'm able to constantly rotate my own closet out because I can decide to keep a piece of inventory, wear it a few times, and then list it and make my money back (and then some). If you're considering it, I encourage you to do some research and, even if you decide to start small, just jump in!
You're the best! ...and a HUGE inspiration to me. I am a SAHM and homeschool our youngest. I started reselling again last June and I love it! I love your positive attitude! You provide so much information for resellers. I have found many brands of clothing that I would have passed up if it were not for you mentioning them in your videos. Thank you Ashley for everything you do! You're simply wonderful and deserve all the success! -Amy
Learning the ropes is easier in the thrift stores in my opinion. You're not rushed or on the spot. You can take time to look stuff up on your phone. Once you have some solid knowledge of brands and what not, the bins and garage sales are probably way better returns. At least in my area. Great advice.
I'm also a stay at home mom, and because of you, I started buying and selling to try and make some kind of an income for my family. I'm no where near your numbers, but I'm trying to grow them...and your videos are always such a great advice km what labels to look out for. Love your channel!
This was so informational and inspiring! Thank you so much. I just set up my LLC and next step is opening a business bank account. A lot of times I feel like a big fraud and that I don’t have what it takes. Watching genuine resellers like you is so encouraging. Thank you so much. You have blessed me ❤
I have really enjoyed watching and learning from you. Your humor is such a draw. Please never allow your growth and popularity to ever change you. You are wonderful and such an inspiration. Thank you for all you do!
Thank you for the motivation! I’m a single mom living paycheck to paycheck and I started eBay over the summer here and there. I’ve been so much more motivated watching you and other resellers.
Thank you!!! I appreciate your positivity. There have been so many “the sky is falling” videos/podcasts/posts lately and I’m they’re such a bummer. I watched this video earlier this morning and actually came back to comment because I was still thinking about it. 😊
I love your videos! I just rounded out my third month as a part time re-seller and starting today I’m going from listing two per day to a goal of three per day (woo-hoo !). I needed to hear the lesson on patience so thank you ! Wishing you continued success 😊.
I recently discovered you and I have been binging on your videos; yard sales, thrifting are my favorites and when you go over what sold. I immediately loved your voice and energy. You and your husband seem like very genuine people. You’re making me want to resell. Haha I just bought a Lululemon running shorts on your eBay. Can’t wait to receive it. Thank you!
New office who dis!! 😃 killing it with the eBay and I a thousand percent agree with your business model. I ran into a guy at an estate sale who kept coming up with excuses as to why he doesn’t resell yet. I told him if I had one piece of advice for new resellers it would be to not sabotage your business with meaningless details before it starts. Jump in and be okay learning along the way. Narrowing down the important tips to 5 is all anyone needs and the rest you’re gonna figure out over experience and time. Thanks again Ash!! Xoxo
Thank you so much for creating this channel. Im sure im not the only one but the inspiration received from this channel threw you and your husband is impacting more lives than you know in a great way!!
I just read about a few young female doctors and nurses at ivy league institutions dying and i realized decades too late its so much better to live life and with your family instead of self sabotaging. A few colleagues told me years ago and i didnt believe them...Thank you for encouraging self care before its too late for the young ones..
I love your channel! I have been a full time reseller for the past couple of years and always appreciate learning from other people selling. Thank you for sharing your journey!
I just restarted selling on eBay again, too, now that I have a bunch of clothes in our storage building to go through. I have started with those and the small clothes that can be folded and shipped in gallon size bags as I prebag everything after pictures. And I am upfront about what I used to wash them in and about possible common allergies, like i have kittens & a dog. I am just trying to get started again. After the 1 negative I had, I took a 4 year break. 😅
You are an amazing seller, mom, wife, and overall individual!! Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge! New seller is looking for help any way I can. The roller coaster is real!! Best wishes.
Thanks for this it helped me see that even though when move over to Florida I will need to start again it ok I just take some the knowledge from doing it here in Uk and allow myself to be patient ❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing. You’ve given a lot of good info. I love your channel. I must say your husband is so funny. I believe you have shown him you really can do this! ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I needed to hear this today. After a couple returns this past week and a false INAD, I was so frustrated and wanted to quit. I know it’s part of owning your own business and I just need to hang in there. You are an inspiration.🌷
Your comment resonated with me. I had someone accuse me of “bait & switch” claiming the red/black plaid socks (think lumberjack style) were inferior to those in the photos. I only had that 1 pair for sale 🤔 so they were the same ones as the photos. Oh well. Daily Refinement talked about returns in one of his videos as just an inescapable part of the business but if you think about it, returns will only be a certain small percentage of the total amount of sales. He had like 100 returns in a month but he was selling around 80 items per day. If he increased his sales then he could likely expect an increase in returns but only at a certain percentage. I sell clothes and my average cost of goods is about $2 so an occasional return is not going to ruin me (even though the total sale may have been $18-$24). It’s just an exercise in customer service, don’t let it slow you down. ✌🏼&❤
Gosh, you look so different with the light hair. I almost didn't recognize you on your video thumbnail. As a brunette myself, I prefer the darker hair, but you look good either way. Curious if your youngest didn't recognize you at first!?...
Curious how you pay yourself? Do you take a percentage of what goes into the biz account, or take a draw of a certain amount every month? this is something I am still trying to figure out. I also plan to set up my business as an LLC this year
This video was so helpful for me. Especially for me learning how the reseller business works. God’s willing I’ll be joining my wife to help thrive the thrifting business she started and so proud of her. Thanks again and I have subscribed. Love the videos so far and your husband’s comments crack me up as well. Have a great day!
Such amazing tips, Ashley! I've been reselling for a while but really want to ramp up my business and take it even more seriously so these are super helpful. And I love the new hair on you - ya look gorg! x
Once I sold a designer dress in EBay and the item arrived on a Thursday to the customer so on Monday, she sent me an email saying the she will return the item because the dress had a made her have a rash and she had to call the ambulance, etc. In other words, she was saying that I have to be thankful because she didn’t sue me. I was surprised because the dress was polyester, and why she had to wait the all weekend to tell me.Since then,I do not want to sell no clothing in EBay.
Sounds like your customer needed a dress for the weekend and then returned it back to you with a lie for a refund. How sad it is that people do that with no guilt whatsoever! There’s actually an episode in the show, “King of Queens” were Kerrie does that to different department stores.
Love you I'm new to reselling and I watch all your videos you are such a inspiration to me and so many other thank you for sharing. You are truly amazing at all you do!
Great tips! I have 2 little kids and I love the flexibility reselling has given me. I've been debating on starting an eBay store (just have listings only at the moment)
Thank you for the encouragement. I sell on PM and think of trying ebay. How to ship scares me. Doesn't sound easy. Love watching your videos and the tips I get from you
You are a huge inspiration to me ❤ I have made a list of brands that you mention in videos. I just recently was given a huge amount of great clothes for FREE ☺️ I love watching your videos.❤
Thank you so much for your video. I have been following you for a while and you have given us many tips on how to be better sellers. I was wondering what video editing and RU-vid clases did you take? Thank you so much and good luck 🍀
New suscriber here! I am just now learning the ropes to reselling on eBay and have been binge watching your lovely videos! You are such a pleasure to watch, and your family is such a wonderful joy. I am wondering about shipping, though - label making? not going to the post office? ordering packing envelopes and boxes? Do you have a video on all this shipping info, or could you DO a video on it? Thank you!!!
You have inspired me to get started! I'm so excited and appreciate you! I have some questions. Is your LLC the same name as your online stores? Do you have different store names depending for different platforms? Do you list items on multiple platforms, or have an inventory specifically for Ebay, Poshmark, What Not etc?
You’re videos are amazing! I’ve learned so much from them. I am doing reselling part time to help with some extra income. Would you be able to do a video on Poshmark also? Any tips. Thanks in advance!!❤❤
I'm actually in 30min past Price in a really small mining town called Sunnyside. I moved here from Idaho where I had a small thrift store about 7-ish years ago. I've wanted to get back into reselling again, but I'm at a loss of where to get any inventory. Price has 2 thrift stores the DI and a thrift store I can never remember the name of that I call the Not DI. The DI prices here are really high enough they make it not worth flipping. The " Not DI" doesn't rotate their inventory enough to give me enough inventory to flip. I do make it "Over the mountain" that's what us hicks down here call going up to the big city. How do you find your yard sales? I grew up in SLC so I generally know my way around, but that was back when dinosaurs walked and we still used paper classifieds.
Ebay in my opinion has become greedy and difficult to work with. However there are a few steps mentioned here I should look at. QUESTION:. How do you take time off if you're shipping daily? Doesn't this require hiring help?
Hello! Thank you for all of the great information! I have a quick question. I have a resale shop and want to branch out to shipping to customers, but my sales are final. What is your opinion? My reasoning for this is 1) When I shop resale or yard sales there are no returns. 2) Trying to avoid the hardships of losing money once it is made.
Thank you for sharing this valueable information. I am a new seller on eBay selling mostly clothing that no longer fits me or that I no longer need. I'm a pretty organized person so that helps. My biggest hurdle is getting good lighting for photos. I noticed that a lot of full-time ebayers do not use Priority Mail for shipping. How in the world do you know what $ to charge when the price changes based on where you are shipping to? Don't you have to add the cost of Confirmation of Receipt / Tracking too? I've been using Priority Mail for all my shipping so the cost is fixed & I get the tracking info with it.
Hi there. I’m new here. Same situation as a SAHM. What made you decide to sell on EBay verses other platforms? I find eBay very overwhelming verses others places. 😊 thanks!
